Today, as a Dev Note for the first time since the 4th Beta Test started, we have prepared information on improvements on the usability of the Facility Phase Controller, differentiating Orbis NPCs by grade, and High-Tier Hyena Dropship.
The effect of the Facility Phase Controller previously only affected the houses and survivors, but in this test, the usability has been improved so that various effects are also applied to NPCs.
Depending on the Facility Phase Controller effect, you can lower the difficulty of capturing NPCs to favor your allies or increase the difficulty of obstructing the enemy’s hunting.
1. Chemochamber
1) Air Purification: A ‘Sleep’ effect is applied to living NPCs, stopping their actions. The damage of the first hit is doubled when attacking the target who is affected by the ‘Sleep’ effect. 2) Dust Storm: ‘Enrage’ effect is applied to living NPCs. When the ‘Enrage’ effect is applied, attack power, speed, and HP increase, increasing the difficulty.
2. Geolab
1) Seismic Waves: A ‘Impact’ effect is applied to living and mechanical NPCs, reducing movement speed.
3. Meteo Center
1) Thermal Equilibration: A ‘Sleep’ effect is applied to living NPCs, stopping their actions. The damage of the first hit is doubled when attacking the target who is affected by the ‘Sleep’ effect. 2) Thermal Shock: ‘Frostbite’ effect is applied to living NPCs, taking damage per second and reducing movement speed.

📒 Orbis NPC Upgrade 🤖

📒 New weapon AWS-82 🔫
The Energy DMR AWS-82 will be added through an update during the 4th Beta Test.
Hitting an enemy with the AWS-82 will mark the target, and the bullet will automatically hit the target even if the enemy moves. However, bullet tracking is canceled if the target is out of sight, hiding in cover, and using stealth.
Use the guided bullet function to easily subdue your enemies!
📒 Buildingcore and Superior/Fine Terrasite Balance ⚖️
We will briefly explain the planning direction in relation to the Buildingcore and Fine Terrasite balance that you left comments on the Official community during the previous Pre-Service period.
Buildingcore Balance
First, the energy consumption issue that was excessively reflected in some building parts and installations during the Pre-Service period was improved in this 4th Beta Test. However, energy efficiency is designed to decrease if an excessively large housing is being operated, and this is a plan considering the attack and defense balance of the housing.
Superior/Fine Terrasite Deposit Balance
The balance has been adjusted for the Superior/Fine Terrasite Deposits in order to revalue the Terrasite and to adjust the balance of the Terrasite Transmitter price.
The quantity and distribution locations of the collected Terrasites have changed, and Fine Terrasites that have been obtained with a certain probability have been excluded. ※ Tip! Fine Terrasites can be obtained from Terrasite containers and capsules deployed at Hyena/Orbis/Rocket Bases, and can also be obtained from Field Bosses and Facilities.
Also, please note that the Superior Terrasite Deposits only spawn in Juggernaut Spot Events and in the new Delta region to adjust the difficulty of acquisition.
During this 4th Beta Test, we will continue to improve based on the data obtained by checking the opinions of survivors in various fields as well as Buildingcore and Fine Terrasite Deposit balance.

[Dev Note] New Region and Facility, Map Improvements, and Secure Crates
Hi Survivors, This is Director. K.
Next week, our 4th Beta Test build will finally be released. It really makes our hearts pound and nervous as we are approaching the big event. We should calm our minds as we introduce the Dev Notes to you, Survivors.
Now, what we have prepared for you today are New Region and Facility, Map Improvements, and Security Hacking system.
📋 New Region and Facility🌋
New Areas and Facility have previously been disclosed through the Dev Notes or our roadmap, but this time we will introduce them in more detail.
New Region, Delta
The Delta region is located in the northwest, which we previously blocked access to. Environmentally, it is very barren compared to the existing regions and there are many dangers, so it seems like it would be better to avoid access in the early game if you are a beginner.
Lava flows around this place, so your character’s body temperature will constantly rise as you stay in the area. Direct contact with lava can result in instant death, so be careful while moving near it.
In the Delta region, the ‘Cyclops Tracker’ will appear at all times, impeding access to the Facility. However, it is the only place where you can get the Superior Terrasite except for the Juggernaut run! The challenge will be worth it, right?
5th Facility, Delta Plant
The Delta Plant is a Facility that produces the Superior Terrasite by injecting catalyst materials underground.
It is located in the northwest of the Delta region, and the portal key to enter the Facility can be obtained by engaging the ‘Cyclops Tracker’ in the Delta region.
The inside of the Facility is guarded by ‘Vulkan’, the most difficult boss of Dysterra, so be extra careful. ▲ Dysterra's most difficult boss, Vulcan
The Facility’s unique phase controller features ‘Enhanced Crystallization’ and ‘Crystalline Degradation’, allowing you to gain an edge over other survivors in the ranking competition if successful.
📋 Map Improvements 🌐
The Eternal companion for World exploration, the World Map and Minimap will be improved.
World Map
It is now modified to display official names in significant areas of the World. Now, in addition to the coordinates, it will be possible to communicate more easily by using significant area names, right?
In addition, information such as altitude, vegetation, buildings, and roads is reflected to be expressed in more detail, and as various information is added, a filter function is also provided.
Minimap
The minimap is improved to show the same level of information as the World Map, and the filter settings in the World Map are reflected in the same way.
📋 Secure Crate 👨💻
The Secure Crate has been added that allows you to obtain better rewards than the regular crates.
Depending on the security level of the Secure Crate, you can find low grades in Ruined Building areas and high grades in Hyena and Orbis Buildings.
Unlike other crates, the Secure Crate is highlighted with a hologram, and the required level of Security Hacking skill varies depending on the security level. There is a catch. Security Hacking can fail with probability! Of course, in case of failure, it is possible to give it another shot after a certain period of time. Maybe try reducing the burden by investing in your Security Hacking skills.
When the Security Hacking skill level increases, you can enjoy effects such as cost time reduction, and energy cost reduction, in addition to increasing the success rate.

