NEW CONTENT Update Version 1.1 and Anniversary Sale (70% Discount)!

Hellow Fellow Potatoes!

It's almost a year since I released Eredia: Diary of Heroes (boy, time flies quickly, huh?), and we've been on quite the ride so far. Bug fixes, improvements, edits, we've done it all to make Eredia a better game, and we did it together.

I've heard the demands for the sequel, and I'm pleasantly surprised by the response. Now, I won't be able to get Eredia 2 out in 2019, but I got a little anniversary gift for you all.

This is the first update that brings to you new content. (Mostly end game stuff)

- 3 new legendary weapons.
- One rare and one legendary armor set (total 5).
- Two new runestones.
- One new EX-Boss. (Okay, tbh, this fight is a little unfair, but if Gara and Shirven didn't pose too much of a challenge for you, you're probably gonna have fun with this one.)
- One Follow-up mission added in the Hunter's Guild. (Must have finished escorting the thief from Navrok Port. This isn't an official contract, and it doesn't get added to the Journal.)
- Minor bug fixes, including the recently reported Game Over bug after the Kredvale trials.

NOTE: 90% of the new content can only be accessed after getting a ship. Try revisiting some of the islands again.

And that's not all. For this week only, Eredia is on SALE (70% OFF)!

Also, if you haven't done so already, collect your FREE Eredia Lorebook from our official website by subscribing to our mailing list.

https://www.potatobraingames.com/

Finally, I'd like to request two things from our new players:

- Please leave a review if you play the game, and give me your honest feedback, regardless of whether it's a pat on the back or a brutal spinning heel kick. Feedback helps a lot, seriously.

- If you like detective/mystery games, you can give my new WIP game a try.
I'd love to hear your opinions.

Finally, a request to all the new and old players of Eredia who haven't written a review yet: I'd really appreciate it if you could write a short review letting me know how you feel, and you can be brutal when mentioning the game's shortcomings. Feedback is what allowed me to fix the game's problems, and I'll use them to make Eredia 2 a better game. I might not get a chance to respond to every feedback in the forums, but trust me, I'm reading them all.

Cheers,
Rishi

Minor Patch (Version 1.0.5) and BIG news!

First of all, I'd like to start by wishing you all a Happy New Year!

2018 has been a hell of a journey for me, and I'm going to continue doing what I love doing in 2019 as well: making games!

But more importantly, I've come up with three gifts for all players who've supported me on this journey, and new players who are looking to join the bandwagon.

The first one is an exclusive digital Eredia Lore Book which will be sent to all our mailing list subscribers by the end of January.
It'll contain all the information you wanted to know about the world of Arlis, it's history, the empires, the gods, and just about everything else.

The second gift will be for two lucky random subscribers every month, who'll get a FREE Steam key for any of our games!

And if that's not all, ALL SUBSCRIBERS will have access to pre-order Eva Reynes with a 30% discount!

How to Subscribe:

- Open my website: www.potatobraingames.com
- Wait for a subscription popup.
- Enter your email address and submit.

That's all! Far simpler than baking a cake, and probably more rewarding, too.

For those who don't know about Eva Reynes, it's the newest game that I'm working on. I plan to finish developing within the first half of 2019, after which I'll immediately start working on Eredia 2. I'll also be starting a Kickstarter campaign around the mid of February, and I'd really really appreciate it if you could support the game. More details about the game can be found on my website.

Oh, and before I forget, I better write the patch notes as well:

- Fixed the bug where the Black Ram didn't appear in the player's house after adopting it.

- Fixed Mount Aedelen passage issues and inconsistencies.

- Fixed lore inconsistencies, e.g. Rurouna's hometown being marked as Glendeva instead of Floreigne.

- Fixed passage issues in Draedenvir.

- Fixed typos and improved text formatting.

If you read till the end, you're awesome!

Cheers,
Rishi

The Future of Eredia and Potatobrain Games

Greetings to you RPG-loving Potatoes!

It has been almost six months since the release of Eredia: Diary of Heroes, the first installment in the Eredia series, and so far I'm pleasantly surprised by the amount of positive response I got, especially on Steam. There were a few hiccups along the way, but the wonderful community made sure to report flaws and bugs whenever they found them, and it helped me improve the game greatly.

