Endless Space 2

Amplified - The Endless Universe

Ten years ago, Amplitude set out on a journey to craft the games we love. Back then our founders were already dreaming of Humankind, but they were also dreaming of an entirely different world – vast, fantastical, equally inspiring and intimidating, beautiful and dangerous: The Endless Universe.  A galaxy filled with wonders both natural and technological, as well as with relics of untold power scattered among the stars. Spread across this vast expanse are the ruins of an ancient people torn apart by civil war, the remnants of the gods they sacrificed for power, and a substance so rare, so precious, and so powerful it blurs the line between technology and magic: Dust. New contenders for planetary or even galactic dominion rise in the aftermath of this cataclysmic war, drawing on forces few can wield and even fewer truly understand in their bid for power. Many are the heroes (or perhaps villains) of this galaxy, and Endless are the possibilities, the stories, and the legends.

With so many tales to tell and mysteries to uncover, we could not help but add a few more: Introducing Endless Legend – Monstrous Tales and Endless Space 2 – Dark Matter, two new DLCs coming to Steam in February and available for pre-purchase today!

Delve into the myths of Auriga and deal with its (sometimes monstrous) inhabitants, or examine what happened in the final days of the Endless while dealing with the problems and opportunities of running a galactic empire in over a dozen new quests each!

If you’re new to the Endless franchise, and you’re not sure if you’d like the Endless Universe or any of the games in it, not to worry: To celebrate our anniversary, the Endless games are free to play this weekend, from Thursday, January 21st at 19:00 CET to Monday, January 25th at 19:00 CET! If you enjoy your time in the Endless Universe, now is a great time to pick up any of our titles - Especially since from today until Sunday, the special Endless Day quests and events are live in all three games! If you really liked the games, maybe you even want to pick up one of the new Definitive Editions for Endless Legend or Endless Space 2 that include all the DLC, even the ones only announced today!

We know many of you are excited for the future of the Endless Universe, and our upcoming rogue-lite Endless Dungeon. So are we, and we are especially excited to share some of its creation with you, so today we have a new vote for you!  It's getting pretty tough to talk about that amazing* announcement trailer when so many parts of it don’t even have a known name yet, not even the most common ones. So let’s give these creeping critters a name!

*Adjective Added for Alliterative Appeal. Please do not just take our word for it, but watch the trailer yourself!

Finally, if Endless Dungeon is just a little too far in the future for you still, and you are feeling a little more old-school, we’ve got a nostalgic double-dose for you: We’re taking Arnaud’s excellent electronic soundtrack for Dungeon of the Endless, and pressing it on the most analogue medium we could find, a vinyl record! Pre-orders for the Dungeon of the Endless OST Vinyl are open on G4F’s website now

Whew, that was a lot of new for the Endless Universe... And I didn’t even mention yet that the Endless Space 2 Artbook is available for download now! (Don’t worry: The Nakalim Comic, the pug hero, and the Tech Tree Lore Pass are still in the works.)

We hope you enjoyed all these little surprises, and have fun exploring the Endless Universe with your friends with weekend!

Amplified 2021: Turning Endless Day up to 11

Hey all,

The new year has rolled around, and that means it is time again at last!

“Time? Time for what?” some of you might ask, especially those who joined us over the past few months to talk about or maybe even try out Humankind. The answer is simple: Amplitude’s birthday!

Every year in January, we celebrate the founding of Amplitude Studios, the creation of the Endless universe, and our work with the community over the years. While it started small back in the day, the celebration has grown just as much as Amplitude, lasting several days with a fan meeting, streams with special guests from the studio, and new rewards on Games2Gether. This year is particularly special though – 10 years of Amplitude, and Humankind joining the celebration – so we thought it was time for a brand new name: Please, join us for AMPLIFIED 2021!

Streams

So, if you want to learn more about Amplitude and our games, stick around for the next few days, and stay tuned for some announcements in the next few days. And if you want to listen to our devs talk about our history, ask them about our games, or just hang out with other Amplitude fans in chat, join us for any of the streams below:

Guest streamers include Marbozir with Dungeon of the Endless, and BearlyTactical and Gamerzakh with Endless Legend.
Keep your eyes on our channel for anybody we might host!

Cosplay Contest

We are extremely excited for Humankind to join our portfolio soon, but we still love the Endless™ Universe, and we know so do many of you, so to celebrate 10 years of the Endless Universe, we want to invite you to participate in a low-budget cosplay competition. Grab whatever you have on hand and throw together a quick costume of any character from the Endless universe. (By our last count, there’s about 300 of them, so there’s plenty of choice!)

I know creating a cosplay may sound daunting at first, but remember this is not about creating a detailed costume, but about being clever with what you have on hand to show who you are cosplaying, and (most importantly) having fun! Just check out these two brilliant in-house examples.

Can you tell which characters these are?

