Good News!

Hello guys!

I am very happy to announce that I have been informed that Evil Labs was chosen as THE BEST UNITY BASED GAME of the Get IT! International Conference, in Odessa, Ukraine.



That is an important step for me and makes me want to work harder on the game, to make it as fun as possible.


As second news, I a want to say that the version 0.75 is coming out in a couple of days (probably on monday). The update is somewhat delayed because I got an eye infection that slowed down my work.

Btw, for those who don't already know, I draw every animation/image by hand, pixel by pixel. That's why the infection compromised my work.

But now I am better and back to action :)

Early Access v0.74 Update

I've been receiving a lot of feedback from players and I am really glad. Thank you all! This is the way that we are going to make a great game. :)
About that, some players complained about the game having a slow start, so I improved the base stats for various buildings.
Also, some players talked about the infection system.
I redid the whole system and now infected customers pay more for the cure according to the disease strength.
Until now, the disease strength defined whatever customers came or not to the store.
There are more things I am aware of and that I am going to work over the next updates. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Long story short, here is what changed...

Early Access v0.74 Changelog:

What's new:


- Added some buildings in the background (still not the definitive version, so tell me what you guys think about how it looks like now ^^)
- Added sick customers balloons
- Added new customers emotion balloons
- Added life recovery automation for staff
- Added staff basic needs sliders, so player can define when staff start auto-recovering
- After selecting staff, when mouse is over a free workplace, it gets a highlight
- Added mouse camera movement, ativated by pressing the scroll bar button (kinda jagged, but I am going to work on it over the next update)

Changes:


- Now hunger balloon starts to be displayed when workers hunger gets to 5%
- Stamina base recovery improved in 10%
- Hunger and Fun base recovery improved in 20%
- You can now easily select staff when it is behind clients (although it was not a bug, it was really anoying)
- Removed character description on the character info menu (the right menu)
- Now infected customers pay more for the cure according to the disease strength

Fixes:


- Fixed Steam achievements for tutorial and scenarios
- Goods price now show correctly after loading the game
- Removed the doubled lamps on the warehouse
- Candies, softdrinks and magazines now sell properly
- Camera doesn't move anymore when typing the save name
- Fixed a bug that make some workplaces disappear after firing a staff
- Fixed a bug that sometimes locked up workplaces
- Fixed a bug that prevented world population stats from loading correctly
- Non working staff now shouldn't appear behind working staff
- Fixed a bug which happened the second time the player tries to finish the tutorial
- Goods text are now correctly displayed in portuguese and spanish
- Various other save/load improvements and fixes
- Other minor bug fixes and improvements

About the next update:


- New buildings will be added (including the Genetics Lab and the Necrotics Lab)
- I am going to add the possibility to change the keyboard keys for the camera
- Other stuff

Update v0.73a HotFix 2

Last time I had to disable building on pause mode because of a critical bug. An I am really sorry for any inconvenience caused.

I redid the building system of the game, changing the collison method, to fix a number of issues.

So, to short story, this is what changed:

Changes:


- The player now can build with the game paused, 1x and 3x...
- The camera movement now works in a fixed value, so the player can move the camera even with the game paused

Fixes:


- Fixed the paused build issue
- Fixed a bug that happened when a staff died while using the elevator
- Fixed an error that occured while launching the game in 32-bit
- Fixed a bug that let the player build in some weird places
- Some more minor repairs

Short-term plans:


- I plan to add an option to let the player change the camera speed/sensitivity in one of the next updates, this should make the game more confortable to play

Oh! And if you have any issues with your game after this update please let me know as soon as possible. As much as I have tested the new collision method and the 32bit fix, there may be some issues that may happen on specific system configurations that I am not aware of.

Update v0.73a HotFix

Someone just reported to me a bug that happens sometimes while building in pause mode.

While I am trying to fix this, I have temporaly disabled building on paused mode.

I know that this is not great and a lot of people like to plan their building carefully, but I'll fix this as soon as possible.

I hope you guys understand.

Patch Notes v0.73a - Rebalancing

The game is releasing tomorrow, so this should be the last patch before the game release.
I've worked in some changes to give the players a faster start. I hope it makes the game more fun.
Also, I fixed some more bugs I found and the betas have reported to me.

- Starting money changed to $1200
- Basic Lab cost changed to $500
- Messhall cost changed to $500
- Living room cost changed to $400
- Infirmary cost changed to $800
- Clients base money range changed

Fixes:
- Fixed a bug with an EasterEgg

Known bugs:
- Sometimes two workers use a bed at the same time. I am trying to fix this, but it rarely (or never! ::angryface:: ) occurs on my tests and debbuging, so I will need some more days to find out why this is happening.

Early Access v0.73 Update

Hello again,

While I am working day and night to make the game as fun as possible, I know sometimes I may make some mistakes. Sorry about that.

That said, many people were asking me for a fast forward or speed boost button, and so I did it! :)

So for this update:

- Added a Game Speed 3x button
- Added speed buttons tooltips
- Fixed some minor bugs

* If you find any bugs while using the speed button please tell me. Although I have tested it, there may be problems that I haven't found yet.

Early Access v0.72b HotFix

I've just found out that for some reason I have caused a bug in the tutorial while improving the game on the last patch. Sorry about that! ːsteamfacepalmː

That should be fixed now.

Thanks to the betas, we found out a few bugs that went unnoticed. Fortunately, I already have been able to fix them. I have improved A.I. for clients and added some new angry balloons as well.
