Early scouts from Wormhole 01B/555-51JX5 are reporting shields are ineffective.
Fighter pilots should investigate.
EVE: Valkyrie Wormholes – Your Questions Answered
Have you tried out any of EVE: Valkyrie’s weekend wormhole events yet? If you have, you’ll already know the insanity that lies beyond the conduit. If you haven’t, you’re in for a treat.
A new wormhole opens up each week and runs from Friday through to Sunday. Each time you warp to the other side, you will find versions of the regular maps that have been corrupted in some way, with conditions that alter your ship and weapon capabilities. Basically, any player, regardless of ability, will find themselves thrown in at the deep end as they enter the mysterious world of the wormhole.
Naturally this throws up a few important questions, so let’s address those right now.
Can I use any of my ships on Wormholes?
The beauty of Wormholes is that the usual rules no longer apply and it presents a level playing field. All wormholes specify which loadouts are available for pilots to fly. So, while you can’t use your usual roster of ships, everyone can use all the available loadouts when flying in the wormhole. What’s more, all craft are fully upgraded and you get to fly the ships even if you haven’t already unlocked them in the main game.
If I do well in a wormhole, does it count towards my progress in the rest of the game?
All of the same rewards are available in Wormholes as in standard multiplayer combat, so you get VISK, experience, cosmetic unlocks and so on, so experiment and have fun, as there are ample rewards to be gained.
I’m already a high-ranking pilot. Isn’t entering a wormhole risking defeat and screwing up my hard-earned reputation?
No need to worry on that score. The main thing here is that wormholes don’t contribute to League rankings or Pilot stats. Anything that happens in a wormhole stays in a wormhole and won’t stay on your permanent record. So, you get all the rewards with none of the risk!
Does my knowledge of the maps count for anything in a wormhole?
Yup! Some Wormholes maps will be more similar to their regular map counterparts than others, but knowledge of the regular maps will certainly help you navigate your way around the Wormholes maps. Sure, in some instances the world beyond the wormhole is horribly corrupted, but there are many common reference points that, as a master of the regular maps, you’ll be able to take advantage of.
What’s the best way to prepare for combat in a wormhole?
Some of the odd characteristics of the wormholes mean that in some ways you can never be fully prepared for combat, since you won’t know what you’re coming up against. That said, in the downtime between wormholes, it would be a good thing for pilots to try out as many different ship loadouts as possible.
If you’ve unlocked and bought plenty of ships, get practicing on all of them. If you haven’t got many, get playing to unlock some more. Wormholes force certain loadouts on you and you never know what ship you might find yourself flying, so get to know as many of them as you can. Expertise in as many ships as possible would give pilots a big advantage.
Massive thanks to CCP Badhorse for throwing light onto the darker corners of the wormholes.
Wormholes are just part of the recent Wormholes major update and you can find out about all the other awesome new Valkyrie features in our recently published article.
See you on the other side pilots!
New Eden Nightmare – A New Wormhole Has Opened
Anyone who played EVE: Valkyrie’s new Wormhole Mode last weekend won’t be reading this, they’ll already be strapping themselves into the cockpit and crossing the conduit to a new and unique Valkyrie experience.
If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of entering a wormhole, allow us to briefly explain what you’re missing out on.
Wormholes is EVE: Valkyrie’s latest major update and as well as bringing new balances, HOTAS controller support for PSVR players, Leagues alpha feature and various other bells and whistles, the headline act is most definitely the new Wormholes play mode. Every weekend, running from Friday through to Sunday, a wormhole opens up through which players can travel to an alternate version of New Eden, a mirror galaxy where the usual rules no longer apply and everything has been corrupted in new and unexpected ways.
Last week’s wormhole presented players with a deeply disturbing take on the Cathedral map. It was essentially a Team Deathmatch scenario, but unlike anything encountered in the regular EVE: Valkyrie universe. Warped physics, shedloads of salvage and randomized respawn points led to some pretty chaotic encounters. But there is worse (and by ‘worse’ we mean ‘better’) in store this weekend.
This week’s wormhole, snappily named 82A/134-53LC5, takes place in a dark green and super-creepy version of the Necropolis map with a chaotic twist on the regular Control Mode. Prepare yourself for some frantic back and forth gameplay! Pre-launch testing has already proven it to be a studio favorite.
Oh, and did we mention the fact that the map is riddled with mines that kill you instantly on contact?
An interesting prospect, right? So why are you still reading? Get out there and get busy flying or die trying (the latter is the more likely).

