Update 00.835: Interface tweaks and web portal support structure
Patch 00.835 going up. This is likely the last patch before web-based scheduling and match email notifications release - it's mostly back end but adds a lot of stuff like automated time zoning so you don't have to do any calculations to figure out match times online etc. I also added a bunch of warnings about the state of solo play. It's absolutely incredible to us how many people buy the game without reading any of the warnings and then post reviews without trying multiplayer. I've put more warnings in the Steam store AND in-game. Solo mode will come, but it's just never been the focus, so it lags far behind PvP and will for quite a while as PvP gets the attention. Happy New Year everyone! 2023 is upon us! First update of the brilliant New Year!
Update 00.834 - Match Scheduling Web Portal Registration
Adds a new button in the match scheduling menu to register for the web portal and opt in/out of email notifications about your match schedule. Quick note that the web service isn't live yet, but moving to finish that now.
Patch 00.833
Compatibility patch for upcoming match scheduling web portal service
Small Patch 00.832
Bug fix in Match Scheduling (scheduling would not reconnect when coming back into main gym after a match)
Match Scheduling Patch (00.831)
Changes coming shortly for the match scheduler. PLUS, match history now uses a page system instead of a scrollable window (blue chalk arrows beneath match history will nav multiple pages). This should clean up the lower framerates for boxer's who have extensive match histories.
- Note that all scheduling and withdrawing for match scheduling is still done on the main wall/global menu. But now all match join functions have been broken out and show clearly in their own mini display. The button unlocks for the host at the time of the match, and for the guest when the host has begun the scheduled match.
- A few other notes: You can't schedule a new match closer than three hours away (the idea being that people need time to see the match and accept it, so those time blocks will not be available to you to book (within three hours of your current time). Very open to changing this after the system is ironed out.
- You can however accept a match that has been posted up until an hour before (it will be cancelled after that).
Large Update: Match Scheduling System / 00.830
- Open beta of the large match scheduling system. Check Discord for more info but here are the highlights: - Reputation: you start with 50 and max out at 100. - Your reputation goes down for missing matches, you lose more rep points the closer to a match you cancel / don't show up for. - You gain reputation by showing up on time for scheduled matches you accept - Reputation is used to schedule matches and accept scheduled matches offered by other players - Players can schedule/accept more matches every week if they have higher reputation - Matches can be scheduled with a minimum reputation threshold to join, so you can limit unreliable players from accepting your scheduled matched if you want to
- Your list of scheduled matches will appear in the global section of the wall board/menu - From there you can withdraw from / join your matches as they become live - There is no need to set up a lobby, this is all done automatically for you (observers can join when live) - You have 5mins to join your match at the scheduled time (matches can be scheduled every 30mins), if you miss your match, your reputation takes a hit - Players receive notifications in-game when their match is about to begin / in the future you will be able to sign up for optional email reminders / book online/via phone - Matches without both opponents confirmed are cancelled automatically within an hour of scheduled start time - Matches must be booked at least 3hrs ahead of time and can be booked up to a week ahead - A sparring/match calendar provides the weekly schedule for you and you use it to accept and create scheduled matches
Update 0.828 / Scheduling Framework Additions
Still pushing up the match scheduling framework - just around the corner now!
Update 00.827 / Opening Up Pro Matches
In -game cash is being dropped as a requirement for Pro matches. The reason for this is because I don't want to force a bot grind. So cash will now only be used for the solo game, though I'll play around with some ideas like betting on matches down the road and maybe just earning (instead of spending cash) during PvP pro matches. I want to get the scheduling system and Oculus port done first though - Venues now will be completely host choice. So you won't be forced into a bigger venue for your pro matches. - You'll need to choose your PvP Pro Alias before playing pro matches so that leaderboards and the ranking system can kick in - Fixed OTS shots in the observer modes as well
Update 00.826 - PvP Alias Available
You can now reserve your PvP alias ahead of match and tournament scheduling. Do so in the global wall menu.
