Keeping DYO in your Steam library

Hello again!

We are glad to see people have been enjoying finally giving DYO a try now that it's free!

Something we didn't know when making the change is that free games disappear from your library after you uninstall them, unless you activate them via a proper Steam key. (If you bought the game before it was free, you're fine!)

Unfortunately Steam doesn't give out keys for free games, so currently the only way to get one is to purchase DYO on itch.io. The good news is, you can pay whatever you want! (Although you will only get a Steam key if you pay at least 1$)

Thanks to everyone who reached out to us about this, we hope this solution works out for people!

DYO is now permanently FREE!

The wait is over!
The full version of DYO is now permanently free. No strings attached.

We hope everyone will enjoy playing this game as much as we did making it!

Get DYO for FREE starting next month!

We're excited to announce that DYO will be permanently available for free on both Steam and itch.io starting July 15th!

A huge thanks to everyone who has been enjoying DYO and supporting us! This has been a great journey and we're happy that you all have been a part of it!

If you purchased DYO through Steam within the last two weeks, you may be eligible for a refund. Steam Refunds

DYO Collector's Edition DLC (33% OFF!)

We're happy to announce the DYO Collector's Edition DLC is now available!

It contains the original DYO soundtrack, several high-resolution artworks, a production art book, and wallpapers.
Plus, you get a copy of the very first playable DYO prototype we made back in 2014!

To celebrate, the Collector's Edition DLC as well as the main game are 33% OFF for a limited amount of time!

DYOLAB Open Beta

The DYOLAB is now open for everyone who owns DYO on Steam.

Check out this Guide on how to join the Beta and get started making your own DYO levels within minutes!

Announcing DYOLAB

People have been asking about it since DYO launched, and now we're happy to finally make an official announcement about what we've been working on in the last weeks:

What is DYOLAB?

DYOLAB stands for the DYO Labyrinth Architects Beta, which is a set of tools allowing owners of DYO to easily create, share, and browse user-created levels for DYO.

How does it work?

DYOLAB consists of three components:

  1. The DYOLAB Editor lets you create and upload your own DYO levels from within the main game. This is the same editor we used during development, so you'll have all the tools you need to design unique and interesting new levels.

  2. The DYOLAB Workshop page where you can browse other people's creations, follow Architects you like or create your own collections of levels you enjoy.

  3. The DYOLAB Steam Group where you can report bugs in the editor, request new features you'd like to see added, or give any other kind of feedback. We will be active in this group and try to work together with you to make DYOLAB as user-friendly as possible.

When can I try it?

DYOLAB will launch into open Beta on March 6th. However, expect the first version to be a little rough around the edges. If you're afraid of encountering bugs, you might want to wait until DYOLAB leaves Beta.
(We don't really know when that will happen yet, though)

What will it cost?

DYOLAB will be completely free for anyone who owns DYO on Steam.

How do I join?

To gain access to DYOLAB, all you need to do is join the DYOLAB Steam Group:

When DYOLAB launches on March 6th, this is where we will post instructions on how to use the editor and the workshop and open the Feedback Forums for bug reports and Feature requests.

Update #1: PS4 Controller support

Hi!
First of all, thanks to everyone who has been playing DYO in the last days and leaving reviews and feedback! We're glad, most of you seem to be enjoying the game so far.

We just pushed an update with a couple of bugfixes.
Some people reported that their PS4 controllers weren't recognized by the game. This should be fixed now. (Button prompts will still appear in the XBox360 layout though.) To everyone affected by this, please feel free to try again and let us know if it works for you now.

Also, please keep it up with the crash reports! We only found out about a lot of bugs because you told us about them. So if you run into any trouble, don't hesitate to write us a message, either through Steam or to our email address: contact@teamdyo.com

Cheers,
Josia

Free Demo Available

Release is happening really soon! To shorten the wait, the first seven levels of DYO are now available to play for free.

If you're still unsure about whether or not DYO is for you, this is the perfect opportunity to give it a try before buying.

The demo (like the full game) can be played alone, so you can check out the demo by yourself before inviting a friend over to play the full game!
