General news and survey

Hi everyone. Sorry for a long time with no updates to my games. I have been very busy with my day job but plan to try and at least fix the most common issues with the games as soon as possible. I also have a survey I would like you to fill out if you have some spare time. It's some general escape the room VR questions and some questions regarding my games. Update v1.2.1

This patch adds the following feature:


  • Updated how the books works. Now you can change hand when gripping with the second hand.
  • Buzzwire is changed how it interacts with the wand to make it less jittery.
  • Changed friction on ballmaze to make it smoother.
  • Fixed bug with new puzzle.

This patch adds new gameplay elements.


New puzzles in hard room


Two new puzzles in the hard room. This is so you don't have to solve the
physically based puzzles like the ball maze and the buzzwire. Since I know people sometimes find these frustrating you can know to solve more brainteasing puzzles instead. But for those how to prefer the physically based puzzles they are still there.

New book system


I got some suggestion for a book system where you can open the books instead of just reading on the back. All books are now openable. Grab with one hand and open with the other.

New hints


Changed some puzzle hints to the better (hopefully)

This patch adds the following feature:


  • The reset button now also resets the ball maze. For example, if the ball is outside of the maze.

Update v1.1.1

This patch contains a fix for the performance problems some players where having. This was due to a faulty number set to the resolution multiplier found in the options panel. This update should remove all faulty values and set it to default at 1.0. If you still having issues check what resolution multiplier your game is using and lower if necessary. If you are still experiencing the problem. Let me know.

Performance issues

I have received reports of performance issues from a few players but it doesn't seem to affect everyone. If you are affected by this I just wanted to let you know I'm working on it.

This patch contains the following changes.


Oculus support


There is now official Oculus support for Dungeon Escape VR. Tested by myself on a rift setup. If there are any issues please let me know.

Engine update


The game has been updated to the latest engine version and now uses the VR expansion plugin. This brings some changes to some basic features. Objects now collide with the environment when moved by the player. This is to bring more immersion to the game.

Reset button


I have gotten reports that players have lost objects outside of the room or somewhere unreachable. You can now reset the room you are currently in. This will only replace movable objects that can be unreachable. Solved puzzles and placed cubes will stay solved.

Rotation on teleport option


Rotation on teleport is now a toggleable option. It's unchecked by default so if you want to be able to rotate with thumbstick or trackpad during teleport check this option.

Resolution multiplier


There is a new graphics option to increase or decrease the resolution to let more players enjoy the game with different hardware specifications.

Whats next?


There is an upcoming patch to change some gameplay elements. A lot of people are frustrated with the maze and buzz wire in the hard room so they will be replaced with more suitable puzzles as well and some minor improvements. In the meantime be sure to check out my other games. Temple of Aluxes and Spacescape. if you liked this game you will probably like them as well.

This patch contains the following changes.

  • Added an option that when enabled scales up the buzz wire wand every time you hit the wire. This is to compensate for jittery controllers due to tracking issues. This setting might also be used if you think it's just too hard to complete these challenges.
  • Added a sound option for the buzz wire that let the users choose between the settings OFF, LOW or ON.
  • Added a sound option for the ball maze similar to the one for the buzz wire.

  • Fix bug that made the buzzwire create infinite sparks.
  • Fix motion controller touchpad rotation when teleporting.
  • Fix quality slider behavior to get better feeling when adjusting it.
  • Fix tumbler movement direction and behavior for a better feeling.
