More generated notes, Improved Slicer control, Customization system on the way

Hey!

This update improves the core elements of the game to make it more comfortable and enjoyable to play.

Generator update

The generator now places more notes and makes the game more challenging.

This update mostly applies to the 3rd frequency, the lower frequencies have not changed much.

We still have some work to do on the note generator and the number of notes, but this should already be a more challenging experience than before.

You can try it by generating new songs or regenerating existing.

Improved Slicer control

Based on feedback, simplified the control, made turns easier, modified inertia and removed excess weight.

Collisions update

It became easier to hit notes. Also, the problem with the passage of the blade over the notes seems to be finally defeated.

In addition, the customization system is almost ready and will appear in the next update.

This makes it possible to select different trails and particles for the blade and slicer, as well as recolor different parts of each. New elements are unlocked upon reaching certain game levels.

We mentioned in a previous update that we are looking for investors to be able to expand the game faster, we are still in the process.

Hope you enjoy the improvements in this update, and have fun!

New Spiral map, Slicer control update, V-Sync, tweaks

Hi everyone!

Today's update include:

  • Slicer control adjustment with reduced inertia and improved rotational resistance curves. Now its movements should feel lighter and more controlled.

  • Requested V-Sync.

  • Auto generator tweaks.

  • New Spiral map.

Available for both Blade and Slicer.

We hope these tweaks will improve your experience.

Thank you guys for the feedback you left through the form. We are glad that you like the game and will take into account the shortcomings you mentioned.

Also, we would like to note that for now we are not moving as fast as we would like. We are working on additional funding to expand and refine the game sooner, as well as to have a marketing campaign for its release.

We know from feedback that some of you find the current gameplay to be a bit slow due to the maximum number of notes that can be in a scene at once. This was not planned before, but with investments, we would be able to add new types of notes. Such notes will be optimized to fit in much larger numbers, so the gameplay will be more dynamic and challenging.

Have fun!

New default songs, Asian music, Generator update, Control improvements

Hi everyone!

Based on community feedback and the most popular requests, we have made a number of improvements to the game. This patch includes:

  • New default music of different genres - rock, pop, hip-hop, dubstep, Japanese LoFi, traditional Asian music.

  • The map generator has been updated and now you will get more notes for mid and max frequencies.

  • Collisions has been adjusted for easier aiming and a more enjoyable experience.

  • The problem with sometimes missing notes was more serious than just collision. This should be fixed, however if it is found to be still happening we will make more improvements to it.

  • Blade inertia has been slightly reduced and resistances have been adjusted to make it more controllable..

Hope you like it!

New map, No limit of 3 notes in Editor, Collision improvements

Hi everyone!

Thank you for your feedback and words of support, we're glad you enjoy Dreamvibe! Here is a new patch with improvements according to your feedback:

  • There was an issue in a previous build that caused the Basic blade to use Slicer blade collisions. In some cases, this caused the blade to go through the notes. Now it's fixed.

  • Collisions for both types of blades have been adjusted to allow players to move more freely.

  • Adjusted the resistance of the Slicer blade to make it more controllable.

  • Added a mew map - Dimension.

Available for both Basic and Slicer blades.

  • Increased the maximum number of notes per second in the Editor from 3 to 10. It should feel like there is no limit, while still preventing the game from crashing.

Cheers, guys!

Blade point, Slicer control adjustments, collision improvements

Hi!

Here is a new patch with improvements according to your feedback:

  • Added a blade point that is always visible, even when you don't move the blade.

  • Adjusted Slicer control, now it has less inertia and is closer to cursor movement.

  • Adjusted collisions for base blade,

  • Adjusted collisions for Slicer.

  • Adjusted Energy parameters to make it less demanding.
As a reminder, you can turn it off by clicking the lightning bolt icon in the maps section.

  • Made miss (X) icon size smaller.

  • Removed FPS lock for now to fix white screen issue instead of maps.
If you are still having this problem and you had FPS lock enabled in your settings before, please delete the PlayerSettings file located in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\DreamVibe\Saved\SaveGames.

Let us know if the gameplay feels better with these adjustments, or if there is something you would like to improve.

Stay tuned!

Please, if you have time - you can fill out the Google form located in the main menu, or share your thoughts with us through reviews or the Steam Hub. Your help is very important during the Early Access phase to get Dreamvibe ready for full release and make the game you enjoy.

We've been hearing about an issue since launch - sometimes the first time you launch any level other than Space, a white screen will appear. It is treated by returning to the main menu and restarting the game. We find out the reasons.

Also let us know if you like the new Slicer blade type. If so, we will work more on it, improve visuals and control feelings!

DREAMVIBE will be released on April 8th!

Greetings!

Dear players, we are preparing for the launch of Early Access, the date of which is set for April 8!

Now the game build is fully playable and the main mechanics are ready.

Here is a list of what has already been done and will be available in the game since the launch of Early Access:

  • Automatic level creation from your own music and video clips
  • List of default music in various genres
  • Cool blade control in all axes with mouse only
  • Notes are represented by responsive fluid simulation. You can interact with each note while cutting
  • Built-in level editor where you can place notes as you wish manually in addition to (or without) automatically generated ones
  • Customizable color system for blades, trails, impact effects and fluids
  • Level progression system
  • Video player game mode where you can upload & play any of your favorite video clips

The following features are ready according to the logic of the game, but will not be presented at launch due to the content filling process:

  • System for customizing new elements for the blade - trails, impact effects, etc.
Some new elements are already ready, but this is not enough for the necessary variety. The relationship between customization and the leveling system is ready and tested. That's why we just need to produce more customization parts.

  • More different maps
Our goal is to bring in a variety of maps in a variety of visual styles and settings. Currently WIP

  • Automatic generation of visual effects according to music (beats)
The system is ready and now we are polishing it and working on the visual effects themselves.

  • Various types of game modes
The game mode, in which your camera flies along different routes, has been finished as for game logic but maps are WIP.

  • Slow and Dynamic moments
The mechanics in which you switch between different maps during the game depends on the calm and dynamic moment of the song.

As you can see, the game as a whole is ready to launch, but something is missing - a variety of maps and in-game visuals. Despite this, the main gameplay and mechanics are ready.
One of our main goals was to provide you with easy tools to play your own music and videos. These functions are completely ready.

We'd like to launch Early Access as the next step to get your feedback on this last phase of development - filling in game content, polishing and fixing bugs.

For sure you will also have many ideas to improve the game - we will be glad to hear your feedback!

Stay tuned!