Total Recall – Live the Valkyrie Life
We are aware that a lot of Valkyrie pilots jump straight into multiplayer gaming, high on the prospect of a get-rich-quick, no-guts-no-glory approach to life. As we never tire of telling you, this is a foolhardy way to begin your EVE: Valkyrie experience. Instead, you should get into training via the training modules themselves, the Scout Mode and Test Arena where you can get to know the maps and play around with your weapons.
However, even before you do that, you should check out the Recall missions. They’re short but sweet, giving you a little bit of the history behind EVE: Valkyrie, while also introducing you to some of the play mechanics. The best thing about them is that they give you some insight into the battle raging in New Eden, so by playing them, you experience much more emotional investment in your subsequent battles.
Mission 1 – Station 27
Suspicious sensor readings trigger a fighter squadron to recon the long abandoned and infamous Station 27 complex.
Goal: This first Recall mission is merely an introduction to the game. It occurs at a point following Rán's death and it’s up to you and your teammates, Kal and Nas, to carry on the fight. At this point you are only able to steer and roll the ship and listen to the dialogue. Towards the end of the stage, you come under attack and while you are then able to use your weapons, they have no effect as you are very swiftly killed. A brutal introduction to the game.
Mission 2 – Esmes III
A Federation convoy thunders towards the FEDCAF Logistics Tower anchored in low orbit around Esmes III. Join the support squad under the leadership of Rán Kavik and protect the fleet through this dangerous system.
Goal: We take a step back in time for this episode. Lieutenant Kavik is still alive and as she says at the outset, your reputation is everything. It’s your life beyond death. This is essentially an escort mission, at least to begin with. Follow Rán through the fleet of ships. In terms of training, with this episode you get to fly in formation and use your boost to keep up with the rest of the team. Unfortunately, things go south pretty quickly as a bunch of enemy ships warp into view. What follows is a deadly skirmish in which you get to attack as many enemies as possible before ultimately getting killed. It’s kind of like an introduction to proper combat… a mini Survival Mode if you will.
Mission 3 – Trojan Fleet
Fatal has his eye on a Caldari shipyard in orbit around the planet Saranen and puts a plan in motion to take it for the Schism. Using stolen ships, you join a supply convoy making its way past the minefield and into the heart of the station.
Goal: OK, we’ve switched sides now and we’re fighting alongside Fatal for the Schism faction. Fatal is looking for a stronghold and his target is a Caldari shipyard. This mission serves the purpose of introducing the player to a Control Mode situation. At the start you have to fly in formation, following the green (unarmed) mines and avoiding the red (explosive) ones. Once at the shipyard, there’s a skirmish before you head in and plant communication devices at three points on the map.
Mission 4 – The First Assault
A nearby carrier has arrived to protect the Caldari station, the only thing standing between you and control of the sector. With the information from the Quartermaster, Fatal launches an all-out assault on the shipyard, with you leading the charge.
Goal: Again we are working with Fatal and completing our mission to secure the Shipyard map. Having reopened communications, the Caldari have deployed a Carrier ship and it’s up to you and your teammates to take it out. That’s right, it’s Carrier Assault Mode. It also sets the scene for the action that will take place when you take on real-world opponents in Valkyrie’s multiplayer modes.
Enjoy the Recall missions and be sure to seek out the Echoes in Scout Mode to discover even more about EVE: Valkyrie’s backstory.

EVE: Valkyrie Steam Code Offer for Oculus Rift Customers
Hello Pilots,
We’ve had several requests from our existing Oculus Rift pilots who would like to be able to play EVE: Valkyrie via Steam. We’ve been working on a solution to this and I’m happy to confirm that we are in a position to provide complimentary Steam keys to owners of EVE: Valkyrie on Oculus Rift who got the game for that platform and created a pilot before we launched the game on HTC Vive/Steam (17 November, 2016).
This is a limited-time offer that is only valid for 30 days beginning 23 February, 2017 and ending on 24th March, 2017. Anyone in the above category who would like to redeem a Steam code for EVE: Valkyrie must request it before the period ends. Please contact our Customer Support team via the Valkyrie Support Center with confirmation details of your original purchase using the email address associated with your Oculus account and we’ll endeavour to fulfil your request as quickly as we can.
Terms and conditions:
This offer allows valid applications one copy of EVE: Valkyrie via digital download via Steam. Codes are not transferable. No substitution of codes or physical copies are permitted.
