Here's a minor update for you all today! Got a bug report regarding some saving issues a player was having, which just goes to show how sometimes gamedevs can't think of every situation players may get themselves into.
In any case, I hope this helps people! Enjoy!
Elephantasy v1.8.7: - Changed how saving works; previously, when closing the game, the program would tally any gem/key collection at one time, and save it to the game's files; this was done to (hopefully) help performance. However, if the game closed in an unexpected way, this saving would sometimes not get triggered, which lead to progress being lost, and/or collected gems/keys being removed from the world forever. To circumvent this, item collection is now also saved at the same time that the items are collected. In hindsight, this seems like what I should have done anyway, but I guess I didn't. Go figure!
Elephantasy Update 1.8.6
Hey all! Long time no talk!
I've recently released a sequel/spinoff to Elephantasy that I highly encourage folks to check out if they like my games. It's fairly different, but also fun in its own way, I think. That said, there's been a bit of interest in the original game because of this, leading to this bugfix. Might be a bit too little too late in some respects, but I think it's still important to sort this stuff out. Cheers!
Elephantasy v1.8.6:
- Fixed a bug in the Ice Master fight where his fists would fly offscreen and despawn, leading to a crash. His fists should now no longer despawn offscreen, dodging this issue.
Elephantasy Price Increase
Hey all,
I've posted about this on Twitter, but to reiterate here, I'm going to be increasing the prices of a number of my projects across their respective storefronts in the new year; this includes Elephantasy. I've felt as though I'm undercharging for a while now, and I've finally decided to remedy that situation. Once Valve approves the price increase, Elephantasy will be $9.99 USD as opposed to $4.99 USD. Thank you for understanding, and if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to me at my email, linkerbm@gmail.com.
Best wishes and Happy New Year, -Linker
Elephantasy Birthday Bugfixes (v1.8.5)
Hey all!
Just ran through Elephantasy 100% for the first time in a while, and found a bug that I didn't realize was in there, so I've patched it out.
That being said, it's also been one year since Elephantasy released! I'd like to thank everyone who's downloaded the game on here. I can only hope you've enjoyed this little game as much as I enjoyed making it. I'm not entirely sure how many more substantial updates are in the works for it, but I think it's still a fun little puzzler, and if you've put it down in the past, I'd recommend picking it up again; you might just find something new!
Elephantasy v1.8.5:
- Fixed a bug with the Ice Master encounter; the boss wouldn't try to attack with his fists, meaning that the player would need to use vines to get up higher. Now, the boss should attack with his fists, allowing the player to use them as platforms to climb as originally intended.
Elephantasy Update v1.8
Hey everyone! It's been a while since the last substantial update! This one isn't too impressive, but there are a few fun easter eggs that have been added, and a small change to the final boss to make it easier to complete the game generally. Enjoy, and as always, let me know if you have any issues!
Elephantasy v1.8:
- Updated file format of the game executable to avoid being falsely flagged as malware; this has been an issue for some of my other games on itch.io, so I figured I'd make the change here as well, just to be safe. - Changed final encounter to only have 2 phases unless you have 100% completion gem-wise. This should allow casual players to more easily complete the game. - Added easter egg with Snorri on Friday nights. - Added visual changes to the game for Halloween, Xmas, & New Years. - Added visual changes to the game for the game's "birthday" and my birthday.
