It's finally here! Ember Knights 2.0 - Wrath of the Architect is now available!
We've been hard at work on some form of the DLC for the past year and we can't wait for you to finally get your hands on it. Ember Knights has been a passion project for the entire team here at Doom Turtle and we feel extremely grateful to be able to put together one hell of a DLC. We hope you love it!
The DLC is absolutely packed with new content and features including new worlds, new bosses and minibosses, new enemies, new weapons, new skills, new relics, new curses, new secrets, new player colors, new achievements, new difficulty modifiers, and of course, the epic showdown against the Architect! PLUS, the DLC also includes everything from the free Ember Knights 2.0 update including Daily Dungeons, Boss Rush Mode, Chaos Mode, local multiplayer save and quit, more player colors, and who can forget...the beloved Nexus pets, the Ember Dog AND Ember Cat! Huge shoutout to our community for absolutely obliterating the Ember Cat challenge!

Boss Fights
This DLC comes with 4 new bosses and 4 new minibosses. The gatekeepers of the altered new worlds will show no mercy, especially to that of a measly Ember Knight.
If you manage to survive these deadly new bosses, prepare for the ultimate showdown as you take on the creator of the entire Ember Knights universe himself - The Architect!
Weapons
2 new weapons will be added to your repertoire - the Hyper Gloves and the Ember Buster. Both weapons offer a unique new way to defeat the legions of new enemies waiting for you in this DLC.

Fancy an even tougher challenge than the Architect? Stop by to see The Collector and gain access to Daily Dungeons and Boss Rush Mode. He may have even taken a page out of Arlan's book and opened up a small shop of his own!

FAQ
I bought the DLC, when will I get the new content? Spoilers ahead.
If you're a brand new player, the DLC content will unlock after meeting Evee and seeing Praxis in Steadfast Citadel, the second world of the base game. Note: these two conditions occur very early in the game and are required to preserve the flow of the story.
If you're already a player, the DLC content will unlock right away.
Does the DLC work in multiplayer?
Yes
Do my friends need to buy the DLC for us to play together?
No. If the host has purchased the DLC, the team will have access to the new content. However, for a client to have the new content on their own account, they would need to purchase the DLC.
Are the different game modes available in multiplayer?
Yes

We bring you a small update to address a few bugs and close off the Ember Cat Challenge. First thing's first, you're due a huge congratulations for absolutely crushing the challenge!
We still can't believe how you blew the goal completely out of the water! Needless to say, the Ember Cat is getting made and will be included in the free Ember Knights 2.0 Update! Thank you for your participation!

Ember Cat and Astral Ascent Collaboration Update
Hello, Knights!
This is a bit of a surprise update since we originally planned to cease updates between 1.5 and Ember Knights 2.0 - Wrath of the Architect, but the following content could not be ignored!
EMBER CAT - GLOBAL COMMUNITY CHALLENGE
We've heard your requests for an Ember Cat to go along with our adorable Ember Dog, so we've created a global community challenge for our players to show us that there's enough interest for an Ember Cat. If there is, we are committed to making the Ember Cat a reality!
When you first launch the 1.5.2 update, you'll see a new icon on the main menu. Opening that will provide more information as to how the challenge works. In short, just keep doing what you do - go on runs, kill enemies, kill minibosses and bosses, and earn points! Once in the Nexus, visit the new Wanted sign that the Stewards have so carefully built. This will be your home for keeping track of your personal progress as well as the global points total. For your individual efforts, we've added some fun new rewards!
ASTRAL ASCENT COLLABORATION
We've been talking to the wonderful people over at Hibernian Workshop and it turns out, they're huge fans of Ember Knights! We also love what they're doing with Astral Ascent, so we decided to collaborate! We love what we've come up with and we think you will too!
Both games feature crossover content and in Ember Knights, you'll now see a cute little Yalee running around the Nexus. Interact with them and they'll give you a brand new skill - the Yalee Barrage. In addition, they'll also give you the Astral Ember Dust to unlock a brand new player color!
Also be sure to check out the latest update from Astral Ascent (also live today!) as they created their version of the Praxis fight!

Nexus News - Ember Cat and a Surprise Collaboration!

