To help out new players here are some tips that may come in handy while playing:
The checkpoints to floor 100 are before every 20th floor (floor 19,39,59,79,99) You can carry on from those checkpoints when you die.
It is best to store any new type of card you get first so that it is unlocked in the books.
Skills aren't affected by the weapon damage or attack value. They rely on your level and the skill emblems. If you find yourself only using skills focus into skill emblems not the attack emblem for more damage.
Adding a few points into potion emblems could make life easier. It only costs two emblems to have three max potions instead of two.
As you go up the floors enemies will start overtaking you with how much they kill you unless you put a few emblems in defense every so often to keep up.
Some combinations of equipment work well together such as Bleed for high damage output and nibble card to get the health back you lose off each enemy killed using bleed.
Don't dismiss the shield and only use dodge. It costs no stamina to block so you can attack straight after blocking an enemy attack. It also has other uses on later enemies.
Exp is always 1000 to the next level. when the floor is above your level you start getting bonus modifiers on exp. If you are the same or under a slime you get 6exp one floor higher is 12exp and two floors higher than you is 18exp. You will level fast if you are well below the floorlevel but at the same time if you needed to you could farm exp quite easily on earlier floors.
Later bosses might seem to have a lot of health but you can use cards to help you take them out fairly fast. Dark matter has great damage output for slow moving objects and combo in for example skeleton archer card to hit them even when you are running around.
If you have problems with bullet hell style avoiding (so sorry) then the blocky card is for you. Half the projectiles will never even get to you.

Your game, your content, your vote!
This week is Weapons week in Eternal Step, in which me and Paul will boost the amount of weapons in the game for you to find.
New actual weapon types will be coming in future updates, as well as ranged and magic, however for now we will increase the current ones with some new amazing ones to find.
Next week is down to you!!!
We will often hold votes on what content you want to see more of in the Tower and then do what you guys want.
However if you don't have the power of twitter, leave us a comment and we will add it all up and let you know on Friday what has won.
Eternal Step Update 1 part 2 Extended
Well you guys are massively lucky this week, we have managed to squeeze in a few new floors before the end of the week.
This now ends this bit of the update ( however doesn't mean we wont add more in the future)
So we have now happily doubled the amount of treasure/Evil floors you can now get with more towards treasure.
we felt we should have more treasure floors then evil as the game can be quite tough as it is.
So increasing the pool just means you have more chance of a good floor then a bad one so YAY.
The three new floors added again will slot into the game and you can get them at whatever stage you are at currently in the tower.
We still haven't seen anyone beat floor 100 yet!
Beat the horde waves of enemies will try and kill you and you must beat every wave to get the reward, however should you fail...well then your dead!
Reach the end Simple right? However this room is filled with spikes and other nasty traps and will require you to time your movement and your dodges just right or risk death.
You could try BFH ( brute force healthing) your way though but then you would be wasting your potions. Your choice.
Catch the cards
cards will rain from the sky, loot cards, rare cards and fragment pieces will fall as well.
catch the card before it hits the floor to secure your reward!
Not only that but once again we have fixed some bugs and thanks Moiren who has found and reported a few bugs which has helped us quite a bit.
So thank you and look forward to seeing your floor 100 clear.
So NEXT WEEK IS WEAPONS
So far the game only has rarity rank 2 weapons some of the ones coming in the future will be amazing and very hard to get :)
Until next week.

