Demo, Hotfixes & More
Update 1.2.3 includes some hotfixes. After some research, I managed to regained access to the hidden adventure in Unity. Therefore, I implemented some fixes and improvements.
I've also finally made a demo version of the game. I am working on releasing it on Steam, so you can download it for free and play through the first half of the game.
I've added a few things to the hidden adventure. You now have an additional way to progress through the first part of the hidden adventure, which comes at the cost of an extra challenge in the second part. Also, there is a slight visual upgrade to all parts of the hidden adventure. I've also re-enabled post-processing and fog, which was missing in the last Update.
Additionally, I've added the current version number to the bottom-right corner of the options screen.
The file size of the game increased a bit (to ~561 MB), because of some assets that were added.
Have fun!
Mighty improvements
With Update 1.2.2 come various performance, interaction and also some minor visual improvements.
Additions:
Added an additional hint in room 13
Improvements:
Many performance improvements not only make for better overall frame rates, but also reduce any frame rate drops you might have encountered in the past Improved player movement to make traversal more enjoyable Added sounds when hatches of cube containers are opening Improved the sound timings of opening doors Reduced game disk space usage from ~825 MB to ~489 MB Improved And-Node and Or-Node visibility
Changes:
Upgraded the project to Unity 2021 Switched to the Vulkan graphics API Changed cube physics to be more in line with how the cubes are intended to feel Cubes now rotate freely when held One very special cube is now very bouncy Slightly altered the physics of cubes to be a bit more natural
Notable:
The mysterious and hidden "adventure" got even more mysterious and hidden, as no matter what I do, the scene cannot be opened in Unity and therefore can not be changed anymore (it may not be as enjoyable as the rest of the game... but it was never meant to be anyway)
Have fun!
More Easter Eggs & Hotfix for Update 1.2
Update 1.2.1 is mainly a hotfix. Fixed a bug where a certain door would unintentionally open, but the player couldn't get through. However, this did not prevent progression in the game.
In addition, three more Easter Eggs have been implemented to match the new menu password input field.
Have fun!
Mystery awaits
This is the biggest Update for Examination Chambers yet. With Update 1.2 you can enjoy the improved visual quality as well as the added hidden content!

Now with German text & subtitles
With this update, I added German text and subtitles. You can now play the whole game in German. All audio will still be English, but I hope that German text language support is a welcome addition for some of you.
Some players have pointed out that they would prefer if the audio from the speakers would be more evenly hearable from all over the room. Until now, the sound was purely spatial which reinforced the impression that the sound came from the speakers. I decided to go with a mixed approach. You should now always hear the voice lines properly, but there is still some 3D effect to it (when you get closer to the speaker or further away). I hope you like it this way as much as I do.
I also fixed some minor bugs and implemented some small improvements. If you encounter any bugs, please consider reporting them to me. Thank you very much for reading and playing.