4th Beta Test Schedule Guide
Hi Survivors, Today, we prepared information about the 4th Beta Test and its schedule.
4th Beta Test will be conducted in the "Dysterra Playtest" app, and you can participate by clicking the 'Playtest Access Request' button which will be displayed in the Dysterra Steam store page on the test start date. ❌ "Dysterra", "Dysterra Demo" app unavailable to play❌
※ During the test period, the game server will operate 24 hours a day. ※ The test schedule may change depending on the circumstances.
📌Additional Info on 4th Beta Test
※ In this 4th Beta Test, 1 PVP and 1 PVE servers will be opened in each region(Total of 6 Servers). (PVP AMERICA, PVP ASIA, PVP EUROPE / PVE AMERICA, PVE ASIA, PVE EUROPE) New servers will be added depending on the number of server participants. ※ If an issue occurs during the test, server restart and temporary maintenance may be carried out without any notice. ※ Single Player Mode and Custom Servers will be available for this test.
📣Invited Guests and Pre-Service Notice
Prior to the opening of the 4th Beta Test on Tuesday, August 30th, a Pre-Service for invited guests (Influencer, etc.) will be held on Friday, August 26th for smooth Beta Testing. ※ Please note that as Influencer/Streamer participates in the 4th Beta Test Pre-Service, Dysterra gameplay related broadcast may be shown. ※ Pre-Service will end before the 4th Beta Test, and all information will be initialized.

[Dev note] Armor Protection function, Sleeping Bag feature, and Recycler

In these days of spurring development, a crazy week has passed and it is already time to deliver this week’s Dev note.
This week, we prepared information about the addition of Armor Protection, improvement of the Sleeping Bag feature, and the Recycler.
📋 Added Armor Protection function 🦺
Have you ever felt frustrated by losing advanced armor after being killed by an NPC or enemy attack? Finally, as a way to reduce the burden in case of death, an Armor Protection function will be added.

Now, even if you die, the armor you are wearing will not drop.
📋 Added Storage feature to Sleeping Bag 🛏
A Sleeping Bag is a must for survivors who do not yet have housing or are exploring areas far from their housing.
Sleeping Bag color variations
Do you all recall fearing the fact that the enemy would find your only green Sleeping Bag in terrain other than the bushes? I’m sure you guys have all been there at least once. Now, the color of the Sleeping Bag changes depending on the terrain it is installed on.

Sleeping Bag Storage features
In order to protect valuable items, it was necessary to create a dedicated Storage Box or housing. Now, Sleeping Bags can store up to 10 items in total.

These stored items in the Sleeping Bag cannot be taken by other survivors even if they find the Sleeping Bag. However, if the Sleeping Bag is destroyed from an enemy attack, the stored items will also disappear. So you need to be extra careful with its usage, right?
📋 Recycler ♻
On August 4th, we briefly introduced the Recycler from our future roadmap, and the details have been finalized.
The Recycler can recycle crafted items and it can be installed in housing. When recycling, you can acquire the materials used to craft the item in a specific ratio.
For example, crafted items such as high-tier weapons that are difficult to repair or Fine Wires that are no longer used can be recycled as resources. However, please note that raw materials such as Terrasites and Electrical Wires; bullets; food; items that cannot be obtained through crafting cannot be recycled.

