Big stories are always told by great characters. In this story, our hero Galand is accompanied by a singular magic shield, called Runestone. It was a unique gift from The Elder Protectors, which were introduced last week in this post.
Runestone is a powerful magic shield, which can learn new abilities throughout the game. Those new abilities will be powerful options that will improve your combat skills. In some cases, you would need those abilities to overcome the levels.
There're also some special actions that Runestone is able to do, like… carrying Galand’s weight and making him surf through the beautiful red landscapes of Oblena! Sounds cool, right? It is!
In order to make the power of Runestone stronger, you’ll need to feed it. For that, it will be useful to collect the rune stones spread out the Oblena region. It’s very easy to find them, as they shine so brightly. Moreover, there are a lot of them!
Only two weeks remaining for the release! Soon you’ll be able to live the adventure with Runestone. Meanwhile, you can add Effie to your wishlist!
According to a legend, a long time ago, there was a temple where all of the world's decisions were taken. It was in a far away land, very close to the Forgotten Lands, like Oblena. Those who used to take that important decisions were called The Elder Protectors. For sure, they were gods in this world, as they had an incomparable magic power.
The Elder Protectors looked after the world during thousands of years. Everyone revered them and a temple was built for their veneration in every region of the world. But, little by little, they lost their devotees and with them, their power diminished, until they were practically forgotten.
In Effie, you’ll visit two temples: The Temple of the Elder Protectors and the Temple of Oblena. The first one is the original, where those pure magic beings used to be. And it's the starting point of this fantasy tale. The second one is the temple built in the red region of Oblena. The gaze of those who see everything is also present there.
The Elder Protectores will accompany you during your adventure. They will show you the way. Your way.

As most of you know, Effie was launched some months ago in PlayStation 4. Because of the situation at that time, we could only launch the game in English and Spanish. During the port we’ve been able to extend the languages, and the great news is that the PC edition will also be in French and German!
We would like to translate Effie into more languages, but it’s not possible at the moment. Anyway, we'd like to hear you, so please write in the comments in which language would you like to play Effie, because your language can be the next!
We’ve great news: Effie is finalist at the Indie X and AVAV awards!
In the IndieX we share the nomination with games like Summer in Mara, Decay of Logos or Haven; and in the AVAV awards, our rivals are our friends from Path to Mnemosyne and Fear The Dark Unknown.
We're very excited that we've been chosen as finalists in these awards, and whether we win or not, it's already a great honor for us to get there.
Effie is near to close the development of Effie for PC platform, and we remind you it will be released on January 28!
The Vineyards is one of the settlements in Oblena. It’s clearly recognized by its two enormous barrels, which can be seen from miles away. The city is close to those barrels, but mystic things happen inside them.
Despite the fact the evil has invaded the region, the barrels are still a grape juice factory, since the imps have continued working there. The only difference is that those imps have changed the grape juice recipe, more adapted to their tastes.
Here’s a pic of the city, where there’s nothing very special. However, it’s a beautiful place and, internally in the studio, we call it The Little Venice, because it looks quite similar.
I won’t go much further, because I want you to explore the whole factory and there’re a lot of places in the settlement. However, to conclude, I want to show you pictures of two cool places that you can find inside the factory.
The first one is the museum. The museum? Yes, the best factories have one!
The second one is the Uonka level. It's super cool as it will remind you to some sweet places!

We’ve great news: Effie is coming to Steam on January 28!
If you’re new here, Effie is a 3D action-platformer game that combines classic elements from the genre, such as combat, platforming, and puzzles, with the exploration of an expanded world. It will remind you a lot to other classic PlayStation games like Jak & Daxter, Maximo or Ratchet and Clank, as they’ve been an inspiration for its development!
If you already knew us, thank you so much for your patient. We’ve been working very hard during the last months to bring Effie to PC, and we’re already testing a fairly final version. Although at the beginning our intention was to launch Effie in autumn, we’ve prioritized releasing a more polished game, and we want to say sorry for this delay.
We want to keep you informed of all news related to Effie so we’d appreciate a lot if you could add Effie to your wishlist! Moreover, it will help us to gain some visibility.

Get ready to surf over your shield!
Hi folks!
Today we wanted to show you the surf mechanics. The red region of Oblena is huge. There are some cities/settlements and many places to discover, so Galand needed a vehicle to make it fun to move around!
And we thought: okay, fighting with a shield like Captain America is cool, but what if he also surfs over it? That would be awesome!! So that’s what we did: a multipurpose shield.
Apart from surfing over the shield throughout the Oblena region, you can find multiple turbos scattered around it, as well as huge jumps... when you want to notice, you'll think: am I flying?

Meet Windmills City
The story of Effie takes place in the Red Plains of Oblena, a vast red meadow, characterized of course by its red vegetation. This region has several cities and settlements, and one of them is Windmills City, of which we are going to make a small introduction today.
Windmills City is the closest town to the Temple of the Elder Protectors, an sacred ancient place in Oblena. It is surrounded by wheat fields and stands out with its large central mill. It also has five other tower-mills, and joined together, these create a huge fortress-city.
Within the city we can find places such as the market, the housing area or the great hall. There is also a small stream that crosses the city.
But its extension isn't limited to what it contains. In the game, you can climb the fortress or even enter to it. One by one, you can go through all its towers.

We’re back after some weeks of the release of Effie on PlayStation® 4. This happened on June 4, and since then, it has received a lot of love from this platform users, so we can only say thanks to all of them.
Effie has been developed under PlayStation® Talents, a PlayStation® program that helps talented teams to bring their games to PlayStation® 4, and we're very grateful to them for making this possible.
But now it’s the turn of Steam®!
We’ve been working on the port to PC during the last weeks and it’s all going so fast! Stay tunned, because Effie will be released early autumn for all of you. As soon as we know the final release date, we’ll announce it on our social networks (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram), as well as here.