Players will not be able to play via Steam using their existing Oculus pilots. The code allows players to redeem the game through Steam and create a completely new character. We will not be able to transfer any assets (silver, gold, loadouts etc) from existing accounts.
If a player chooses to register their Steam account on the EVE: Valkyrie web site, it’s highly recommended they use a different email address to the one used by their Oculus account.
Players’ callsigns will automatically be generated based on their Steam public profile names. This will not be able to be changed.
If you choose to submit a support ticket to request a code you will need to use the email address associated with your Oculus account and also provide us with your Oculus pilot’s callsign. If you have any questions regarding this, please feel free to contact us via the Valkyrie Support Center
Are you new to New Eden? Then our latest video tutorial is exactly what you need. Here’s where we show you how to get yourself trained up and match fit to take on other pilots in the Multiplayer and Wormholes modes.
We kick off with Training Mode, which is the perfect place to learn the basics or even refresh your skills if you’ve been out of the cockpit for a while. There have been some recent changes to training, so you can find out about those in CCP Starbug’s recent article on evevalkyrie.com
After polishing up on the basics, we then move onto Scout Mode where players can get to know the maps and collect some salvage.
Then it’s time to get serious as we show you how to familiarize yourself with your ship and its weapons in the safety of the Test Arena, taking on some ferocious opponents in Survival.
It’s well worth taking the time to follow the advice here rather than simply diving straight into a multiplayer match, as that will lead to swift and repeated death and can be pretty soul destroying. Plus, it’ll deplete your clone reserves and your fellow players won’t be too happy.
So, enjoy the vid and we’ll see you in space. o7
Wormholes Update is Here!
Prepare yourself for some extreme weirdness. We are enormously excited to announce that our latest major EVE: Valkyrie update, Wormholes, is now live. As well as delivering a whole new game mode, there’s a raft of other stuff included in the update, so let’s take a quick look at what’s on offer.
Wormholes Mode
This whole new play mode is like nothing you’ve seen before in Valkyrie. Every weekend a new wormhole will open up in New Eden, offering pilots new ways to play the game and previously unseen features. Inside a wormhole, players will find maps that are eerily familiar, based on the regular maps yet twisted and corrupted in unexpected ways. Also, the gases that permeate a wormhole will affect a ship’s capabilities and weapon effects. As a special bonus for the launch, the first wormhole has opened right now and will be available right through the weekend.
Leagues
This alpha feature has been introduced with the aim of enhancing competitive play. There are four leagues, the highest of which is Diamond League. Pilots placed here can be considered the best of the best. Ruby League will contain around 1000 pilots and anyone placing at this level can consider themselves to be masterful pilots. Sapphire League will contain 10000 flyers and getting a place here should be seen as a considerable achievement. Finally, Emerald League contains any remaining players who take part in PvP battles and provides the springboard to the higher leagues.
Com Alerts
We’ve had loads of great feedback from the Valkyrie community regarding the game’s Com Alerts feature and the results of that process have been implemented in this update. Attack and Defend have been replaced by Heal Me and Assist Me, as well as context-sensitive messages and icons that appear above a pilot’s ship when the alerts are issued. These changes should improve the speed and efficiency of using Com Alerts.
Those are just the highlights of the new Wormholes update. In addition, graphical improvements have been made to the UI, and PS4 players will get support for the Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS 4 controller. There are also improvements to in-game training and a whole bunch of balancing tweaks.
Get the full story from Lead Game Designer CCP Roo on evevalkyrie.com, then dive into your cockpit and prepare yourself for truly the most unique Valkyrie experience. There’s loads of new stuff to explore and get to grips with, so have fun out there, pilots.

Welcome to the Next Innovation: The Valkyrie League
Hello pilots!
We are thrilled to announce, as part of Wormholes, the fourth major free update for EVE: Valkyrie arriving Feb 15- a significant and substantial new feature for EVE: Valkyrie… Leagues.
It’s our goal to constantly improve EVE: Valkyrie’s competitive experience, so join us for a few moments as we take you through this exciting new development.
The Why and How of the Valkyrie League
Simply put, the Valkyrie League is another step in our journey to support more competitive gaming. The goal we set out on paper was to create an accurate ranking of a player’s performance based on a period of time. It’s an exciting process, but a complex one.
To ensure that every aspect of the feature is working as designed, we really need to feed it with genuine player data in a live environment. There’s a ton of data being collected to feed the various calculations we make while evaluating player performance, and this all needs time to bed in.
Our community has always responded well to major new features and we have many success stories where rules and balancing have been more accurately tuned during this public testing phase. We’re eager to see those league tables fill up for the first time with real pilots.