Following on from our last roadmap, this week we bring you the details of an upcoming update. Please note that the contents reflected in the 4th Beta Test will be released every week through the Dev notes as we have informed you.
📋 High-Tier Regional Events 🪂
Do you remember the regional events such as Orbital Supply and Swooping Attack, where you can get useful items early in the game? We are preparing an upgraded version of these events.
High-Tier Regional event- Orbital Supply
High-Tier regional event- Orbital Supply can now be found at Orbis Buildings located in the local hazard level 2 area. Hacking skills are required to obtain the rewards, but keep in mind that you can get more rewards than before.
High-Tier Regional event- Swooping Attack
Hyena Dropship and Hyena NPCs will appear with increased difficulty. And of course, you can obtain better rewards when you clear them.
📋Turret Modeling Change & Upgrade Function🔫
Existing turrets were modeled the same way as regular turrets that can be found in the field, and could only be distinguished by color depending on the type of ammunition installed.
However, the new type of turrets that we are preparing are expected to reflect clearly differentiated modeling according to the ammunition types.

[Dev note] Future roadmap including the 4th Beta Test

A while ago, we announced the 4th Beta Test news through a notice. Today, we would like to introduce the future roadmap of Dysterra including the 4th Beta Test.
📋 Facility 🏟
Facilities are one of the most important contents in Dysterra. It was designed and developed to allow survivors to use the facility to directly choose the fate of the planet.
It was planned for a long time, but there were various variables in the actual service process, and we were able to determine the direction of improvement through the game play pattern analysis.
In the future, we plan to raise the difficulty level of the facilities to prevent a small number of survivors from taking over the facility phase controller, and we will also adjust the phase controller balance. In particular, there will be many revisions to the Seismic Wave, which had a lot of opinions from survivors.
We will be improving the verdict for NPCs to make better use of the phase controller in PVE servers and singleplayer.
Also, when the upper right area of the map(Gamma) is opened in the future, a very unique facility different from the existing facilities will be prepared, so please look forward to it.
📋 Global ranking system 🏆
We're developing a Global ranking system to honor and reward the last survivors of fierce competition.
In particular, as the end of the world (server) through the terrafire eruption will have a significant impact on the Global ranking, we expect that the attack on facilities and phase control will become more intense.
In addition to the Global ranking leaderboard, the profile menu will provide more detailed information such as rankings, scores, achievements, terrasite transfer points, and PVP/PVE stats.
📋 Weapon 🔫
We are planning to improve the battle by enabling more various types of battles by adding new types of weapons.
A representative example is considering the bullets with guidance function, sustained damage, etc., and we plan to increase usability by adjusting the balance of weapons that had low efficiency.
📋 Building(Housing) 🏡
We are preparing a function to improve the defense and management convenience of the housing, and in particular, we will provide a function to repair damaged building parts more easily.
And the housing(Buildingcore) energy consumption system will continue to be balanced so that it cannot be built abnormally large in scale or to operate abnormally many installations.
📋 Vehicle 🚗
As much as the opinions of survivors, our dev team is greedy for implementing various vehicles.
In the short term, we are preparing the appearance change function of the existing DYNAMO vehicle, and a completely different type of vehicle with an attack function is currently under development.
📋 Recycler ♻
I’m sure it was a pain in the neck to throw away the items that were difficult to obtain but no longer needed.
We are preparing a Recycler that allows you to obtain some of the resources used in crafting at a certain rate.
And the Recycler can be conveniently used by installing it in the housing.
📋 Anti-Cheat 👮
During the service period, various cheat methods were identified, so we have strengthened security through continuous updates, and various functions were added to enable quicker response to the cheaters.
Through this, it is expected that more Hacktools will be blocked fundamentally and a faster response to new cheats will be possible.
And, of course, we will continue to monitor and take action on reports of survivors!
📋 Release Date 📆
As previously announced, Dysterra 4th Beta Test will be held for 1 week from August 30th, and most of the contents introduced above are expected to be showcased during the 4th Beta Test period.
And Dysterra is preparing for an Early Access release in the 4th quarter of 2022, and will continue to provide new content and features after the Early Access.

Dysterra 4th Beta Test Schedule Guide

The 4th Beta Test of Dysterra will start on Tuesday, August 30th, 2022! This test will be conducted for a total of 1 week through the "Dysterra Playtest" App.
📌4th Beta Test schedule - Tuesday, August 30th, 2022 ~ Monday, September 5th, 2022 ※ The detailed time will be announced through a separate notice ※ During the test period, the game server will be operated 24 hours a day.
📌How to Join the Test 1. Visit the Dysterra Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1527890/Dysterra/ 2. Join the Dysterra Playtest > click Dysterra Request Access (Even if you participated in the previous beta tests, you must reapply to participate in the 4th Beta Test) 3. After applying for Dysterra Playtest, you can check the email sent from Steam when the 4th Beta Test starts, or you can check the status of your application through the 'request access' button on the store page. 4. When the requested access for our Playtest is granted, you will be able to find the "Dysterra Playtest" App on your steam library.
When the test begins, select "Dysterra Playtest" in the library tab, install the game and run it. Make sure you play through the "Dysterra Playtest" App instead of the "Dysterra", "Dysterra Demo" App.

