What is it? Long story short - during the game you will receive Shards after defeating Ancient Gods. Next, you can use them to upgrade the abilities of your hero. But how exactly you will use them - that depends on you! There are almost endless possibilities. Thanks to dozens of abilities you will eventually can choose from hundreds of different builds!
Remember: ⚔️ Your Build. Your Rules. ⚔️

Never enough of good old hack’n’slash… Get ready for yet another Eldest Souls speedrun contest, where you can win a free game key 💪 This time we have three different competitions. More info below.
Competition #1 - Standard Mode ⚔️ Beat three bosses (The Watchdog, The Guardian and Azikel) in the standard game mode as quick as you can! ⚔️ The player with the best time will receive a key to a full version of Eldest Souls (once the game is released).
Competition #2 - Abyss Mode - The Guardian ⚔️ Beat The Guardian in the Abyss mode as quick as you can! ⚔️ Use Talent Points and Shards provided to you in this mode to gain an advantage! There are many ways to approach bosses. You decide. Remember - Your Build. Your Rules! ⚔️ Before starting your fight, make sure to show your Build. ⚔️ The player with the best time will receive a key to a full version of Eldest Souls (once the game is released).
Competition #3 - Abyss Mode - Azikel ⚔️ Beat Azikel in the Abyss mode as quick as you can! ⚔️ As with The Guardian - use various Talent Points and Shards! ⚔️ Before starting your fight, make sure to show your Build. ⚔️ 3 players with the best time will receive a key to a full version of Eldest Souls (once the game is released).
⚔️ And as an extra bonus, the most impressive videos will be featured on an official Eldest Souls - Speedrunners Showcase video! This applies to all the competition.
How to join a contest? ⚔️ First, download demo from Store Page: Eldest Souls on Steam. ⚔️ Standard Mode - launch the game and press "T" in the Main Menu to activate the timer on the top right of the screen. Time will start automatically when you gain control of the character and stop when you trigger the "endslate" at the end of the demo. ⚔️ Abyss Mode - this time mode is available without beating the whole demo, just choose it from the main menu. The in-game timer will start automatically at the beginning of the fight, and will stop once the encountered boss is defeated. ⚔️ When competing in the Abyss Mode category, you will have time to customize your build before the fight starts, with NEW talents and shards that are not available in the base demo! ⚔️ Remember that in the Abyss Mode competitions, you must display your chosen Build in your submitted video before starting a fight. ⚔️ Don't forget to start recording before you start to play or you may miss your best time! ⚔️ Submit your video before 2020.09.21 23:59 (CEST)!

Lots has changed since our last Demo, and we decided to make a small recap for all you lovely people out there. We also prepared for you special contest! More info below.
New Progression System: Infusions
Our Talent Tree is joined by the final piece of our Progression System : The Infusions 😤 Defeating the Old Gods will reward players with Shards, the embodiment of their power.
However, in our new system, Players will be able to "Infuse" those Shards into their base toolkit for attacks, dashes, and even the Talents themselves!
Each infusion will have a different effect, and can be switched around at any time, unlocking a wide range of different builds and play-styles, giving players more freedom than ever before!
Moreover, we've completely reworked our Fury branch, with a whole new active skill, passive effects and talent nodes!
Player controls: Tighter & Faster!
We've gathered an incredible amount of feedback in the last public demos, and thanks to your input we've had the data to overhaul our player-control system.
We've reduced animation-lock times, added animation-cancel to attacks, fastened the dash speed, reaction time and severely increased the overall responsiveness of all player inputs.
Our goal is to keep the game's difficulty intact, while making the game feel more fair by giving players more agency over the character actions and movements.
New areas, Npcs and Boss(es?)
Doors that were once closed now lay open: Delve deeper into the Citadel, find clues and relics of its ancient past, unlock new talents and skills and face even stronger, darker opponents...
Abyss Mode Contest
But wait, there's more! Prove your worth by completing the Demo, and you will unlock the daunting Abyss Mode, where twisted, corrupted foes will be awaiting the daring.

What are the prizes? ⚔️ 5 codes for a full version of Eldest Souls will go to the 5 players with the best time in Abyss Mode, where they need to kill the Abyss Guardian as fast as they can!