So now that you got a cosplay costume, how do you participate in the contest, and what can you win? Just three simple steps, only one of which takes any work on your part!

The top ten entries will all receive one Endless game or DLC of their choice, while the top three will receive additional prizes:

New Rewards

As always for our anniversary, we’re adding more rewards to Games2Gether as well, available to be claimed on your rewards page on G2G:

So, go ahead and claim your digital swag!

We hope you'll have fun these next few days, and here's to several more great years!

Polishing ES2: The Final Patch

Hello everybody,

Today marks the release of the final patch in the series of patches that we announced a couple of months back for Endless Space 2.

The purpose of these patches was to resolve several bugs and issues reported by the community, and while we are confident that many of the worst problems have now been tackled, we also acknowledge that we were not able to address everything brought up by the community.

Endless Space 2 now offers a much more stable experience, and even though we have concluded this series of patches, we will still be keeping an eye out for your feedback and thoughts on your experiences playing Endless Space 2, and of course your reports on any issues you might encounter.

We want to thank you again for your patience, your dedication, and your passion for the Endless Universe.

  • Fixed portraits of two Hissho heroes being swapped

We're looking forward to the future of the Endless Universe with our community,

The Amplitude Team

Help Amplitude Make a Great Historical 4X Game

Hey everybody,

I'm sure most of you know how Amplitude has always tried to involve the community in the development of our games with the Games2Gether program, from VIP feedback to votes and contests, and Early Access.

Now we are trying to improve this process through an approach we call OpenDev.
During OpenDev, a large group of players will be given access to a series of scenarios paired with surveys, to gather quantifiable feedback on specific aspects of the game that we can then use to improve these features.
Of course, we would love to hear from our long-time fans of the Endless games as much as from new players interested in Humankind's historical setting.

While OpenDev will begin soon, applications are still open. This is your chance to try out Humankind for free and leave your mark on the game. For participating, you will even receive a player emblem to represent your civilization in game.

If you want the best chance to participate in OpenDev (and have a shot at sweet prizes to boot), you should also check out our What If Contest.

We're looking forward to getting a lot of feedback from our community,
-- The Amplitude Team

Polishing Endless Space 2: The First Patch

Hello everybody

We are excited to announce today that we are releasing the first in a series of patches for Endless Space 2, and in this first patch we will address several issues reported by ardent members of our community — to mention a few examples; the AI should no longer demand tribute when trying to surrender, Riftborn can once again use Hyperium to accelerate colonies, and laws rewarded by quests will now properly show in the senate screen.

Having such a passionate community who cares so deeply about the games we make, that is something we are truly grateful for — we are glad that so many of you have decided to stick with us and Endless Space 2 despite the issues that have been affecting the game ever since the release of the Awakening expansion.
Tackling these issues is of high importance to us, but we have unfortunately not been able to do so as quickly as we would have liked to, and we apologize for that.
But rest assured that we do want Endless Space 2 to be the best game that it can be, and as such we have enlisted the help of Clumsy Dwarf, who have been working together with us since the development of Awakening (and Symbiosis and Inferno for Endless Legend before that) — Clumsy Dwarf is a newly formed studio made up of people who previously worked at NGD, and we’re happy to have them return to help us in our endeavor to improve and polish Endless Space 2.

There are many more fixes in the pipeline, and some of the ones we are working on aim to resolve some issues with the Umbral Choir and fixing several quests — more information on the next patch will come soon, but until then, you can find a complete overview of today’s patch notes here.

Thank you for your passion as well as your patience.

Stay tuned for more
– SpaceTroll

Endless Space 2 Turns 3

Hey everybody,

On this day back in 2017, we released Endless Space 2 from Early Access. In the time before and since release, the game has changed and evolved thanks to your feedback, and now three years, four major expansions, and several minor DLCs later, the possibilities feel nearly Endless. With all the different factions, quests, events, and ways to play the game, so many stories can emerge from this game.

Personally, I will never forget the passive-aggressive Cravers Rogan and I encountered during our attempt to lead the Hissho empire to the Way of the Obsidian Eagle rather than the Red Blade. We just wanted to see if peace was ever an option for our feisty feathered friends, yet were met with aggression at every turn. Out of all the empires we met, the Cravers were the last we expected to back down and leave us alone. Of course, in the end the constant threats and attacks from other empires pushed us to extreme measures after all...

That is not to say the game is perfect. We know there are flaws, and we have seen your reports and feedback about bugs and balance. We are working together with Clumsy Dwarves, a studio founded by former NGD staff, to address many of these issues. The first patch is expected to release in the second half of June.

But on the occasion of ES2’s birthday, we’d like to hear from you in the comments:
Tell us about a crazy story you experienced in the game.
Tell us what you love about Endless Space 2, what makes it special to you.
Tell us about your favorite factions and characters.
Tell us about that time Horatio rejected you because you were not perfect enough. We’ve all been there.