Dysterra STEAM SURVIVAL FEST Service Schedule Guide
During the Fest, we plan to open a Demo service so that more gamers can play Dysterra and talk about the game.

📌How to join Steam Survival Fest service
- Steam Survival Fest service will be provided through the Demo App, and you CAN NOT join the service through the Playtest App. - If you want to participate, please visit Dysterra Steam store page, and click ‘Request Access’ button to join the test. After installation, please run the game through the “Dysterra Demo” app, not “Dysterra” app. - “Dysterra”, “Dysterra Playtest” App will not be available.❌❌
📌Additional Info
- During Steam Survival Fest, one PVP server will be opened per region(ASIA, AMERICA), and new servers will be added depending on the number of server participants. * We ask for your understanding as this is a decision to maintain the proper balance of people per server, and we will try to expand the regions and operate PVE servers in the next test. - Single Player mode and Custom server service will be provided. (Custom server is currently being prepared) - Network latency issues may occur depending on the access regions. - In case of an issue with the Demo service, server restart and temporary maintenance may be performed without additional notice. - After the service ends, all information about the game and nicknames will be initialized. - You can check the main terms and policies of Dysterra through the 👉Brand page.

[Dev note] Updates on stability test and upcoming schedules
Hi Survivors,
This is Director. K, It’s been a while since I’ve said hello. 👋
I hope you all enjoyed our CBT and the demo. I would like to thank you all again for the valuable feedback as well.
For that, Dysterra was able to evolve in many ways. One of the big pillars of the feedback was the server stability and anti-cheat issues, so we still have the ‘playtest’ feature up to make it work better.
Stability Test Progress?
We have identified and improved the following major performance bottlenecks:
📋NPC optimization🤖
Since many NPCs can emerge simultaneously within the game world, we have adjusted the number of active NPCs so that the total quantity is appropriate for server performance. AI for NPCs is also under tuning process, they might feel a little slow, but when the overall server issues become better, AI will become better along with it.
📋Object collision optimization🚧
Depending on user activities in game, crash handling was one of the big bottlenecks within the server. There have been several optimization related to this issue over the past month.
📋Buildings Optimization🏢
We have found that complexity of the building built by the players put a lot of load within the server. This issue is under process of optimization.
📋Anti-cheat👮
Since we have first seen cheats being used, a lot of structural loopholes with unauthorized illegal programs have been constantly been filled. Consequently, we are seeing dramatic reduction in number of cheats being used.
It is difficult to disclose all details about the measures we will be taking. Even now, however, we are trying our best to block all unauthorized illegal programs and viewing user activities through various methods.
Aside from these measures being taken through anti-cheat solution and the client itself, our GMs are constantly viewing user activities through in-game monitoring as well. However, we ask for your understanding that it may take some time as the investigation on cheats needs to be carried out in a precise manner to prevent unnecessary banning on wrong players.
What are your future plans for Dysterra?
The stability test that is on-going right now will end soon, and the exact date will be announced 3 days before it ends. Also, please note that the existing game information (nickname, etc.) will be wiped at the end of the test.
In addition, apart from the stability test, we are working on various new contents and improvements to the existing system. Let me give you a slight glimpse into what we are preparing. These updates include bigger map, female chracters, and new weapons as we’ve announced earlier.
📌Global ranking system🏆
Some of you may have already realized that we have been constantly strengthening our ranking system. Everything was a stepping stone for this upcoming global ranking system. Every actions that you take in-game will affect the overall ranking. Most importantly, it is crucial to survive till the last in each world. It is only natural to feel proud about being ranked high, but we are also preparing some rewards that can be obtained depending on the rankings. Additional details about the rewards will be released later on.
📌Reinforced item recovery in case of death🧐
Safety slots in the inventory already exists, but to reduce the risk of dying in game. We are going to make the system even easier to re-collect your items.
📌Added functions to sleeping bags⛺
To reduce the burden of having a building (shelter) for yourself, and to encourage more field action, we will be adding new functions to the sleeping bag. Sleeping bags will now have a storage function as well, Items in the sleeping bag will not be lootable, but sleeping bags will still be vulnerbale to attacks and can be destructed by other players.
