January 29, 2023 — New Ruiko Costume, New Alternate Color, and AI Playtesting!
The January update for ESPIONAGE: Mafia Evolvedis now live!
1️⃣ New Costume Added: 🌟 GRADUATE RUIKO This is the first costume that launches with three total colors! All future costumes will launch with just as many, if not more.
2️⃣ New Costume Color Added: 🌟 RETIRED SHERRING (Alternative Version) This is only the first of many new alternate colors for existing costumes. This costume can only be unlocked by completing in-game challenges and thus acquiring gameplay currency.
3️⃣ Visual Fixes: 🌟 A few visual bugs previously reported have been resolved, including a Player List display error in which avatars were not being shown in the correct aspect ratio. An issue within the shop that would result in a scrolling issue with text boxes has also been fixed. Some rarer bugs that made certain functions within the lobby inaccessible have been fixed, along with a bug that caused some chat issues.
4️⃣ We are now accepting sign-ups for AI Playtesting: 🌟 ESPIONAGE: Mafia Evolved will soon have full AI player support: play alone, play with a full lobby of humans, or play with a combination of AI and humans. If a human player ever disconnects, don't worry—AI Takeover means an AI who has all information from that player's perspective will take their place until they return.
🌟 2023 Major Update #1— The very next major update will be the start of Season 2, which will include not just full AI support but also the very first Master Costume! This costume will be for one of the original eight characters, with others to steadily follow in further updates. If you have this character to Level 50 already, you will have it unlocked for free immediately upon loading the game after the launch of Season 2. If you haven't reached Level 50 with this character by then, don't worry: anyone who reaches Level 50 with a character, at any time, will always receive their Master Costume free once it is made available within the game.
Beyond this, we have much more including 2nd Special Abilities for all characters and Action Phase abilities for all roles.
December 30, 2022 — New Marimede Costume, a Role Change, and a New Setting!
Continuing our commitment to monthly updates, the latest update for:ESPIONAGE: Mafia Evolvedis now live!
1️⃣ New Costume Added: 🌟 ROOKIE MARIMEDE
2️⃣ Role Change: 🌟 The Spy can now use both Eliminate -AND- Order whenever those actions are available. Previously, the option was to use one -OR- the other. We have other meta changes in mind—some major—but want to start with this one to see what effect it has on the overall match flow.
3️⃣ New Match Setting: 🌟 Variance — If the host decides, this new optional setting can be enabled which grants bonus XP per match for all players while ensuring players cannot use the same character two matches in a row. This setting carries over to all Variance lobbies; because it is optional, this setting can be disabled by the host at any time, or you may create a new lobby without it enabled.
4️⃣ UI Update: 🌟 The Informant will now see a red target icon on the top of the screen after receiving an Order from the Spy. This icon will last for the duration of the upcoming round. The Spy will see this icon as well.
5️⃣ Hint Update: 🌟 Hints have been revised to reflect recent updates to AP totals and other gameplay changes. Additionally, we have added hints to reflect the ways in which certain abilities were being used. One example is that hints related to Order now specify the Spy may want you to use a Trust or Suspicion action on his or her stated target. Previously, this was specified as Suspicion. We hope these changes will continue to help acclimate new players and will continue iterating as needed.
6️⃣ General Fixes: 🌟 Various visual bug fixes have been made. We've also addressed an issue with ghost sprites that were appearing on lower-spec machines.
November 20, 2022 — New Costume, New Setting, and Balance Update Out Now!
The latest update for:ESPIONAGE: Mafia Evolvedis now live!
1️⃣ New costume added: ESCAPIST RAFFLES
2️⃣ Balance Changes: 🌟 Raffles's Special Ability 「Amateur Cracksman」 upgraded: Instead of receiving 20 AP per target to his Current AP total, he will now receive 35 AP per target. 🌟 Ruiko's Special Ability 「Divine Instinct」 changed slightly: Instead of a penalty of -60 AP to her Max AP, the penalty will now be -50 AP. 🌟 Marimede's Special Ability 「Nemesis」 changed slightly: Instead of a penalty of -40 AP to her Max AP, the penalty will now be -30 AP. 🌟 Seward's Special Ability 「Group Therapy」 changed slightly: Instead of gaining only a third of Trust with all players, he now gains a little more (the equivalent of one extra Trust).
3️⃣ New match setting: Show AP — The current AP of all players will be visible. If the Spy is penalized for targeting the wrong players with Eliminate, AP is then hidden for the remainder of the match.
4️⃣ Animation issue has been fixed that sometimes showed transparent art in gameplay.
5️⃣ General UI improvements have been made.
6️⃣ Localization updates have been made for various languages.

October 14, 2022 — New Character SHERRING FORD Out Now!
Thank you to everyone for playing ESPIONAGE so far! A major update is out now and features the following changes:
1️⃣ New character added: SHERRING FORD 🌟 Sherring's Special Ability「Deductive Reasoning」 allows him to choose another living player and publicly announce the role he believes they are playing during the match. Whether you use this to mislead your enemies or ensure their arrest is up to you.
2️⃣ New costume added: Detective Sherring
3️⃣ New match modifier: Double Effects — The effects of all Trust and Suspicion actions are doubled, including all special abilities with the exception of Group Therapy.
4️⃣ New match setting: Rapid Time — Every timer in the game passes much faster. Not recommended for beginners.
5️⃣ Some visual and UI bugs have been addressed.
6️⃣ Some issues faced by Mac users have been addressed.
7️⃣ The groundwork for the introduction of AI has been added in order to facilitate public testing in the future.
8️⃣ Disconnected players will now auto-recuse on their turns after 3 seconds until they rejoin.

Thank you to everyone for playing ESPIONAGE so far! The first game update is out now and features the following changes: 1️⃣ Issues with e-mail confirmation codes should be resolved. 2️⃣ Additional fixes have been made to help with any sign-up issues. 3️⃣ Minor UI issues have been addressed. 4️⃣ Disconnect issues for those with less stable connections should be reduced. 5️⃣ Localization updates have been made for some languages. 6️⃣ While in the Graveyard, you may now move targets in the Notebook without accidentally clicking the "Leave Match" button. 7️⃣ An issue that could occur with music repeating in some situations has been fixed.
