Dual Core

Wish list features for Dual Core

Hi everyone!

I was wondering what features you'd be most interested in seeing added to Dual Core. Here are a few suggestions of what I *could* spend time adding. Obviously some of these are a bigger deal than others, and I can't do them all at once, but let me know what you think!

  • Online multiplayer
  • Procedurally generated levels - via a new game mode (it might be fun to do this as an ongoing beta, with your involvement over the direction it heads)
  • Melee combat (as opposed to ranged combat) characters
  • Mac & Linux versions
  • new content ( enemies, weapons etc)
  • other!

What would you like to see first? Let me know!

Apologies for broken update!

Seems the the last update had some big problems and faield to run on a lot of machines :( So sorry about that - i have uplaoded a new update, which should get it running again...

Let me know if there are still any issues...

Update: new upgradeable "Speed" stat, future melee characters

The latest update introduces a new stat on the upgrade screen: "Speed/Agility"

Upgrading this will improve your max speed, and acceleration. Have fun!

I've also been working on the possibility of getting some melee based player characters in the game - it's something I wanted in the release version but ran out of time. Any thoughts? Anything you'd like to see with melee combat?

Finally... if you're enjoying Dual Core, don't forget to tell your friends, and leave a review! It's hugely appreciated and helps get the game a little bit more visibility. Thanks so much!

Another day another update

Again, mainly balancing and bug fixes:

  • Balancing:Made powerup drops more intelligent, so more skilled players (and/or hoarders!) don't accumulate so many.

  • Balancing: Adjusted damage on some enemies

  • Balancing: Adjusted difficulty slightly on level 5

  • Bug Fix: Fixed rare crash involving super laser.
  • Bug Fix: Fix for issue on level 7 where AI companions could become stuck.

  • Feature: High scores can now be viewed before playing arcade mode (not just after you die)

Small bug fix update

I just uploaded small update that should fix a number of issues.

Bug fix: elevator levels sometimes won't finish, forcing you to restart them
Bug fix: inventory would sometimes display wrong icon
Bug fix: prevent issue where player 2 could finish the level without player 1, causing problems with Corby in the next level if you switch to single player mode.
Balancing: Arcade level 4 is now easier!
Balancing tweaks to some bosses, enemy damage, health etc.

Latest update:

Thanks to those who've bought the game! Be sure to leave a review if you're enjoying it!

The last couple of updates made some balancing changes, and some minor bug fixes.

  • Balancing: Tweaks to difficulty on later levels - it's now slightly harder late in the game.
  • Balancing: Changes to drop rates for powerups.
  • Balancing: chnages to help prevent loot exploit from enemy spawners.
  • Bug fix: wrong achievements being granted for arcade mode (off by one!)
  • Bug fix: fix rare issue where inventory would vanish, and become unusable.
  • Bug fix: Show UI hint to break ice on frozen companions - it wasn't always displayed previously.

Launch day!

Decided at the last minute to add a launch discount - should last for a week :)

Hope you enjoy the game! Be sure to leave feedback.
(or, you know, bug reports - it happens sometimes! - and I'll make sure they get addressed as soon as possible)
