Dev Diary #09 | New milestones, Drones, Astron, and more…
Howdy, Partners!
Hope you're all doing great and are ready for another Dev Diary! It's been a while since the last one, but we've had a lot on our plate lately.
The good news is that we’ve hit some major milestones, and to back it up - we've got some exciting stuff to share with you today!
Drones
First up, let's talk about drones! In ExeKiller they may occasionally catch your eye when flying above, but beware – they’re not just for show. Stay alert and be careful when drones are nearby!
We showed them in the previous Dev Diary, but this time let's take a better look!
WIP
We also have some outdoor footage of post-apocalyptic Staten Island to share with you! Although it’s just a work-in-progress, it definitely showcases the environments and atmosphere in ExeKiller.
Next, let's introduce you to Astron. This company plays a significant role in the universum of Exekiller, and you’ll see their ads and activities frequently.
Community Milestones
That’s not all, as we're excited to announce that we've surpassed 600 members on our Discord server and are nearing 5 300 followers on X. These milestones mean a lot to us, and we’re grateful for your support.
It’s amazing to see our community grow, and we can't wait to share more with you. Oh, and if you haven’t joined our Discord yet, don’t hesitate - JUST CLICK HERE, PARTNERS!

Dev Diary #8 | Drones, gas mask, two-headed snake, and more…
Partners!
We hope you're all doing great and that you enjoyed our last devlog. We're always thrilled to keep you in the loop with what's cooking on the development front!
Today, we're diving into some of the recent goodies we've been working on. Expect mutated creatures, a sprinkle of futuristic gadgets, and - of course - some wardrobe essentials to kick things off!
New clothing
Worn Citrolla hat! You can check out the concept art and its in-game render to see how it evolved. We hope we managed to get that gritty post-apocalyptic vibe.
Let us know what you think!
Gas Mask
Prepare for perilous radiation zones. Your gas mask is your lifeline, but filters won't last forever. Stay sharp and stay alive as you navigate these deadly areas.
Drones
Next on the list: drones!
They might not look like your typical drones from today, but trust us, they fit perfectly into the vibe we're going for. And stay sharp - they are more than just eye candy.
Two-headed snake
Get ready to encounter creatures that'll make you look again, like our two-headed snake. Double the heads, double the scare factor... But at least it looks quite dope, right?!
Finally
Big thanks for sticking with us this far! We hope you like where the game is headed and the updates we're sharing. Don't forget to follow us on Facebook, X/Twitter, and Instagram for more juicy details.

Dev Diary #7 | New buildings, car, climbing, and more…
Howdy, Partners!
Welcome in 2024! Just twelve months left until we step into the release year of ExeKiller... Time flies when you're knee-deep in game development, right?
Recently, we welcomed a bunch of new members to the Paradark team, confidently progressing toward the direction we've set. Even though there is still a long way to go, we're eager to share with you the progress we’ve made over the last couple of weeks!
New buildings
Alright, let's chat about those new buildings we've been working on! So, remember how our Discord crew voted for the City Ruins biome? Well, it's happening!
Car WIP
Shifting gears to the wheels and rides. We've been getting down and dirty with textures and fine-tuning the car model. We could talk your ear off about all the little tweaks and details, but let's cut to the chase: you gotta see it to believe it.
We're all ears for your thoughts on this! Your feedback is priceless!
Climb, climb, climb…
Lately we've been pouring a lot of energy into crafting climbing mechanics, and we're thrilled to show you what we’ve come up with.
Just a heads-up, this isn't the end game yet, so expect a few tweaks down the road. Still, even at this point, we're thrilled to know how you like it!
Social milestones
And hey, let's give ourselves a pat on the back for some big wins on the social scene! We've crossed the 500-member milestone on our Discord server (how cool is that?!), and our Twitter is skyrocketing with over 3100 followers!
Huge shoutout to everyone who's been spreading the love and joined our community.
Music for your ears!
While we don't have any new concept art today, we've got something special for you on YouTube – the latest track that will be featured in the game.
Consider this the first taste of what's to come! Grab your headphones and vibe with us.
Thank you!
Before we wrap things up, we just wanted to say a huge thanks for diving into our dev diary and for all the amazing support you've given us. Honestly, it means the world to us!

