[p][/p][p][img src="https://clan.akamai.steamstatic.com/images/36540476/d74c832ecfc31507a6e4a32d2a33ac117ffebea5.png"][/p][p]Ok we got the annoying bugs out of the way and started making progress on Nina again.[/p][p]The tail wagging now syncs with the happy expression[/p][p][/p][p][img src="https://clan.akamai.steamstatic.com/images/36540476/1221f30e3b56172ebffbcb2d9b36367486e67260.gif"][/p][p][/p][p]Now we have to implement her transformation, patrol behavior and some other small special quirks she has.[/p][p]Other than that we need to finish the tree perks and test it all, we are finally close to releasing this update.[/p]

Friday Progress Report 456

[p]Turns out it the traits were not 95% done... my brother only saw half of the list, implemented that and said it was done, I didn't check if they were all working, so it is also my fault.[/p][p][/p][p]NOW we are pretty close to that 95%, but still not there, as we still have to test the implementations properly, but we still had a lot of progress, specially on the trait selection screen, it is now updating properly, it shows a star next to plants you have perk points in and the traits are filtering properly based on tier.[/p][p][/p][p][img src="https://clan.akamai.steamstatic.com/images/36540476/4f5a81ac0ac583e5b7fe9d7191b6cd6c7647d27b.png"][TAG-10][/p][p]The crop perk tutorial is almost done, and I have started work on the tree perks, unfortunatelly most tree traits will be incompatible with crops, but there will still be decent customization options for your orchards.[/p][p][/p][p]After we get these working we will go back to Nina.[/p]

[p]The crop perk system overhaul is almost done, we just need to implement a few more perk types, seeds level up properly, you gain skill in each crop type by harvesting, perks apply to crops correctly, generic perks get unlocked for other crops. Basically almost everything seems to be working fine.[/p][p][/p][p][img src="https://clan.akamai.steamstatic.com/images/36540476/a24dd8b756bf9f6009ea4ff7ca24507c8af3ba05.png"][/p][p]As soon as these last parts are done we will finish up Nina and release a beta before finishing the perks for trees and finalizing the update.[/p]

[p]I made 16 new ingredients, mostly flowers, but some greens too, these will be unlocked by the new crop perks and can make some plants a lot more profitable.[/p][p][/p][p][img src="https://clan.akamai.steamstatic.com/images/36540476/bdd4270e8f8b0f9ffb2feabe46d8dc52d2bbed5b.png"][/p][p][/p][p]Nina is still waiting implementation, right now we are focused on the crop perks, my brother is working on the UI rework and making sure the crops receive the perks the player assigned and I will be working on finishing the tree perks.[/p][p][/p][p]Most perks from trees will be tree-specific and won't be compatible with crops since they grow and operate differently, but there will be some perks compatible between crops and trees.[/p][p][/p][p]Trees will earn stars differently from crops, while crops have their star level set by the seed, tree saplings will have no stars, instead a tree gains one star upon reaching adulthood, plus one per season after reaching adulthood, so in a full year after the tree reaches adult stage it will have access to all perks the player assigned to it.[/p]

[p]Perks assigned at the collections screen now apply on crops, the crop info UI still have to be remade, the new crops don't have levels like the old ones, nor mutate or change. We also have to implement the new perk types and add the new ingredients unlocked by perks like unlocking edible Turnip Flowers.[/p][p][/p][p][img src="https://clan.akamai.steamstatic.com/images/36540476/dc29c3f50390386901f7627f638f8666be67e3d7.png"][/p][p][/p][p]Nina animations are mostly done, her house has furniture, dialogue and quests done, if she was a normal character she would be done, but we still need a few more weeks to sort her special powers and properties, even sleeping is something she does differently.[/p]

[p]The jacket still needs work, it will probably not be available for custom characters because it depends on scripts to work (and we haven't made them yet)[/p][p][/p][p][img src="https://clan.akamai.steamstatic.com/images/36540476/b9657031ee32484536f9e461afd780001d4189ca.png"][/p][p][/p][p]Nina will take a lot longer to implement because of all the custom animations and scripts she will need, so she probably won't be in the game for a while, but most of her clothing and parts are already done.[/p][p][/p][p]I will now start working on her facial expressions, dialogue lines and such. My brother is still working on his perk selection screen, he is making a table with filter and sorting options since there will be many perks.[/p]

[p]My brother is still working on the perk selector, he wants to make the UI pretty robust, so we can reuse it for the inventory overhaul and several other screens that use the old UI model.[/p][p][/p][p]So this week we only have some Nina to showcase, the progress on her model has been slow for several reasons, mostly due to her secret form (she is a Lycan after all), which we won't spoil for now.[/p][p][/p][p][img src="https://clan.akamai.steamstatic.com/images/36540476/6dbc8277f827e3cdfc41be73bd031af512e996ac.png"][TAG-10][/p][p][/p][p]This is more or less what I have in mind, the cloth looks very simple as it is textureless for now (just raw color), I basically have to model and rig each piece of cloth twice so it is taking longer.[/p]

[p]The perk allocation screen right now is at the Collections screen and shows up when you select a crop type, here you also get more info about the crop, and the info will update as you choose perks.[/p][p][/p][p][img src="https://clan.akamai.steamstatic.com/images/36540476/bc759b60af67b567800ac4f14fe1d1d684f0bdc5.png"][/p][p]It is still incomplete, it is not reading the new perks from the xml file yet and most of them are not fully implemented, but it is progress regardless.[/p][p][/p][p]In case you haven't seen our previous posts on how the new perk system will work, each crop now have a skill assigned to it, as you harvest the crops you gain exp, at certain thresholds you gain a perk point (max 9 perks at skill lv100).[/p][p][/p][p]There are 3 perk columns, the left column are the exclusive perks, they are unique to this plant, the middle column have generic perks, once unlocked they can be used on any other compatible plant, and the right column have generic perk slots, here you can apply generic perks from other plants.[/p][p][/p][p]The stars on the left are the seed tier, to access perks on the higher tiers you need a seed with the correct level of stars, otherwise the plant will not gain the perks even if you have them assigned in the UI.[/p][p][/p][p]I made some progress on Nina, but can't show it yet, you will understand why when she is in the game.[/p]
