World Ship Simulator Has Launched

Hello everyone,

World Ship Simulator has launched in Early Access

We are still very hard at work in development with a new development team and are going to be doing our very best to bring you a great game. As this is Early Access, there will be some features not yet fully realised and some parts that may seem buggy. We’d appreciate reporting issues in the Steam forums.

For suggestions, general feedback and discussions please visit the main forum page.

The first month of development will be on the following key areas
  • Improving bridge interior quality (none of the current ships are up to final interior quality)
  • Balancing in game economy and ranking
  • Creating new missions for Career Mode
  • Gaining community feedback from users to plan following months work load
  • Adjusting English text & translating into other languages

New ships will of course be added in Early Access but we would like to refine what we have first before we begin to add new content.

As for new ships, we would like your requests. Check out the link below to find details on how you can suggest new ships and the process we are adopting.

We will be building up suggestions for the very first few weeks and implementing as many as possible.

We also have a Fishing boat which can be unlocked by registering your game, Registering allows us to contact you for specific updates for World Ship Simulator including detailing any important decisions that may be made with the community. Check the link for more details:

A Small Delay To World Ship Simulator

Hi everyone,

We have been working very hard to finalize everything for World Ship Simulators release. However I am afraid an issue has appeared that has resulted in a slight delay to the games release.

We will have to delay the game by six days to the 17th of November. Of course, those who own European Ship Simulator will still receive a copy of World Ship Simulator for free. But I am afraid that there have been some unavoidable issues that have severely impacted the release.

Below are just a few screenshots of the game in action that we'd like to share:

We apologize for the last minute delay and are really looking forward to you all getting your hands on the game soon.

World Ship Simulator - The Port Boat & Optimisation

The following is an announcement from the World Ship Simulator Steam page. Check out world Ship Simulator here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/403980

Hi everyone,

Over the next week up to the games launch on the 12th of November we'll be sharing a few videos. The first of which I can reveal today, will be the port boat. Check out the boat in action below:

The above video does include an FPS counter for a few of the scenes. We understand that during European Ship Simulator that optimization was really important to everyone. So we are working towards this and still have some work to do.

World Ship Simulator will launch with more customization to increase performance on your machines. below are some of the options players can tinker with.

Not long now until launch and we can't wait for you all to play the game!

World Ship Simulator - Small Progress Update

Hi Everyone,

As I mentioned in the previous announcement, everyone who owns a copy of European Ship Simulator will be given World Ship Simulator for free when it launches later this year in Early Access.

A little update on our progress today, We have implemented a new ocean system into the game and we're now playing around with it to improve it. Check out a screenshot of the new ocean below:

If you look closely around the exterior, we've added some crew near the front of the ship too.

More news to come soon.

All the best,
Chris

An Important Anouncement - The Future

Hello everyone,

We would like to share some news with you regarding the development of European Ship Simulator. We would like to let everyone know why we have been pretty quiet over the past few months.

During the Early Access period of European Ship Simulator, negotiations with the developer had broken down and this meant we were unable to support the game further. This resulted in a hunt to locate a new development team to take over the rest of the development process. We should have communicated this earlier, though when we started the search for a new development team to take over, we were expecting the turnaround for the new developer to take over the project to be much shorter.

However upon receiving the source code, the new developer had asked us if they could start the project again so that they can implement new features much more effectively without the restrictions of using the previous code.

So, the game evolved and became its own game, using perhaps some existing models (though retextured to increase performance) and using the same water engine. The game has been for the last month been titled “World Ship Simulator” and will release during Early Access at a similar stage of playability that European Ship Simulator had become.

While we have spent time and resources to develop a new game with a new developer, we do feel we should have communicated more effectively what was happening behind the scenes of European Ship Simulator. For that reason we have the following in place.

Anyone who has purchased European Ship Simulator up to the release of World Ship Simulator, will be given World Ship Simulator for free.

World Ship Simulator will differ in quite a few ways and below are just a few bullet points to list what we will have when it launches

• Open world map with no loading screens between ports
• Initially three fictional ports (with busier ports)
• Career mode where players start with a ship, earn money, gain experience and purchase new ships
• Ship Crew added
• New day/night sky effects
• Ability to speed up time in game
• Damage system with visible damage that dents the sides of ships
• Currently working on developing a hovercraft to use in the game
• Ability to leave the vessel and accept missions off shore

We'd also like to share a few screenshots of World Ship Simulator (two of these vessels you may remember from European Ship Simulator)

While currently we are using the same water system we used for European Ship Simulator, we are also keeping an eye on a new water system that we may use for the game once it releases

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHudbVe5QbA

So in summary, World Ship Simulator is to launch later this year in Early Access and everyone who owns European Ship Simulator will be given this for free. We really do want to expand the Ship Simulator genre and we hope you will join us as we progress further with this.

All the best,
Chris

European Ship Simulator - Moving To Unity 5

We are currently working on moving European Ship Simulator from Unity 4 to Unity 5. Unity 4 presented us with some restrictions during the development process and we know these will be lifted with the move. We are now working hard on this and seeing good progress and will make an announcement in due course.

New Update - Port Boat Mission

Hi everyone. A new port boat mission is now available. This is a new type of mission that includes way points that are partnered to AI ships meaning that the mission marker will follow the ship as it maneuvers around the map.

Another mission will release next week

All the best!
