Announcing the EVE Aether Wars: Phase Three Prize Winners
Hey all!
After the epic scenes that unfolded during the EVE Aether Wars space battle on November 23, we’re now very pleased to announce the winners of the special prizes!
Firstly, our best pilots on the day! These were judged based upon the amount of ZPC gathered and Each of these received a one-off steam achievement, commemorating their achievement.
Next, we also highlighted one lucky winner who was picked at random from the thousands of pilots who took part. On the day, pilot Sekuiya was chosen as that fortunate individual.
As their prizes, linuxfingers and Sekuiya will each receive two tickets to EVE Fanfest 2020 in Reykjavík, Iceland including paid-for flights and hotels. Congratulations and thank you to all for taking part. Please get in touch with us via communityteam@ccpgames.com .
The playtest at EVE London was a significant event for both CCP and Hadean. Whilst the World Record remains intact for another day, EVE Aether Wars has proven once more that there is an exciting future ahead for EVE and the studio.

EVE Aether Wars - 30 minutes until World Record attempt!
The World Record Attempt starts in 30 minutes! Get ready to be a part of and beat the World Record for the "Most concurrent players simultaneously involved in a single multiplayer PvP videogame battle".
Join us in 30 minutes for your chance to make history!
There will also be two prizes that will be awarded to two players in the following manner:
One will be given to the pilot who attains the most in-game currency (ZPC) during the event. Another will go to a lucky pilot who will be chosen at random from all the participants.
Both winners will each receive two tickets to EVE Fanfest 2020 in Reykjavík, Iceland, including paid-for flights and hotels. In addition, the winners will get the opportunity to meet the EVE Online development team face-to-face at the event.
In case that´s not enough, the pilots who claim 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will receive a unique Steam achievement after the event, and every participant will receive a Steam achievement if we manage to break the world record.

World Record attempt is upon us!
Are you ready to set the Guinness World Record?
Phase III happens on the 23 November at 20:00 UTC, where we aim to beat CCP's own Guinness World Record of the "Most concurrent players simultaneously involved in a single multiplayer PvP videogame battle" achieved by EVE Oline players, when a total of 6,142 players took part in an enormous battle - the Siege of 9-4 - in January 2018

Improved prediction and smoothing of the simulation
Four ship types, instead of three
Improved UX - Who is targeting me? Who am I targeting? Better missile lock warnings (which missiles are mine vs which missiles are enemy missiles - because it can get quite hectic!)
Improved ship balancing: Differences in hull, shields, speed, cool-downs etc. based on ship class.
