S8: Splash! Trailer Notice
We would like to address the concerns raised about the hand gesture shown in the S8: Splash! trailer.
It is not a hate symbol.
The gesture shown in the video is not the hate symbol some of you have brought up. We regularly review all content before release, and during our internal check process, the team confirmed that the motion is different and does not carry the same meaning or context.
Why does the gesture look unnatural?
We understand that this concern didn’t arise because the gesture exactly matched that symbol, but because the motion felt awkward or unnatural. When a gesture looks off and even slightly resembles something it shouldn't, it's completely fair to question the intent.
Ironically, this awkwardness was the result of adjustments made to avoid such misunderstandings. As you can see below, this skin’s lobby animation is originally displayed from a different angle. During our internal review, we got some feedback that if the thumb rested naturally in the lobby animation, it might look too similar to a problematic gesture. To prevent this, we deliberately adjusted the thumb’s position so it would be partially obscured by the other fingers.
However, the camera angle was different in the season trailer and additional post-production work made the gesture appear more awkward than intended. During our internal review for the video, the focus was on whether the gesture resembled the problematic hand gesture, not whether it looked natural, which resulted in this misunderstanding.
That said, we understand how sensitive this topic is and wanted to address it as quickly and clearly as possible. We truly appreciate your support and never want to lose your trust in how we handle matters like this. Please know that we take these concerns seriously and are committed to being transparent about our intentions.
On a separate note, we understand that some of you were disappointed the Dev Stream coupon didn’t align with the Season Pack purchase period. To help you enjoy Season 8: Splash! a bit more, we’ve prepared a small NP gift as a token of our appreciation.

S7 Ranked Demotion, Promotion and Grace Point Update Time
We wanted to give you a little more information about the update of demotions, promotions and grace points in Ranked.
[Update Time & Reference Time]
- Reference time: Every day at 15:00 (UTC) → Every day at 20:00 (UTC)
*This is the cut for checking your last match played.
- Update time: Every day at 06:00 (UTC) (Remains the same)
*This is when your demotions, promotions and grace points are updated.
In other words, the data checked at 20:00 (UTC) each day will be used as the basis for applying changes at 06:00 (UTC) on the next day.
We hope this clarifies some of the questions this change created after the 1.50 Patch notes and we sincerely apologize for any confusion caused.
