Today we’re bringing you Hotfix 1.12! Due to some changes in Unity, Vulkan has been causing input lag for a number of players. Because of this, and because we have been working on optimization with DX11 that addressed earlier graphical issues, we are deciding to switch the default launch setting back to DX11.
This should resolve the input lag issue. If you prefer Vulkan or run into any issues with DX11, you can still switch to Vulkan via the launch dialog. Thanks for all your help diagnosing this problem and working with us to optimize for DX11!
Now you can get back out there and feed those clients!
1.12 Hotfix:
Efforts towards fixing crashes + graphical issues in DX11.
Made DX11 the default launch option. This should help mitigate input delay that a number of players experienced. If you run into any issues with DX11 or prefer Vulkan, please select Vulkan at game start.
New Feature & Update on Input Lag Issue
Hey Respondrs!
We have a new feature and an update on the input lag issue that people have been reporting.
Update on Input Lag Issue
With the issue of input lag when running with Vulkan (the default game start option). This is looking like an issue that the game engine we used introduced in their latest update, and it is unfortunately affecting the game. We’re working to find a mitigation for this problem, but until then, here are a few workarounds that could help alleviate the issue:
Turn off Vsync in Video Settings in game.
Play the game in windowed mode
Start and play the game with the “Play Embr (DX11)” start option
Hope this helps! Thanks for your patience and really sorry for the issue everyone!
Steam Cloud Support
We’re also happy to announce that Embr now supports Steam Cloud!
In order to create the Steam Cloud save file, please launch Embr on your computer and change a loadout to make it save (look for the “saving” icon in the lower right corner of the screen). That should have your save data saved on Steam Cloud!
If you encounter any issues with Steam Cloud or have any other issues, please feel free to email us at feedback@musegames.com anytime.
Thanks so much again!

Embr has burst onto Steam Early Access
We're so excited to announce that frantic, frenetic, firefighting multiplayer Embr launches on Early Access for Steam today! [previewyoutube="2BjiEmVejdk;full"] With Embr, we set out to shine a satirical light on the gig-economy - not in terms of the people making those deliveries and driving those taxis, but rather the companies at the top powering this particular brand of venture capitalism and deregulation.
On a gameplay basis, we also wanted to see just what mayhem would occur if the untrained masses headed out with a hose and tried to put out fires in the same way people deliver take-out or drive people around in makeshift taxis. The end result is fun, frenetic, and just as barmy as we thought it would be. It just makes you appreciate what a difficult and almost impossible job real-life firefighters do.
Embr launches on Steam Early Access today for $19.99/€19.99/£17.99 with a 20% discount in launch week. You can expect multiple free major content drops in the months after launch significantly expanding the game. We'll also continue to diligently work with the community to further shape the Embr experience based on feedback and suggestions. Having trouble? Get in touch!
It's amazing to finally get Embr into your hands during Early Access. Let us know what you think!
Hold Onto Your Hoses: Embr launches into Early Access on May 21st!
This is not a drill! We repeat, this is not a DRILL! Embr, the frantic firefighting game where you can tackle big blazes for big bucks, is coming to Early Access on Steam 21st of May 2020.
[previewyoutube="TzXVY3fl40I;full"] Embr casts a comedic light on just what madness would occur if the untrained masses headed out with a hose and tried to put out fires in the same way people deliver take-out or ferry folk around in makeshift taxis. Turns out it’d be just as magnificently manic as it sounds. It just makes you appreciate what a difficult and almost impossible job real-life firefighters do.
Embr will offer players a variety of missions to earn money and upgrade their firefighting tools and lease better vehicles and fire trucks, all while dealing with competition from the Canadian firefighting startup Hosr. Staying competitive, however, relies on players working together, planning firefighting and rescuing in dense environments with complex systems interactions; water, fire, gas, electricity, and structure integrity all have a role to play.
Embr will launch on Steam Early Access on Thursday, May 21st, 2020 for $19.99/€19.99/£17.99 with a 20% discount in launch week. We'll be bringing you multiple free major content drops in the months after launch to significantly expand the game, so stay tuned for more info.
We can't wait for you to get stuck into Embr on May 21st!

Muse Games partners with Curve Digital to launch Embr: Über Firefighters
Do we really need to hit 911/999 when we spot smoke streaming from a building? Yes, yes we do. But let’s imagine an alternative reality where all such emergencies are handled by the people on the street - where anyone from a lowly indie game dev, to a publishing executive, can supplement their wages by driving an ambulance on the side, or fill their time after work by performing surgery on the backstreets.
That's the amazing reality we've imagined in Embr, and we're excited to announce we're partnering with publisher Curve Digital to bring the multiplayer sim into Steam Early Access in Spring 2020.
Embr is set in a hyper-capitalist, deregulated alt-present world where public firefighting funding has run dry, and venture capitalism and e-hailing rule the roost. If that all sounds rather loaded - and, indeed, familiar - the gameplay itself is far more upbeat. It’s fair to say our take on firefighting isn’t your everyday simulator.
Our ‘Embr Respondrs’ might be untrained and unskilled, but they’re a creative bunch, and it’s fair to say their solutions for putting out those domestic blazes are as brilliantly makeshift as they are ridiculously entertaining.
Embr will launch on Steam Early Access in Spring 2020. You can expect regular content updates in the months after Early Access launch to significantly expand the game. As always, we're looking forward to your suggestions and feedback to improve the game.
We can't wait to get Embr into your hands later this year! Be sure to add it to your Steam Wishlist today!