What are Leagues, in Practical Terms?
The natural, and planned, evolution for Leagues will be the introduction of Seasons.
Seasons work in three key ways:
They give players more opportunities to be promoted within the Leagues
Seasons provide definitive end points where rewards can be given
Most importantly, Seasons can offer a clean slate so that cumulative data is not a governing factor in measuring our best pilots
In many ways, the alpha release of the Valkyrie League can be regarded as a Season in itself.
Once the alpha is underway, we can see how the systems are holding up and then more accurately plan our first true Valkyrie Season.
The Four Leagues Explained
Our prestigious alpha Leagues, of which there are four, are based on precious gemstones.
Diamond League:
Any pilots skilled enough to place within the Diamond League can be considered the best of the best. This league will be populated with the top 10 pilots from around the world. These really are our aces.
Ruby League:
With a membership limit of around 1000 pilots, gaining access to such an exclusive group could also be regarded as a Herculean achievement.
Sapphire League:
Our third League has a membership cap of approximately 10,000 pilots. You’ll still have to put in the hours to gain and maintain a placement. Anyone placing in Sapphire can consider it a significant achievement.
Emerald League:
The fourth and final league is where the majority of our pilots will be ranked. This final league can be considered a default league as simply playing a PVP battle will give you placement within it.
Community Involvement
As always, our community of pilots will play a significant role in shaping the new Valkyrie League feature.
Initially, we will be looking at some specific case studies from pilots that represent a range of skills. We’re keen to see where our ‘best’ pilots place compared to average pilot data. We will not be publishing the exact calculation that is made to achieve league score, so we're hoping that the anecdotal feedback we receive will give us a good temperature check on how players perceive the system. We have to ask ourselves a few crucial questions regarding this process:
Does progression feel fast enough?
Do they notice a difference in the score they receive when playing a match that is full of other pilots and no AI?
Do they notice a difference when engaged in a match for 15 minutes or five minutes?
Do players feel that earning score through playing well and winning are making a difference to their league position?
All these factors have been considered when we calculate League score and during the alpha period we will be looking to tune the values to find the sweet spot.
It’s truly thrilling to be bringing such a significant new feature to the Valkyrie experience and we can’t wait to see how it develops over time.
We’re also creating a questionnaire to help us compile and consolidate player feedback. We’ll share details of when and where players can access this questionnaire once we have the League Alpha tables populated and working as designed.
Do check out the website and forums over on evevalkyrie.com to find out more about the specifics of the Valkyrie League and contribute to the ongoing conversation.
Happy flying!
Wormholes - Introducing Wormhole Events
Our upcoming free major game update introduces Wormholes. These are special events offering you a portal into the unknown. Pilots brave enough to enter will find things have all gone a little bit, different, as rips in reality have brought about some unusual changes to the world of Valkyrie.
Wormholes represent a pocket of space where the normal rules no longer apply, places already known to the pilots but twisted and corrupted. These are windows into another dimension, distorting the universe as we know it. They are by their very nature, fragile and temperamental, offering only a brief glimpse into the mysterious arena. Each traversal through the wormhole conduit destabilizes the structure, causing the anomaly to eventually and catastrophically collapse in on itself.
One wormhole will be open at a time, and will be available to all pilots that have progressed past the Proving Grounds (Rank 5 and above). For the duration of each Wormhole event, this will offer individuals and squads an alternative matchmaking experience separate to the usual Multiplayer Combat.
A wormhole will remain open for a few days and will provide players with a new set of rules to master - maybe it's a modified game mode, unusual environments, special upgrades, new visuals... Jumping into each new wormhole should feel like a moment of exploration and anticipation, and I don't want to spoil the surprise here. You might want to practice your Salvage collecting skills though!
Each wormhole also comes with its own pre-selected set of Ship Loadouts, which will automatically be assigned to your Launchtubes when you enter. Everyone gets the same set of Loadouts, fully upgraded, whether they normally have access to them or not. This provides an excellent opportunity for pilots to try out Loadouts that they might not currently have access to, or rarely fly, but also gives each wormhole its own distinct feel - its own little meta-microcosm.
The combination of exotic game modes, gameplay modifiers, alternative environments and a restricted set of Loadouts really shakes things up and should make your time inside a wormhole feel very different to what you’re used to.
