Hey everyone! Happy to announce that my new VR game Cosmodread is finally available! You can get it now with a 15% launch discount on Steam.
Trapped in a dying spaceship filled with horrors, you must explore, survive, and find your way back to the safety of Earth. Cosmodread features a rich, tense and immersive atmosphere that will make you forget about the world outside the headset.
(Minor) Update v1.2.6.6
Added one more turn speed level (#6) to the Options menu. When using this speed level in comfort / snap turn mode, the snap will be instantaneous and without any animations. This new setting should help reduce motion sickness for some players who experience it when turning around.
Trapped in a dying spaceship filled with horrors, you must explore, survive, and find your way back to the safety of Earth. Cosmodread features a rich, tense and immersive atmosphere that will make you forget about the world outside the headset.
Coming soon to desktop VR headsets: Steam VR, Oculus Rift.
(Minor) Update v1.2.6.5
Increased joysticks' deadzones for Windows Mixed Reality controllers, to prevent spurious input in the more sensitive hardware (this should prevent or reduce the character sliding by itself when playing with the Odyssey+ controllers)
(Minor) Update v1.2.6.3
Added input support for Vive Cosmos' controllers.
(Minor) Update v1.2.6.2
Changes:
Fixed joystick movement not working with some Windows Mixed Reality controllers (such as the Odyssey+).
Added a dead zone to joystick movement detection to prevent the character from slowly drifting when playing with sensitive controllers.
Update v1.2.6.0
Changes:
Updated to use the new Steam VR Input system.
Added input bindings to support the new Valve Index controllers.
Added bindings to improve support for Windows Mixed Reality controllers: Joysticks will now control movement and rotation by default, and the trackpads will behave as buttons for opening the Inventory and Map.
All of these default bindings can be edited and customized for individual preference by using the Steam VR binding tool.
The native Oculus version of the game is unaffected by these changes.
Windows Mixed Reality compatibility
If you own a Windows Mixed Reality headset, you can use it with Dreadhalls through the built-in Steam VR compatibility. Simply make sure to choose one of the "Steam VR" launch options when playing the game.
If you're using Mixed Reality Motion Controllers, the buttons are mapped to the equivalent ones in the HTC Vive controllers: so you still use the trackpads to move, triggers to interact, and so on.
There is also a custom version of Dreadhalls with native support for Mixed Reality headsets. You can find it at the Microsoft Store.
Update v1.2.5.9
Update v1.2.5.9 is now live. This is a minor update adding the option of not having to keep the HTC Vive thumb trackpad pressed down in order to move, which some users had requested.
You can configure this behavior through the new "Press trackpad to move" switch option in the "Movement Settings" menu.
Hotfix update (v1.2.3.11)
Version 1.2.3.11 of Dreadhalls is now available, with the following changes:
Fixed some USB input devices (HOTAs, steering wheels, etc...) interfering when playing with motion tracked controllers, and causing the player to rotate or move on its own.
Fixed gamepad recenter button not working properly in Steam VR when playing in gamepad mode.
Fixed thumbsticks not working properly when launching the game in Steam VR with Oculus Touch controllers (but you should launch the game in Oculus VR if you have a Rift!)
