Patch 0.30.14 is live. The main focus was stability and corrections, but there are some features as well:

Presentation and disclaimer screen: this also make the initial loading screen to show faster (less black screen time during startup).
Tier 2 Armors: are now dropped on Path o Knowledge.
New Musics: and revision on how music system interpolates between states.

Corrupted Save-Games

Hello everyone,

Unfortunately we had some problems with the save-games on the patches released today / yesterday, those are fixed now (please update to last version: 0.30.4), but if you had played while using version 0.30 or 0.30.1 you save-game may had become corrupted which may cause "random" crashes and excessive memory usage.

If that is happening to you and you can:

1. Wipe out all save-games and start over: by deleteting or moving all save-game files from the directory "C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Crowley\Saved\SaveGames"

2. Send your save-game files to support@animvs.com, so we can take a look.

Patch 0.30.1

Greetings, Mortals!

This patch highlights a important feature: new identifying system. Also a lot of changes on game's loot:

FEATURES



New identify system: re-written from scratch. Now, identifying items requires placing them on a shortcut for a while, (identifiers items where dumped). The time required to identify items can be improved by a new modifier called "identify power".
Desert sub-level 2: the desert level was expanded and changed to better fit the upcoming new desert theme levels.
New Loot System: Loot was redesigned and a bunch new modifiers where added:

  • Luck: increases better loot probality
  • attributes bonus / penalties: affects main attributes (STR, DEX, INT)
  • Identify power: Reduces the time required to identify items
  • Movement speed: increases player's movement speed
  • Stronger durability: causes weapons to loose less durability over-time
  • Weapon speed: increases weapon speed (thus, increasing damage per second)
  • Class exchange: Allows weapons to be used by other attributes other
    than the original requirement, while applying a damage penalty


This new system stands as a more solid basis on how loot works, and will receive further work / adjustments for now on.

IMPROVEMENTS



Attribute summary: tool-tip added to player's UI describing how each attribute is composed (invested points + equipment modifiers)
Damage summary: tool-tip added to player's UI describing the character damage (taking attribute bonus and equipment modifiers in consideration).
Inventory slot performance improved: refactored to consume less CPU.
Item description tool-tips: where added to better explain items properties.
Consumable drop rate adjusted (still requires more work).
"R" key can be used to auto-equip / auto-identify items (from both, inventory and from the ground).
Main menu sync load: makes the initial screen more responsive while the resources still loading in background.
PT-BR translations updated.

Gamma settings and Push to talk not being saved
Willpower increase modifier not working
Revised some unbalanced modifiers on high levels
Desert second level not being loaded

Identifiers drop increased: so you guys wouldn't end up with a lot of unusable items. This is just a fix for the momento since the new identify system will be released soon.

We have focused in some technical aspects this time:

IMPROVEMENTS



Foes movement AI updated: to avoid them becoming stuck on corners. This still doesn't affect stairs and doors on the first theme, but theirs AI is getting better.
UI performance improved: lowering CPU cost.
Network consumption improved.
CPU consumption revised.

FIXES



Crash that only occurred on slow network environments.
Crash related to pulling levers in a specific order.

Patch 0.29.13

Happy new year, Mortals!

Patch 0.29.13:

FEATURES



Item grades updated: the system was overhauled and two new grades where added: "Exceptional" and "Rare".
Loot system updated: to comport the new grade system. Unidentified items are better mostly of the time. For now there is a lack of identifiers, but that will be addressed next with a basic economy.

IMPROVEMENTS


Player interface improved: status bar and inventory graphics.
Item Colors updated, quest-items are now green.

Unreal engine updated to 4.21.

FIXES



Small gargoyles now will also land and walk.
Flying foes becoming stuck after landing.
Ranged foes will not approaches players anymore.
Durability warnings moved to screen's top-left .
Traps not being disposed after dungeon (causing memories leaks).

Patch 0.29.8

Greetings, mortals!

We've been releasing some fixes and also some improvements since our last patch:

IMPROVEMENTS



Loot algorithm redesign: now unidentified items are better most of the time, removed "enhanced" grade and added "rare".
Dungeon generation levers now displays map name and level.

FIXES



AI navigation improved with the new algorithm on every dungeon theme (avoid foes being stuck on geometry). We're still have some issues, specially on first theme on doors and stairs, but its much better overall.
Ranged weapons projectiles collision bugs.
Dark Temple challenge not resetting after failure.

Some of the improvements coming soon are Improved item description UI, including item comparison and new / improved music themes, stay tuned!
