Hi everyone,
Hope you've had a great Summer Sale so far!
Right now we're working on a new update for Imperium — first of all, it should reduce the game's loading times upon finishing a turn. You can try out the preview version of this patch through the closed branch on Steam.
Also, we'd really like to thank everyone who took their time to chat with our pirate developer and even follow his advice :) So thanks a lot!

Update Notes (June 7)
Good news, everyone: in a few minutes there will be a new patch for Eador. Imperium. This update will bring a new Sandbox mode, several bug-fixes and updated leaderboards. You may check the patch notes below, but we also have something to declare: we are aware of the remaining issues and the new team is working on it frantically. Thanks for your comments, your criticism and your save files – that helps a lot.
And while we are pushing our programmers with “The best from thrash metal 1991-1993″ mp3 collection on repeat (don’t worry, they get used for these motivational procedures) – we suggest you a one hour homework edition of
Summer Madness by Kool & the Gang . Because summer is here (first summer day in Moscow, actually). By the way, we consider Vice City the best game in GTA series, what is your thought on this? And now please read below to know more about the latest fixes.
Update notes 2.61.2:
New:
We added the Sandbox mode to the game, featuring a dynamic campaign consisting of arbitrary amount of random maps, with a possibility to transfer heroes between them.
Fixed:
– Boosted province exploration speed a bit.
– Initiative attribute now works as designed; the army with higher Initiative moves first in battle.
– Fixed an error in difficulty settings GUI, causing the “Neutrals HP” attribute to be set at maximum.
– Fixed an error with inability to leave the Arena location.
– Removed excess 4 rank slot in the garrison and hero army screens.
– Reverted test values in Steam leaderboards.
About latest post
Hi everyone,
We think we need to clear a couple of things.
First of all, we do see all the complaints that look like "What leaderboards? Fix the damn bugs first". So yes, just to be clear — adding new features doesn't cancel work on fixing bugs in any way. Bugfixing is an ongoing process, we just don't always focus on that in our news. We can vow to "never add any new features without fixing all the bugs ever", but with that attitude we won't be able to move the project any further.
Another thing — leaderboard statistics. We began collecting data long before the announcement itself. So in the near future we'll do some tweaking and make the statistics look normal. In addition, we agree with the comments on how we should define the best: current results are too abstract, we'll add more specifics.
Thanks again to everybody who finds time to give us feedback! We'll do our best to not let you down.
Leaderboards
Hi everyone,
As you know, we've added Steam Leaderboards for Imperium in the latest update. And today we'd like to talk about competition among the very best. It's really nice to see the leaderboards filling with more players — we'll probably have around 400 people on the board pretty soon.
For instance, this is our top 5 players in the "Battles Won" category:
Would you like to see any other specific category in the leaderboards? Or maybe some kind of competition that would show who's the best on one specific map, for a limited time?
Let us know here in the comments — we'd like to know what you think.