All rewards you expect from standard combat are available inside a wormhole - you'll earn XP, Silver and Salvage, complete Daily Challenges and unlock new Loadouts and Cosmetics. However, as these are unique short-term experiences, Wormholes will not affect your standings on the standard leaderboards. Your wins, losses, kills, deaths and other Pilot Stats will also remain unaffected, so you can feel safe in the knowledge that diving headfirst into the dark reaches of wormhole space isn't going to mess with your KDA, so get stuck in!
But that doesn't mean your new-found wormhole skills are for nothing. You will also find a 'Recent Wormhole' category alongside the usual leaderboards, which will show stats for the current Wormhole event, or the most recent Wormhole when there is no event running. Now is your chance to rise to the top!
So how do you access Wormholes?
There is a new selectable node in the Main Menu - when an event is active you will see a large open wormhole top and center, with a timer to tell you how long is left before the wormhole closes. When no event is active there will just be a small hint of a rip in space, with no way to select it. As a new Wormhole event approaches, looking at the rip will provide you with a countdown timer to the next event- to celebrate the Wormholes update, the first Wormhole anomaly will be available from the day the game update goes live.
We initially plan to run a new Wormhole event every weekend, so keep checking back to find out what each weekend has in store. Hopefully this feature should provide a fun new playground for players to get involved with - and might just surprise you along the way.
As always if you have any thoughts or feedback please let us know via the forums on evevalkyrie.com! We can't wait to hear some of your ideas for new Wormholes.
The Wormholes update arrives Feburary 15.

Wormholes Update: All the Details
Hello pilots,
It gives us great pleasure to introduce the first of our 2017 game updates for EVE: Valkyrie – Wormholes, which will be arriving Feb 15.
Fresh from winter holidays, the team here at Newcastle have been busy creating a range of incredible new features and improvements. We always try to cram our game updates with content, and this one is no exception. You will find the usual bullet point barrage of awesome new stuff below, with some links to expanded articles that we will release later in the week on some of the hot topics.
From watching the player data over the holidays, it’s abundantly clear that lots of (good) boys and girls got the presents they wanted.
We've spied lots of fresh faces in those Clone VATs and Results screens. Welcome to the ranks of the Valkyrie! May your aim be true, and your missiles deadly!
We’re all looking forward to flying and dying amongst friends new and old, so let’s fire up those engines and get out there! Oh, and remember that as of this update… what happens in a wormhole, stays in a wormhole.
Fly deadly
NEW! Game Mode: Wormhole
Wormhole is a brand new, exciting game mode that twists much of what you know about Valkyrie into weird and wonderful new encounters. To say any more would ruin the surprise – come back tomorrow to find out more about Wormholes in a blog from CCP BadHorse.
NEW! Feature: Valkyrie League (Alpha)
The Valkyrie League is the first of multiple features were are developing with the aim of supporting more competitive play. The alpha release of this feature will also allow us to evaluate and tune it using live player data, balancing everything to a nice sweet spot for when we introduce our first Valkyrie Season in the coming months. We’ll be sharing full details about how the Valkyrie League works, and what we are aiming to prove during this alpha period, right here on this blog on Friday.
NEW! Flight Stick Support for Playstation 4
Another hot request since our launch on Playstation VR was for HOTAS support for the Playstation 4 stick junkies. This is now a reality! The Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS 4 is now supported as of this game update. We feel our default configuration offers a nice sweet spot between accessibility and realism. I’m sure everyone has a different version of perfect, so you can also drop into the setting menu to key bind your very own input nirvana.
Feature Improvement: Com Alerts
We’ve given the Com Alerts feature a bit of an overhaul based on tons of excellent feedback from the community. Attack and Defend have now been replaced with Heal Me and Assist Me, and we have a range of new icons and audio to improve the feedback when issuing or receiving messages. One of the more noticeable changes is that icons will now appear above a pilot’s ship when they issue messages such as Assist Me, Heal Me, or Group Up.
We’ve also added more context sensitive messaging when referring to the mode specific objectives A, B, and C that are used in Control and Carrier Assault. So when capture point A is either neutral, or owned by the enemy team, the com alert issued for A will say “Attack objective A” (or) “Defend objective A” if the capture point is under friendly control.
This makes Com Alerts a lot quicker to use, and hopefully more accurate in how the messages are received by teammates. Give it a blast! We’d love to hear your thoughts.
Feature Improvement: Post Match Flow
One of the most requested changes to our post-match flow was to remove the automatic advance between menus when viewing Results, Rewards, Daily Challenges and Unlocks. This is something we all agreed on – I want to look at the pilots and ships for longer! Well, now you can. Movement between all the post-match menus is now totally manual. If you want to sit and inspect the Results menu until the next battle starts, you can. Your rewards are still banked regardless of whether you want to view them or not. The only time you will be automatically moved from a menu is if the next battle starts. Obviously you don’t want to get left behind in those instances!
