Christmas is once again descended on the tower, and the boss is on the loose.
Until the 8th of January, the Christmas boss is out and roaming the floors of the tower. So make sure you kill him and claim your prize before he goes for another year.
Can you kill him like Thaecrasis has!

Jack's Back!
Trick or Treat...
It's that spooky time of year again, and Jack O' Lantern has descended onto the Tower to deliver his own brand of trick or treat to you!
Slaying Jack will get you his very special, limited edition monster card. But be quick! Jack's only around for a short period of time...
New Boss!
Previously, there was a boss every 20 floors with the exception of Floor 80. Now, the terrifying demon Tyrfing has claimed Floor 80 as his own, and you need to strike him down before you can face the final challenge from the Council Of Nine...
What's Next?
As you may have seen in previous updates from the Once More With Gusto team, there's a variety of different things that are planned for the future of Eternal Step. Things like -

There's a large patch for the game coming later on in the year, which will also mark a update to a newer version of the engine. This means that there might be some save game issues, but there should be a way to manually import your previous save. We'll keep you updated on exactly what the situation is closer to the update, and let you know how to import the save if that's possible.

Halloween is coming once again to Eternal Step
Oct 17th will see the return of Jack O Lantern our Halloween boss.
You only have the chance to fight this boss during the Halloween seasons so make sure you fight him to get his rare monster card.
Otherwise, you will have to wait till next year!
From our last update with the new boss who is on floor 80!
So for anyone who has gone past floor 80 if you go back to level 79 checkpoint and enter the room the boss should spawn for you.
for anyone who hasn't got there yet he will just spawn as if nothing has changed.
We are working towards a much bigger update which we are trying to aim for around Christmas time.
So enjoy the new boss and for anyone who missed killing Jack O Lantern the first time round make sure to load up the game after the 17th for your chance to kill him.

Sorry for the lack of updates in the last bajillion years. (Roughly.) We decided to release the boss separately instead of in a big patch planned just to show that we are indeed alive and still working on the game.
I have been unable to work full time on the game for the past five months or so after needing to get a different job to support myself. I have been working on the game in whatever spare time I could get.
That said as my current situation is now more stable I have been able to spend more time working on the games future update which I'm sure the other guy will post about very soon.
Early work on Steam achivements and Scoreboards
We are working on the next update to Eternal Step as I have posted before.
This update is most likely going to be the biggest update we have done so far to the game and this is why its taking a while, also we both have day jobs now so its slowed it down.
However we have started looking at Steam achivements and Leaderboards, we had wanted to put these in for some time, however the engine we use does not make it easy to do this without some serious coding and time.
However a update has been done which should make this easier.
So with the next update we should be able to put in achivements and leaderboards, along with a ton of other stuff.
We will keep you updated as we go.
Currently we are working on the new boss for floor 80 :D

Update on Eternal Step and what is coming!
So it has been a while since we updated Eternal Step and there has been a reason.
We have always agreed to be upfront with any community we have.
The reason has been really for Paul to secure some more stable work.
We where running on empty up to the release of Eternal Step and we have had to pause while Paul can feed himself.
So now this has been done YAY.
We are back with what to expect going forward.
We belive Eternal Step is in a much better place now then at launch and that has been though people like yourself giving us feedback and from us wanting to push content out.
So the next big update will be coming soon!
What to expect:
A new boss to fill the void in floor 80 - some people have expressed they enjoy the boss fights and was sad to see no boss was on floor 80.
So a new boss is going to be added. If you have got past floor 80 you should be able to go back to floor 79 checkpoint and go fight it right away.
So dont panic if you got past it.
Bosses respawn - we are looking into a way to have the bosses come back so you can fight them again.
We had always planned to have them come back on high floors harder and stronger with possibly new moves and this is something we are still planning.
More rare monsters - So some of you have fought the King Slime etc and we plan to fill out the roster by making sure every enemy currently has a rare version, so expect more of those mini boss fights.
More traps - we want to add more traps just to mess with you're head
More treasure floors and evil floors - yes more of these are coming
one of the bigger features is going to be ranged and magic weapons so let me explain.
Ranged weapons and Magic - we plan to add these new systems in the next update this will boost the current amount of weapons by a lot and also mix up the game play quite a bit, however enemies will also be ready for new tactics.
Ranged weapons and magic cannot be stored like normal weapons can they are more pick up and use items.
Think along the lines of castlevania with you're sub weapons.
However you will need to kill rare enemies to unlock new spells and new weapons once you have killed them, the item will get added to the possible drop list.
going forward we will always see how well Eternal Step is selling and if people want more content!
We have seen quite a lot of new people pick up the game and we want to share to anyone that has it that more is coming.

Eternal step minor fix update.
Hi sorry for no new content in this patch I have had to work on other things to get money for living. instead this update is for minor fixes (one major) and balancing.
1. Hidden the shield descriptions until you actually get them now (noticed on Indelacio's lets play video.)
2. New shields and armours could be unselectable for certain people. This is because of some old code I got ready for the pages but didn't have the new custom controls code in place. (also spotted by Indelacio.)
3. adjusted hitboxes on certain moves that looked like they didn't hit me but did. All these are smaller so nothing has been made bigger:
Imp fireball
Golem back spear swing
Last boss electric moves
Hound lunge
Master handy slam
Slime under stab
Angelmage flame
4. Sometimes very rarely Handy could achieve incredible feats of speed increasing. They can now no longer go ssj
5. Very minor damage decrease to anything that hits super hard. Very minor though this is like 5% less. Moves like golem spear thrust.
6. Upped the minimum possible attack RNG slightly on weapons dropped in the dungeon.
Patch 2.25 hotfix
Fixed two issues found and reported by people on the forums.
1.Fixed the second page of armours and shields not saving right from the loot menu that Dendrago said about but I thought it was something else so Vporo had to confirm.
2.Added new movement to wisps in walls to stop them possibly getting stuck in the walls after Silk was unable to progress due to evil wisp hiding.
Eternal Step patch - Version 1.25 update
We have added new shields for you to find in the tower and this should help mix up your builds or playing styles.
The next update to come will be the one life mode but at the moment we still have a few things to sort out for that.
Eternal step is now updated to v1.25. Main new inclusion this time are 8 new Shields.
New
New shield Vampire. Hold block to suck up blood and heal some health.
New shield Fortress. doesn't break but take 5% health per block.
New shield Svalinn. Front projectile blocker.
New shield Reaver. Enemies drop souls. Hold block to collect and heal.
New shield Grenade. Explodes when shield shatters.
New shield Liberal. Skills on weapons drop twice as often.
New shield Neglect. 30% more powerful as long as you don't block. Resets each floor.
New shield Firin. Hold shield to charge a laser-beam.
Adjustments
Hitboxes for trapdoor and some fireballs changed to not hit/trigger above you when it doesn't look like it should.
Bug fixes
You can no longer use fragments to create items you have not stored yet.
Took the decimal point damage out of wisp card.
