What's next?
By testing new things in Drifter's Tales thanks to your feedbacks, we now have many improvements for you by completely redesigning our narrative version of The First Spine.
We know that the first draft is perfectible. That's why the first adventure will be available as additional content, taking advantage of all the improvements we're going to make. This content will be free for all players who have a registered account on The First Spine before February 1st.
A brand new exploration
We have completely redesigned the exploration. From now on, your position is materialized by a pawn that you can move. You will then be able to choose the cards you draw and you will no longer have to read the texts of the cards.
More cards available
30 new cards will be added to the game.
These cards are taken from the origins classes of the base game and feature new mechanics, such as the modification of the board during the fights. New ways to obtain cards have also been integrated into the game.
Redesigned battles
We have also decided to take over the combat mechanics entirely. Thus, all the fights will be done directly on the game area without any loading or waiting time.
Finally, most of the enemy's movements will require dexterity: you will not remain idle during the opponent's turn!
We give you access to our private alpha
We will put our community at the center of all the decisions we will make! Who better than you to give us an opinion on the game that you are going to play?

About the november 3 update
The November update is fast approaching, and now we can tell you more. Discover new cards and new ways to customize your deck.
New UI on card exclusion
By studying the telemetry data, it appeared to us that the exclusion of cards - which is a feature requested by most of you - is rarely used. We have therefore chosen to highlight it more when selecting stories.
Also, the very last story will no longer play automatically, allowing you to exclude cards from your deck.
New cards and a valuation of mana stones
We also noticed that the mana stones were not used very much. Blame it on a hazardous object, whose usefulness comes down to having more cards in the deck at the end of a story.
Thus, we decided to modify this object. There are now 3 types of stones, each of which can move a card from your discard pile directly into your hand (and no longer into the deck). During the tests of this functionality, it appeared that this novelty also increased the synergies between the cards and greatly facilitated the understanding of this object.
Finally, new cards will appear, allowing you - among other things - to directly duplicate cards on the board, modify the statistics of enemies or even give you the possibility of placing more than one card per turn.
Buy cards you already have
Always with the aim of providing you with a complete card game experience, we have added a new character that allows you to buy cards that have already been acquired. This character will offer you 6 cards for sale each time you talk to him. To make it easier for you, we have rebalanced the whole economy of the game. So you will have more gems to buy these cards and also buy upgrades.
Do not restart a story from the beginning
Still studying the telemetry data, we realized that a large number of players left the game after a failure. We have therefore added checkpoints in each story, allowing you to no longer start from the beginning with each failure.
Random events to surprise you
This update contains some random events. These events will allow you to have new cards, always serving the narrative. These encounters will not be visible while exploring and will trigger automatically when you go to certain cards. We don't want to reveal too much, but each encounter has a price to pay.
...and many other quality of life improvements
And that's not all. We're also going to include a lot of quality of life improvements on this update, here's a quick snippet:
Better support for all screen resolutions
The defense of some enemies has been reduced in The Village story
Sellers were added in the last story
Added feedback when purchasing items
The illustrations of Jester and Gargoyle have been revamped
Zoom on cards in the menu & the exclusion screen have been increased
The transition speed when a card is chosen while exploring has been increased
Bets have been raised on all stories
And then?
From now on I will use the pronoun "I", and no longer "we". Because indeed, I am the only developer on this game.
I've been in a period of intense development for 14 weeks, and I'm starting to tire. The Switch port also requires a lot of effort from me and I think it's time for me to rest and watch what happens for the December update.
I tried to offer you the best possible game with my means, and the effort / positive impact ratio is currently too low to continue to include new features. The December update will therefore only offer bug fixes.
Drifter's Tales was launched too soon, that's a fact. However, the free early access phase showed us that the game was ready given the quality of the feedback you posted. The ball is now in your court: if you appreciate the efforts I put into this game, I invite you to talk about it around you to encourage this long-term project.

A preview for the update #4
We have analyzed the telemetry data sent during your games and we have been able to determine a few features that will solve problems that we have identified.
This update will be released on November 3.
Highlighting Mana Stones
It occurred to us that mana stones were often left out of decks and not used. We have decided to separate this object into 3 distinct objects which will allow you to restore a particular type of card from your discard pile to your hand (and no longer to your deck as initially).
Always more customization
Also, a new character will appear. For a few gems, it will give you the opportunity to create cards that you already have in your possession.
New cards
Three new cards available in Random Events will appear: Monstrous Portal, Duplicate & Echo of Insane.
Minor quality of life improvements
We are also going to offer you some minor improvements, such as highlighting the command to exclude cards from your deck, rebalancing certain enemies and the game economy.
Update #3
This update contains an update to the game engine as well as support for the most popular gamepads.
Also, this update prepares the game for a port on Nintendo Switch which will be out in the coming weeks.
New features:
Support for XBox, Switch & Dual Shock controllers
Improvements:
Global engine update
Improved tutorials with the display of keys depending on the control mode used
Fixed issues:
Fixed a bug with the Burden Earth capacity that could block an opponent's turn
Store page updated & price change
As you may have seen a few days ago, we made a major update to address your feedback on our game.
We've also decided to rework the game page to reflect this update. Some points that we consider essential have been highlighted, and we hope that these details will give you a more accurate image of our game.
Also, we lowered the price by 50% permanently. After looking around Steam, we felt that our price was not competitive enough compared to the plethora of games that are on the platform.
We hope you'll enjoy the changes we've made and look forward to your feedback.
Mise à jour #2
We have heard your feedback and we are bringing you this update which contains many quality of life improvements.
We have also added cards and mods that you can obtain randomly during your exploration to vary your game strategies. Finally, always with the aim of highlighting card mechanics, you can exclude cards from your deck when selecting a story.
New features:
You can now exclude cards on the story selection screen to help you build your deck
Six new playing cards: Replacement, Souls of a Sacrificed Hunter, Gargoyle, Banner of Shadows, Jester, Fire
Two new modifiers: Aura, Burden Earth
Chests are now available when exploring. These chests will randomly drop a card or modifier.
Improvements:
Choosing between mouse and keyboard control is now mandatory
You can now leave a game on the story selection screen
During exploration, possible movements are highlighted with feedback with mouse control
Additional feedbacks are present during fights with mouse control
Cards already visited are no longer animated even if the texts have been updated
Problems fixed:
Some sentences in French have been correctly translated into English
Some translations were not available and have been added
Sometimes the discard selection indicator was not displayed even though it was selectable
Each time the collection was displayed the cards were multiplied
Changed stats when viewing card information could has negative values
Improved click areas on end of story buttons
The upcoming update on september 23
We've heard your feedbacks, and here's a quick preview of the next update coming out on September 23rd.
Mouse support improvements
It seems that the mouse control option is not visible enough for a lot of you. Thus, we made the choice to make this option mandatory, just like the selection of the language.
Also, feedback will be added to show you more clearly the different possibilities available to you.
Highlighting cards
We were told that the "card game" dimension was also not present enough. Thus, you will soon be able to exclude cards from your deck to perfect your strategy.
Other cards will also appear to vary the gameplay options. These cards will be randomly assigned to available chests during your explorations and will be added to your deck immediately.
Six cards will be added to the pool, and here are some of them.