Update 1 part 2 is live
Version 1.06 released
The council of Nine has been kind this week and added 3 new floors to the tower.
These floors are all treasures floors, so no risk of dying! YAY.
The three new floors will just mix themselves into the current set of floors, so you have a chance of getting them no matter where you currently are in your climb to the top.
New Floors
Imp Race: A nasty Imp loves treasure chests and is trying to beat you to them. There are 4 rare chests on this floor, and you have to beat the Imp to each one.
If the Imp gets to them before you do, he steals the treasure within!
Also the Imp is a big cheat, and can't be killed... so don't try!
Puzzle floor: Our first puzzle floor is live! You have 30 seconds to make all the lights blue.
This is the first of the puzzle floors, and we plan to add more in the future. Some of these floors will be skippable.
Pick A Box: 3 items and 3 boxes, keep your eyes on the prize and they are shifted around and you get to pick one!
That's not all – we have fixed some bugs! YAY
Next update will feature BRAND NEW WEAPONS, and maybe some more treasure and hell floors.
New
Race the imp treasure floor.
Make all blue treasure floor.
Choose a box treasure floor.
Adjustments
Added some health per level so you would not lose full health bonus with master on level up.
Bug fixes
Fixed a bug that could make wisps not work right.
Fixed a bug that made the floor not display correctly in tutorial.
Stopped a way of making the loot screen not send you to next floor on special floors.
Update 1 part 1 is now Live
Challenges and floor changes have now entered the Tower. This mysterious challenger wages bets on crusaders who enter the Tower to see if they have the bravery to beat his challenges.
Can you beat the challenges and win the rewards?
How challenge and floor change floors work:
Before a floor a challenge icon will pop up letting you know a challenge is coming.
You could get any one of these challenges:
Don’t Block
Don’t evade
Break your shield
Don’t use a potion
Keep some stamina (don’t run out)
Take no damage
Break no scenery
Finish the floor in 20s/30s/40s
Floor changes are slightly different in that they change the floor into something or give the floor a unique set up. A floor change can be any of these:
All enemies have regen (ouch right)
All bombs (every enemy will explode)
No loot (harsh!)
Tons of mines (watch your step yo!)
No traps (thank F@~%)
Enemies are weaker (sweet)
Enemies are stronger (typical)
Enemies die in one hit (YES! Get REKT enemies!)
All enemies drop health potions (you WHAT!?)
All enemies have triple HP (yep just to P£$% you off)
All enemies are slimes (hmm not bad)
All enemies are wisps (pretty good not bad)
All enemies are skeles (you can handle that right?)
All enemies are blocky (the golem with a b***h of a back slap)
All enemies are orbits (get ready to dodge and block those... You love bullet hell though)
All enemies are imps (sorry DOMTRON)
All enemies are ghouls (if you haven’t battled these yet you will read this later and curse us)
All enemies are hounds (pretty harsh)
All enemies are nibbles (much like slimes but more annoying)
Please note you won’t get an all enemies floor if you haven’t come across the enemies so you can let out a sigh of relief as we won’t throw harder enemies at you if you haven’t came across them yet.
So for finishing a challenge (not a floor change) you’re rewarded with LOOOOOT
The reward is random and can be any of these:
1 chest with common item
2 chests with common items
1 rare chest
1 potion
5 potions
10 sword fragments
10 armour fragments
10 shield fragments
10 monster fragments
Challenges are there to keep the gameplay slightly different and mix things up, we will of course be adding more in the future and will be listening to feedback!
We haven’t just done challenges though we have also changes and fixed some bugs! These changes are below:
Changes:
Edited character sight to stop hindering vision near walls (screen would go black sometimes)
Enemies now have shadows
Altered the look of gold floors to look less flat
Smash the cart now works on level instead of floor (making it more of a challenge)
Increased the hit boxes of axe for the up and down attacks (to help with some people missing attacks)
Bug fixes:
Soul Leech now correctly works when created with fragments.
Cart hit sounds have been fixed.
Will D Wisp will now stop cheating by attacking you while you were looking at loot.
Eternal Step patch - Version 1.05
Version 1.05 released

Character shadows added.
Adjustments
Widened axe type weapons attack up and down hitboxes.
Changed player vision borders to stop hindering the view when rolling into and pressing against walls.
Smash the cart health now based on your level instead of floor level.

Smash the cart hit sounds now trigger.
Thanks and Update 1 incoming
First off we want to say a huge thank you to anyone who has played the game and tried it out and also thanks to everyone who has given feedback.
I’m not sure how many of you knew the game would get regularly updated but hopefully you will soon learn that and enjoy the additional content.
Now the game has launched and things have calmed down a bit and nothing major needs patching we can focus on future content.
We plan to release updates as and when they’re ready instead of sticking a lot of content together and releasing it as a patch we plan to work on one aspect, release it and then move to the next thing. This allows us to be very flexible about the direction we take and the ideas we put into Eternal Step.
So get on with it already, what’s coming?
Update 1 part 1
Challenges
The first update will add challenges to the Tower; these challenges will appear at random as you climb. Between floors you will get an icon to tell you a challenge is coming on the next floor.
Once on that floor you can see the challenge in the top right corner of the screen, fulfil the requirements and you earn some bonus LOOT. Fail it however… and, well nothing happens…we are not that cruel!
Challenges can range from “ finish a floor in 60s” to “ don’t use potions” or “ don’t set off any traps”. These challenges will give you an extra goal to go for if you want to, but if you are too focused on climbing the Tower well then ignore them.
The rewards for doing challenges will also be random, you may get a chest with loot, or a monster card, or a potion refill. So if you’re low on potions trying to do that challenge could mean life or death. Decisions!
We plan this update to go live pretty soon, hopefully by end of next week. We say that as a guide only, as there could be a bug or an issue that prevents it.
After challenges the next piece of content will be new random floors like the survival and smash the cart floors.
So keep an eye out for challenges appearing in the Tower soon!
