End of Days

End of Days to be Retired

It is sad to announce, but Archage Studios will be retiring End of Days. We feel as though it was not our destiny to move forward with a zombie survival, With the obstacles we faced, it was something that should have been discussed before taking it into Early Access, we were a new studio and saw the potential, but the execution was done incorrectly.

After much deliberations, discussions and arguments (sadly). We have decided to end future development of End of Days and lay it to rest.

We appreciate everyone who has given us feedback, whether it be good or bad! We have not stopped our passion for development though, we started a project that we are close to announcing and sharing with the world, but this time we are doing it very differently and making sure we don't get too over our heads.

Happy Holidays!

End of Days: Current Status

Hello Survivors!

We appreciate all of those who have been patient with us, and has stuck it out during the development process of End of Days. We know we have been silent for a bit, but have not given up hope! We still continue to work on End of Days on a daily basis, as we have high hopes for what the game can eventually offer to the community!

During this year we have faced a lot of ups and downs during development that have set us back immensely. Now although we won't get too deep into those issues, we can scratch the surface of where things got really difficult. One of the biggest hurdles was cost of development, as everyone may know producing a game is never an easy or cheap task. It takes hundreds upon hundreds of hours to complete very small things within a game, and even so when one thing is done wrong it breaks 10 other things that need investigation.

Another big issue we faced is developers who have caused major setbacks to the development, due to creative differences, lack of holding accountability, etc. Through those hurdles, we have continued to fight for the project!

We come today not with bad news, but with positive news that End of Days is still in development no matter what! We have been working on End of Days for over 2 years, and have no signs of stopping. Our team has a huge passion for development and will not stop until End of Days is at a better state than what it originally was. We are all passionate gamers who went into game development, we may have gotten a little ambitious, but that doesn't mean we can't accomplish it.

Although more time is needed to complete End of Days, we have for our sanity had to take a small break from the constant grind of End of Days, and have taken on another side project for the future. We fully expect End of Days to be ready for release very soon, whether it be the end of 2022 or quarter 1 of 2023. Just know that we have not stopped, and want to give you all what you deserve!

As always, we thank everyone for their commitment to the project and the studio and cannot wait to present to you the future of End of Days. We hope everyone continues to stick with us and support us during our studios endeavors!

Regards,
Archage Studios

END OF DAYS - UPDATE MARCH 2022

We are proud to share with you a quick look into the new world of End of Days. We have been working months to reproduce the project in a whole new system and enhance it beyond the max! We have partnered with another studio to help tackle the stages of development. Although we still have a lot to do, we are excited to announce that we are close to releasing the first official patch for the brand new system!

What's coming to End of Days?

Not all below features will go live in the patch, this is a general list of what's to come.

  • Our official new End of Days logo has gone live!
  • A new map created to enhance the performance on player's computers. With continuous optimization, we are working towards a seamless map with very little performance issues.
  • A new zombie structure to add some more intense threats into the world. Our zombies will be enhanced to travel in packs, as well as be very sensitive to sounds. Over time the infected will mutate to be stronger, faster and deadlier!
  • Enhanced weapon system, with a variety of weapons we are offering players a ton of options to defend themselves against whatever comes at them!
  • We are integrating Arch Accounts, which provides us the option to provide full support both in-game and out of game. Ensuring your progress, data and in-game purchases are saved. We will be able to check account history, inventory and playtime to help with any issues you may run into. These accounts will also work with future studio games for storing data.
  • Enhanced player specializations will be integrated to make each player unique to the world, making them an asset to groups/clans/gangs and communes. Our big focus on community building.
  • Fortification of buildings is something in the works, which will allow players to control buildings and fortify it for their survival usage.
  • Convoys will be integrated which allow groups or lone wolfs to take on a group of traveling Guardians for their resources. A tough task, but worth it!
  • Control points will be integrated in the future which allows players to control points of transportation/power grids/docks, etc.
  • Sickness & Infection is coming! Living in an apocalyptic world is dangerous, so beware the diseases that can be caught while surviving!
  • First person will make it's big return with more enhanced features!
  • Completely reworked website for game and studio. We are working to create new websites that will connect to the game and provide more details on the web! Including kills, survival hours, characters, accounts, etc.
  • So much more will be shared as we get closer and closer to the patch release date.

As you can see above, we have completely revamped the overall look of the game, focusing on in-depth post processing to provide a more cinematic look. We are aware of the competition out there, and for that exact reason we are focused on bringing something new to the table!

(Delayed) The Return

(Delayed Patch)

Dear Survivors,

We are very saddened to announce that due to some unforeseen circumstances we must delay the upcoming patch date. Unfortunately multiple members of the team did contract COVID which forced a delay in development that was crucial to complete certain phases, also during our testing stages we ran across loading issues which resulted in a delay to our schedule. Due to these issues we feel it wouldn’t be a good idea to push a patch without fully testing all the major features, we learned our lesson the first time around. So we want to make sure this patch is 100% ready to go and all major issues have been resolved. Have no fear though, we are only pushing the patch a few weeks. The new release date for the patch will be on February 11th, 2022. Although the date has been pushed, we will have some things to share with you on the 30th of January! We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Regards,
Archage Studios Team