Now, several players have already started asking about Eredia 2, and I haven't given a proper response on this topic, yet. Well, let's start with the bad news, first.

I haven't started working on Eredia 2. Have I abandoned the project? HELL NO! But after finishing the first installment of Eredia, I decided that I'd challenge myself and make a non-RPG game because I have so many stories that cannot be told in a semi-medieval fantasy world.

I have started working on a Suspense/Detective game which will have dark themes and hardcore difficulty. This game is not as immense as Eredia, but it'll have a lot more original art, CGs, and the other stuff that commercial games usually have, and I plan to finish it in another six to nine months. I'll be rolling out a separate post for this topic soon.

I plan to start developing Eredia 2 in early 2019, and the development cycle will take anywhere between 12 to 18 months. Multiple users also asked what they can expect from the game; but to be perfectly honest, I haven't laid out any detailed plans yet, but the Aegea-Caradith war will continue, the Dark Silver will play a more prominent role in the story, new characters will be introduced, betrayals, plot-twists and surprises will keep you at the edge of your seat, and Kenrad will, of course, continue being who he is. That's as much spoiler-free information I can give you right now.

There's one more good news I'd like to share before ending this post:

Potatobrain Games is now open to publishing requests (non-commercial games) for FREE.

Yup, you read that right. I'll be rolling out a detailed post about this on my website and on Steam, so stay connected!

Cheers!
Rishi

The Good, The Bad, and The Shiny

Dear Eredians,

As the title suggests, I got some good news, some bad news, and something shiny to top it off.

I don't want you to start reading the announcement with a frown, so let's start with the good.

Several bug fixes and content improvement have been made, including:

- Fixed some game breaking combos.

- Fixed a bug where you could travel to Kindar Tower even after it was locked.

- Fixed several passage issues, most notably in the Baveidel Swamps.

- Fixed a bug which caused the Annual Tournament to repeat itself upon completion.

- Fixed several bugs which caused the game to get stuck if certain party members were not added to the team before the fights.

- Fixed the bug which caused the black ram to not appear even after adopting it.

- Fixed the bug of Ivy's second character quest not appearing.

- Fixed the bug which caused the Serpent's dialogues to repeat even after completing that quest.

- Fixed some equipment categorization bugs.

- Fixed a bug which caused certain skills to not appear in the menu even after learning them.

- Fixed a few typos and improved the overall textual formatting in several parts of the game.

- Fixed a few more bugs that I forgot about. (Because I'm a lazy bum and I didn't note them down when I fixed them)

The bad news is: there won't be a Mac version, at least for now. It isn't difficult to port the game to Mac and other operating systems, but right now I can't find a way to properly encrypt the files and still make them executable in Mac, thus ending up creating several security issues. Never say never, though; as soon as I find a way to port my game to Mac while being able to protect my files at the same time, I'll get right back on it.

As for the shinies, Eredia is going on a 50% discount for an entire week -- our biggest discount till date.

Cheers!

I really appreciate the bug reports and feedback that I got from the community thus far. Without your support, I would not have been able to improve Eredia to this point. I'll continue improving the game over the months to come, and the next target is a Mac release.

Keep those reviews coming!

Cheers,
Rishi

Some minor bugs are yet to be fixed, but I am researching on ways to crush them soon.

Cheers,
Rishi

Eredia Release Announcement

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, ladies and gentlemen!

The kraken has been released!...Okay, I'll stop with the bad jokes, now.
My first commercial game, Eredia: The Diary of Heroes, has finally been released!

For those who are not familiar with our title, Eredia is a dark fantasy JRPG game set in a vast open world with over 50 hours of non-linear gameplay. It follows the life of Kenrad Krauser, a hunter trying to make the most of his opportunities in a war-ravaged world.

Eredia is available for purchase in Steam and itch.io.

Note: For now, only the Windows version is available. Mac and Linux versions will be available in approximately one month.

To all those who have supported me and have been a part of this wonderful journey: thank you.
