Post Release Patch #2

BUGS:
* The mission run with difficulty 50 wasn't completable. This is fixed.
* Bug fix on item tooltip when changing tab with the gamepad.

IMPROVEMENTS:
* More waves for the third faction.
* Unknown gamepads are now usable (worst case scenario, you will have to rebind controls in the Settings).
* Default bindings for command buttons (Back and Start on a XBox360 controller) should be correctly set on other gamepads. You may have to rebind your custom gamepad controls.
* A sound feedback is now played when achieving a mission goal (ie: when you drop the correct items in a delivery mission).
* Quality improved on characters illustrations.
* Improved GFX on the Expert Blade skill.

BALANCE:
* Antimatter bullets (purple) are not reflected anymore with the Reflecting Bubble, but absorbed instead.

COMING SOON:
* Ability to choose between real fullscreen and borderless fullscreen.
* Holo Map in Command Center auto-rotates to face the last unlocked mission node.

Post release patch #1

FEATURES :
* Very fast moving elements in the foreground of some levels can now be deactivated in the Settings.

BUGS :
* Black drones from Redemption were not black anymore because of a stupid mistake... Reminder Black drones are dying with an explosion for difficulty levels above 10.
* Removed a UI sound playing sometimes when using the skill #2 (button B)

IMPROVEMENTS :
* Corrected a few typos
* Adjusted the position of the Repair button in the Market for forgiving mode when resolution is 1920x1080
* In the Hangar, Added the distinction between base characteristic and bonus from items even if the base characteristic is 0
* Characters during dialogues are now scaled with resolution. They were too small in full HD.
* The Holo Map doesn't rotate automatically anymore
* You can now see the value of recovered HPs with Repair Skills
* Combat reflexes was darkening some environments a bit too much. This is now fixed.

BALANCE :
* A bit less bullets on some waves of the third faction

It's release day!



Drifting Lands is now officially released! The parents are a bit tired but the baby is well. We sincerely hope you will enjoy our game and we will try to keep it growing with your help.

Drifting Lands release is for tomorrow


Hi there !

Just a quick reminder : the release of Drifting Lands is for tomorrow! It should be around 6pm CEST. At that point the story mode will be available with new content, a few new skills, a few new items.

If you like Drifting Lands, tomorrow and the following days is the best opportunity to help us by making some noise about the game. We really need your support to get at least some visibility among the horde of daily new games on Steam!

The game will be sold at a discount of 20% for 2 weeks, a tiny bit more than the early access price.

If some of what you expected from the game is still not there tomorrow, please do not be mad at us. We have to release the game because we have to move on... but we have still content to deliver in the coming weeks and if the game has any success maybe months to come. There's already plenty of fun to have with the game but we still have ideas to improve it and we're still listening to feedback!

PS : please be aware that all saves will be wiped when you transition from early access to the release version.

v0.23 last early access update before release


Here we are. After more than three years, we're now very close to the release of Drifting Lands. For the last month or so, we've been working on all the story mode content and we will continue to do so until the coming release.

Update v0.23 includes two new challenges with their own leaderboards :
- Mine Field
- Big Game Hunting
... and the 10th music track for missions by Louis Godart as usual!

We're sorry this update doesn't have more content but there was no satisfying way to add the big chunck we've been working on in pieces. Get ready for the release with :
- a new boss
- a new faction
- new environments
- new items
- a story
- steam achievements
- a new difficulty mode with no permanent loss of items or ships
- save slots
- and more...

Early Access Update v0.22 : New Boss


FEATURES :
* A new epic boss fight : The Hunter ! (starting at level 20)

IMPROVEMENTS :
* inventory slots are now highlighted when you roll over on an item even if you don't meet its requirements
* pictograms for item types are now more visible in the top right corner of item tooltips
* item tooltips are now bordered in red if you don't meet the requirements

BUGS :
* Fixed a bug causing line breaks to cut numbers in two in skill descriptions
* The Die Hard skill was improperly affected by skill power causing the percents of regenerated life per seconds to increase. It now works as intended.
* The confirmation box to create a blueprint was incorrectly showing the necessary price to spend. You were paying the right price but sometimes required more money in your bank account to be allowed to confirm the action. It is now fixed.
* Fixed a bug in the french description of Mine Hack.

Update 0.21 : new environment & 7 new skills for grade 4


FEATURES :
* A new environment : Dawn of Shards
* 7 New Skills unlocked at difficulty grade 4!

IMPROVEMENTS :
* Hovering the cursor over a locked skill will tell you which difficulty rank you have to reach first
* Blueprints are now automatically ordered by level

BALANCE :
* Ship classes have a now huge difference of weapon damage bonus per navigation point:
- Sentinels have still 0.25% of additional damage / NAV point
- Marauders now have 0.35% of additional damage / NAV point
- Interceptor now have 0.5% of additional damage / NAV point
Now more than ever, Interceptors are the biggest damage dealers of the game.

BUGS :
* Fixed a bug where the setting menu would cause an exception blocking the application
* Fixed a bug with the sound manager causing sound fades to have improper durations

Update v0.20 : better bindings for controls and 4K screens management



FEATURES :
* New settings to choose resolution & full screen mode directly in game
* We now more correctly handle very high resolution screens. All UI for screens with a vertical resolution equal or superior to 1440p are now doubled by default. If you like tiny UIs lost in large empty spaces, you can still get the original size with an option in the settings (Scaled UI on HiRes Screen > Off)
* You don't have to use the Unity launcher to bind your controls anymore. You can bind in game in the settings, keyboards and gamepad controls and it will be saved correctly. Hopefully if you have a standard pad most functions should be configured correctly when you launch the game.

Sorry for the lack of content of this update but we had to do this at one point or another. It's now done and we can get back to adding new bosses, new skills and items!

KNOWN BUGS :
* Pause and Retreat will probably be automatically bound correctly only with an XBox360 controller. For other pads like the PS4 dual shock, you will have to bind these functions yourself.

Update v0.19b (New boss & chained missions)



CONTENT:
* A new unique boss for the second faction : The Titan. Get ready for the hardest challenge available in Drifting Lands.
* A new feature to limit boss farming : chains of missions. Each time you defeat a boss for the first time in a primary mission, the encounter will be replaced by a sequence of 3 to 5 missions. You'll have to complete all of them in a row, with no defeat and no retreat to reach once more these big enemies and their precious loot.

WARNING! All your progression on the map has been reset! It's normal but you didn't lose anything else. You still have your money, your ships, your skills, your items. It was necessary to allow the intrduction of a new structure of missions..

Please note that the map interface for the chains of missions is temporary. It's not up to our standards of visual quality but we wanted to test this feature before committing too much time to nice visuals.

BALANCE:
* A lot of low level missions cannot be played anymore at high grades of difficulty to avoid easy farming
* The Freighter Boss cannot be encountered beyond level 40. He may return later but with a greater challenge for very high levels of difficulty!

KNOWN BUGS:

* If you change keybindings or remap your pad with the second launch option, you have to always use this second launch option to use your edited settings. We're quite aware it's really not satisfactory but it will probably force us to refactor a good portion of our control management through a dedicated plugin.(In progress)

(pre) V0.19 a small update while we finish the next boss

CONTENT :
* 6 new unique items to discover (while we put the finishing touches to the new boss fight)

FIXES :
- Fixed a graphical bug on the Sand Shard environment
- Fixed a bug where some automatic skills triggered by enemy deaths did not work properly with the freighters (boss).

KNOWN BUGS :

We're quite aware it's really not satisfactory but it will probably force us to refactor a good portion of our control management through a dedicated plugin.(In progress)
