Life in the tower city Bastion has long balanced upon a dagger’s edge, where survival depends upon the ceaseless efforts of generations to prepare the way for the next one to follow.
But now, a storm brews upon the endless horizon of the Shadowsea. An insatiable hurricane of churning energy takes form, pulling Shadow from the forgotten depths into a twisting column of magic and fury. And Bastion lies in its path.
High in the Reach, the Grand Builders prepare to weather the coming darkness. But far below, where the people of Bastion toil unaware, there are those who seek to profit from the power of the storm.
Those who welcome it, and what it foretells.
On Tuesday, March 23, twenty-one new Expedition-legal cards come to Eternal® in the Stormbreak Bundle!
It’s good to be back! With the $5k Stormbreak Throne Open just around the corner (March 26-28!), we have a few nerfs and buffs to announce to shake things up a bit in both Throne and Expedition.
Nerfs
Bring to Justice – Now 1JJJ (was 0JJJ)
Bring to Justice has been a staple Market card in Justice since its release, allowing people access to a 0-cost kill spell under some specific circumstances. The combination with Rime-Conclave Smuggler in particular has given Hooru access to a very strong turn 3 on-curve removal play. This change will make that harder to pull off, while still allowing Justice decks to have a low-cost removal spell if they’re willing to put in the work.
Winchest Merchant – Now 2/2 (was 2/3)
Winchest Merchant has proven to be the most popular way for people to use the Market in Expedition, and has been a fixture in Soldier decks in particular. We’re pulling back slightly on its rate to give people some incentives to explore other market options for those decks going forward.
Krull, Xumuc Occultist – Now SS: When Krull damages a player, play a unit from their void with cost less than or equal to the damage dealt (previously no influence requirement)
Krull gives players a powerful void option that operates very differently from most other cards. While it’s a lot of fun to find a Krull at the exact right moment and fish up something powerful from your void, the community sentiment has been that it feels wrong for non-shadow decks to get this powerful effect without even being able to play Krull from their hand normally. This change should help maintain the faction pie a little better while still allowing Krull to do her thing in decks actually working for Shadow influence.
Buffs
We also wanted to take this opportunity to buff some lesser-played cards, in particular focused on giving some upgrades to underplayed Throne cards, and a little love to a poor, maligned Grenadin.
Brel, Solist Apostate – Now 6FFJJSS (was 7)
Vargo Redclaw – Now 6/4 (was 5/4)
Talir’s Unwinding – Now Fast
Tavia, Lethrai Raidleader – Now 4 to activate (was 5) Triumphant Stranger – Now plays a random Stranger at the end of your turn (was start of turn)
Voprex, Hope’s End – Now permanently steals units
Cryptic Master – Now 2/2 (was 1/1) Gren, Iron Martyr – No longer a coward (Gren can now block)
Lethrai Soothsayer – Now 3P (was 4)
Fixes
Grand Suppressor should no longer suppress Amplify abilities.
Rhuus, Warbeast can no longer apply its buff to itself.
Added “Dog” unit sub-type to Scrap Hound.
Adjusted Inoa, Elevator Overseer to grant power first.
Fixed some issues with Midchief Salus’s Amplify so that it works correctly with Jetpack and other effects that prevent playing spells.
Improved translations for several cards.

Valentine Scion Draft!
Will Rizhan’s arrow strike true love? Find out this weekend in the return of Scion Draft!
Scion Draft is back by popular demand in a special Valentine’s Day Weekend event! Draft with some of the most iconic cards from Eternal®‘s history in a limited event that turns the power level all the way up!
In a Scion Draft, you’ll still open four packs and draft a 45-card deck to bring into battle. But, when you open those packs… hooo boy: The draft pool draws from 562 high-impact cards. That means that a pack could contain any combination of rarities across the curated selection of cards from all sets. That’s a lot of power!
This is a phantom event — the cards you draft are just to play with here; you don’t get to keep them — and the pool includes some real heavy-hitters from Eternal’s first ten sets…including brand new cards from Buried Memories, along with promos, alt-arts and other campaigns and bundles!
Spend some quality time with Scion Draft this weekend a pick up a copy of the sweet new alt art Rizhan, Greatbow Master with each run!
Join us this weekend for a brand new Preview Event where you will be able to play with five new Preconstructed Theme decks, each with one new card from Buried Memories!
There is a special boss rule in play:
Each game you’ll begin with a relic in play that allows you to spend 2 power to draw a random unit of your deck’s tribe. Then, the cost increases by 2 for further activations.
The event costs 200 gems or 2500 gold to participate. You may run any number of times, but only your first five runs count on the leaderboard.
Here’s how it works:
There are 5 specially-constructed theme decks – each containing one new card from Buried Memories!
Each of your first 5 runs in the Event will use a different deck.
After 5 entries into the Event, you will play with a deck selected at random.
These decks are not added to your collection.
This event costs 2,500 gold or 200 gems to enter.
You may enter as many times as you would like. Each run consists of 7 games, win-or-lose.
Your first 5 runs count towards your position on the event leaderboard.
The Buried Memories Event will run from Friday 2/5/2021 at 10:00 AM MDT (16:00 UTC) to Monday 2/8/2021 at 4:00 PM MDT (22:00 UTC).
You can check out all the rules, prizes, and decks here!
