Escape From the Void

Color Escape 5.0 is out now!

Color Escape v5.0 is out!

Linked to the upcoming release of the "Love Levels", the first DLC for the game that will add a lot of new gameplay mechanisms, a new version of the game is available to download. Mainly technical, it makes adding new levels easier for me, but also for you if you want to make some using the Godot Engine (feel free to ask more infos). There is also a huge improvement on the drag'n'drop that is now both smoother and more precise (blocks do not try to reach the center of your mouse anymore).

If you missed some levels, that's a good time to go back to the game and its secrets.

Release Notes

  • [TECH] Possibility to add pre-formatted .pck files to add levels
  • [GAME] Improved Drag'n'Drop

See you on February 14th for the DLC release,

Re-Enter The Darkness (Bug Fix)

Hello everyone,
A bug was present in the game preventing you from finishing it, it is now fixed!

If you want more details about it and how it passed my vigilance, it is an issue in Godot due to a filename going from "glassWall" to "GlassWall". Some files, including the first one in "The Darkness" level, were still referencing the old one.

If the editor seems to not be case-sensitive on loading a file, it is now clear that the Windows build was.

Hoping you'll enjoy the second part of the adventure (it was blocking 40% of the content...)

Everyone can achieve their goals.

Hey!
A very small patch after the big change to "Color Escape". It contains:

  • Achievements !!! The main reason for the patch, you'll be able to brag with your virtual medal.
  • Small fixes including one that could crash the game in the fourth level of the fourth run/environment.

Color Escape: New Name, New Look, New Levels!

Hello,
Today a big big new version of the game was just released, changing a lot of appearance of the game and changing its name.

Why a new name?

I was in an intense brain-storming with myself on how to have more people try the adventure and give feedbacks when I found that the "echochromy-austere" look of the game could be sending wrong signals to the audience and I chose to rebrand everything (levels, menus, logo) to a more "casual coop fun" way. But the name was not matching with the new game look. You cannot have a funny balloony "Escape From The Void" without creating a neural paradox.

What's new?

There is new quality-of-life improvements, such as a new way of moving blocks around on the computer, clearer menus and some levels have been reworked to keep the pace of the adventure.

Also, I added more than 10 new secret levels. I chose to add secret levels and not just new ones at the end of the adventure to keep this increased pace and make them facultative. I wanted to have some kind of replay value and reward system.

So say hello to "Color Escape: VR Coop"

Have fun :)

The 3.1 version is out!

Hi :)
I just released a new version of the game (v3.1) that fixes a lot of small (and bigger) bugs.

  • The most important change is on the way the block moves, as they now try to reach your mouse position at all time.
  • Some levels that were really to long has been simplified (mainly on advanced levels)
  • Some levels that were not playable due to a bug are no playable again

I tried to test this version way more intensively that the previous one but if you still find a bug let me know.

This 3.1 version should be the last one before a big, big update (allegedly bigger than the 2.0->3.0 update)

Escape From The Void is available!

Hello everyone!

With a great excitement and a little early, Escape From The Void is now publicly available for everyone (with a VR Headset) on Steam.

To beat the game, you will have to communicate and cooperate with a friend through levels that will need you to understand what the other is seeing in the VR headset or the computer screen.

Discovery being an essential part of the game, I will let you explore the game and its changing mechanism.

I'm eager to hear your feedbacks as having your game meet the public is an agonizing and wonderful milestone for a dev.

Have fun (with this game or another),
Double Sept