Feature Improvement: New Player Experience & Pilot Training
We have made a few changes to our New Player Experience (Basic Training) and Pilot Training modules (Fighter, Heavy, Support). The changes were largely to address issues of VR comfort. One of the few instances where a small number of our players experienced “dizziness” was during our training modules. Specifically, those requiring the player to roll. In a series of playtests, we experimented with different backgrounds. Some backgrounds had prominent horizon lines, and others did not, and we also looked at the tolerance of the roll objective (how accurate pilots needed to be when flying through the gate). Based on the feedback we gathered, we have updated some of the backgrounds in our training modules and increased the tolerance of the checkpoint gates. These initial changes are subtle, but should help to make training more comfortable for players sensitive to these objectives.
Feature Improvement: New Drones
You'll notice some fancy new Drones with this update. Our plan was always to create more Valkyrie specific drones, and we’ve finally had chance to get these cool new assets into the game. You may also notice that they now animate into firing position when deployed. Hit Points are unaffected by this change.
Feature Improvement: New Target Reticules for Heavy Class
The revised target reticule for Heavy Class ships will give you far more accurate visual feedback on how close your weapons are to overheating, when they are ready to fire again, and also the accuracy of your weapon based on your rate of fire.
Feature Improvement: New Target Reticules for Support Class
The redesigned target reticule for Support Class ships give you far more visual feedback when using your look-to-lock multipurpose beams. The revised UI provides strong visual indicators when the beam is close to overheating, and more accurately displays when the weapon is ready to fire again.
Feature Improvement: Clone VAT Pilot Feed
You will now be able to see the ship class choices made by human players at the beginning of a match. These appear as icons beside each pilot’s name. Previously you would only see the icons for Fighter, Support and Heavy when an AI made a selection, but this feature has now been tuned to include the choices of real players and bring a more tactical edge to your launch tube choices.
Feature Improvement: Ship Target Brackets
We have improved the accuracy of our targeting brackets. These are the UI elements that appear above a ship to show its shield and armor status. The feature has now been tuned to more specifically match the range of each weapon used in the game. If you see these brackets appear above a ship, then it is within your firing/healing range.
Feature Improvement: Multiplayer Combat Menu
We’ve overhauled the layout and interactions required on the Multiplayer menu. These changes are largely to accommodate the increasing range of options we need to display within this menu. For head tracked selections to work well in VR, we try to limited the number of items to around 5. These items are usually placed within a comfortable viewing distance that accounts for our natural gaze and the field of view, basically ensuring that you don’t have to constantly look over your shoulder to select an item that you may frequently use. With the addition of Wormhole and the Valkyrie League we have exceeded the max values for this menu, so in the interests of comfort and accessibility, all the items within the Multiplayer menu are now on a rotating wheel.
Map Improvements: Cathedral
CCP Starbug has been making gameplay-focused tweaks to the layout of one of our original maps – Cathedral. The changes are not radical, but enhance the tactical aspects of combat by providing more cover in a couple of the open areas of the map. This is one of the huge benefits of running a live game, we get the chance to continue polishing and perfecting long after release to make things even better!
Map Rotation
The map rotation for all PVP game modes has now been reset. There is now an equal chance of every map appearing while playing PVP modes. This is the normal behavior when match making, but we tuned up the occurrence of the Gatecrash map in the last game update to ensure maximum chance of playing on the shiny new map.
XP Balancing: Reduction in mid to high level progression
With this game update we have taken the opportunity to rebalance some of the XP-related milestones within all our core ship class progressions (Fighter, Heavy, Support). We took on-board a lot of feedback concerning a perceived “grind” in some of the mid to high level goals. While our desire was always to have something exciting to look forward to unlocking, the hard data showed that many of our pilots had only crafted a small percentage of the ships we have to offer. This makes our continued efforts to balance gameplay even harder as the pool of pilots giving feedback does not represent the wider community.
Quite simply, we want you to have these ships! And unlocking their blueprints for crafting should never feel like a grind. It should feel like a celebration of your efforts in combat. As such, you will notice some reduced XP milestones. The Silver and Salvage required for crafting has also been altered in some instances.
Rank (Pilot Reputation) milestones are unaffected by these changes.
For balance changes and bugfixes, please head over to our full update on evevalkyrie.com