Welcome back for another edition of the Nexus News! We have some exciting things to talk about so without further ado, let's dive right in!
As you know, our original plans involved taking a break with updates after 1.5 as we push to the finish line for Ember Knights 2.0 - Wrath of the Architect. However, we've had a few things come up that were too compelling to ignore, so we're going to be releasing an interim 1.5.2 update on September 5th - more on that later!
INTRODUCING HYDRA!
We're getting closer and closer to the release of Ember Knights 2.0, so we wanted to take this opportunity to show you a little more about one of the powerful new skills that will be available in Wrath of the Architect.
The Hydra is a versatile skill that's effective at both short and long distances. Upgrades for the Hydra will increase its versatility as well as its power.
Hydra: Ranged Attack
Is that enemy too far away to punch? Fear not, summon a Hydra!
Hydra: Melee Attack
Are Shroombanes getting a little too close for comfort? It's a good thing Hydra has Fire Breath!
Hydra: Combination Attack
But wait, what if an enemy is too quick for the projectile? Fear not dear player, the Hydra will adjust its attacks so no Mini Shroombane gets left behind.

In addition to the Hydra, you may have heard that Wrath of the Architect will include the adorable Ember Dog! And it's official, you will be able to pet the Ember Dog!

We've heard from quite a few of you requesting an equally adorable Ember Cat. As you can imagine, development is extremely tight with so much content coming in Wrath of the Architect, but we didn't want to write off the possibility quite yet.
So....we're doing this: to show us how popular of a suggestion the Ember Cat is, we've created a Global Community Challenge for you to make your voices heard!
If the community can come together to show us that enough people want the Ember Cat, we'll squeeze it in!
GLOBAL COMMUNITY CHALLENGE!
From September 5th until September 19th, collect points by killing enemies and bosses. The more you kill, the more points you earn! There's also a cute little kitten hiding in the worlds. Find the hidden kitty and collect even more points! If the community can collect enough points, we will design and implement the Ember Cat and include it as part of the free Ember Knights 2.0 update!
On September 5th, update 1.5.2 will go live and all the information about the Global Community Challenge will be included!

SECRET COLLABORATION - ASTRAL ASCENT

Needless to say, we're also big fans of Astral Ascent and after one of our Discord members, Pac planted the seed about a possible collaboration, we had to look into it! Hibernian has been wonderful to work with and we think we've each come up with something special for you!

We've heard your feedback, so we've decided to put out a small update to address some of your concerns. While we didn't roll back every change, we hit the ones that we feel are the most problematic.

Hello, Knights!
How are you liking the Skills Mastery Update? We've seen the videos and screenshots of some of the busted upgrade combinations (*cough* Dice *cough*) so rest assured, we'll be looking to make some balancing changes in 1.5. Until then, we hope you have fun with them!
Now, no update is complete without a few annoying bugs, so we decided to put out a patch to address them! Please see below for everything that's included in this hotfix patch.

Reduced the cost in half for unlocking skill upgrades
Decreased the attack speed on the Praxis hands attack 🔥

Skill Upgrading
Skill upgrades are something we've wanted to implement for awhile now so here we go! With Evee's help, every skill can be upgraded in multiple ways and once they're unlocked, they can be equipped in any order. Mix and match upgrades for awesome and powerful synergies!
PAX Competition Mode
The PAX Competition was such a big success in Boston that we decided to make it available for everyone! Access the new mode via the Main Menu!
Be sure to practice as we'll be introducing some contests related to the Competition Mode closer to 2.0!

Upgrades include 3 specific upgrades and 1 Ultimate upgrade for each skill as well as a handful of general upgrades that can be applied to any skill.
General Upgrades
Upgrade 1 - Increases crit chance
Upgrade 2 - Increases damage
Upgrade 3 - Adds 1 additional charge
Upgrade 4 - Defeating an enemy with a skill heals
Upgrade 5 - Reduces the number of hits to refresh

Ultimate Upgrade - Bombs explode into 3 smaller cluster bombs
Arcane Bolts
Upgrade I - Your bolts become ghosts. Whenever you defeat an enemy with a ghost bolt, another is summoned to seek and damage additional enemies
Upgrade II - Your bolts are imbued with a random element of burn, freeze, poison, or lightning
Upgrade III - Your bolts release in an expanding circle
Ultimate Upgrade - Arcane Bolts refreshes quicker
Rupture
Upgrade I - The ground is ruptured dealing damage over time

Upgrade I - Increases max Wisps by 1. Wisps no longer have a lifetime
Upgrade II - You gain weapon damage for each Wisp you have

Frost Wall
Upgrade I - Whenever an enemy is defeated by Frost Wall, they explode dealing damage and freeze enemies behind them