Dev Diary #6 | Subway Showcase, vending machine, Winston, and more…
Howdy, Partners!
As 2024 is just around the corner, we're excited to share what we've been working on over the past few weeks. It's been quite a journey, and we can't wait to show you the latest developments in ExeKiller! Come with us!
Epic Games
Before we move on to the news about our game, we would like to clarify a misunderstanding that has been caused by our recent announcement regarding the Epic Mega Grant.
Even though we did receive the Grant, it does not mean that ExeKiller will be available exclusively on Epic Games Store and we would like to make that very clear. We want as many people as possible to enjoy our upcoming game, so we have no plans of making it exclusive (or temporarily exclusive) to any platform.
The support from Epic Games changes absolutely nothing, except that we now have additional resources to further refine ExeKiller, which will benefit everyone!
Gas Mask
Let's kick things off with the Gas Mask. In a post-apocalyptic world, it can be a lifesaver, and we've paid close attention to the details to make it both realistic and appropriately eerie.
Vending Machine
Do you like vending machines? Who doesn't! As you might guess, you'll also be able to come across them in the world of ExeKiller. Recently we've been working on them a bit and we can now show you the first results!
They are produced by Nutronix Corporation, which specializes in food production. Importantly, these won't be static models in the game, but fully interactive devices - you'll be able to find company products in them! Sometimes they might save your health or even your lives!
Say hello to Winston!
Now, let's introduce you to Winston – the '60s sensation from Robotion Company! Winston, a stylish robot designed for household tasks, has evolved towards conquering factories and dazzling as an office clerk. His color-changing jumpsuit adds a touch of flair to each task, making him not just a robotic assistant, but a fashionable companion for the future as well!
Oh, and we advise you to remember Winston. We have a feeling you'll meet him more than once… ;)
Subway
It's time for the cherry on top! Would you like to see the level we've been working on lately? Be our guest!
The level may look great, but we’re warning you - danger lurks around every corner! The Blind Justice faction is hiding there, but... More on that later!
See you!
Lastly, we want to express our gratitude for your continued support and interest in the development of ExeKiller. The game is created for you and with you, and we hope to keep crafting a project that fulfills our shared dreams.
What’s more - remember that you are always welcome on our Discord server! By joining, you can help us develop the game - recently, there has been a question regarding skills, so we are waiting for your votes!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey!
We recently spoke, but we have information that can't wait…
We have received an Epic MegaGrant!
Yes, that’s right! And we couldn't be more thrilled about this fantastic opportunity that's about to set us on the path to crafting an outstanding, polished game.
So, what's the grand plan, you ask?
We're going to put this MegaGrant to excellent use by fueling the development of Exekiller. This financial boost is poised to be very helpful in delivering the gaming experience you've all been eagerly anticipating.

Dev Diary #5 | Mocap session, combat animations, and more…
Howdy, Partners!
As promised, we're committed to keeping you in the loop with our ongoing development. We want you to witness the evolution of ExeKiller in real time, so today we have some truly exciting things to share! Let us show you…
Mocap Session
We've noticed your feedback regarding animations in the game and you can rest assured, we are not turning a blind eye to your comments - we're taking action!
In a recent motion capture session, we had the opportunity to document some movements that will be integrated into the game. Our main goal is to enhance immersion and bring the game world closer to reality! At least when it comes to motion!
Beat them up!
But that's not all! In our pursuit of realism, we're paying attention to every animation detail. Today, we're thrilled to showcase what we've been working on recently - combat animations. Check out how effectively you can take down Winston!
It would be safe to say that our opponents won't have an easy time with us… There will be more combat techniques, but we’ll tell you more about them another time!
Turrets
Furthermore, we're excited to announce that we've completed and textured some new 3D models. And let us introduce one of them - the turret. This dangerous tool will make your life harder in the game, and learning how to defend against it will be essential for survival.
Beware, it can be quite deadly! Take a look for yourselves:
There's more in store…
For those of you who have stuck with us until this point, we have a little surprise - a highly atmospheric concept art. We hope you enjoy it!
And we think it's a great idea to turn this into a tradition - a visual treat at the end of each dev diary. What would you say?
See ya!
Finally, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued presence and support throughout Exekiller's development. We are working hard to deliver the best possible project by 2025. We're confident that we'll achieve this goal together!

Let's make Exekiller even more incredible together!
Thanks for being a part of our fantastic Exekiller community.
Long time no hear, huh? It's high time to change that! As a token of our appreciation for sticking with us and continuously fueling our progress on Exekiller, we want to keep you in the loop about our progress at least once a month!
So, even though this is the fourth Dev Diary, consider it a sort of a fresh start! The first of many that will gradually bring us closer to the big day in 2025, when our game will finally debut.
Let's kick off right from the beginning! Here's what has been happening with us lately!
Fashion always matters!
First of all, we are constantly working on fashion. In the past few weeks we've been heavily focused on clothing items and essentials within the post-apocalyptic world.
Take a look at the leather coat that some of the outlaws will wear. It seems to resonate perfectly with their demeanor and brings a unique aura to their look. It's likely that foes will have second thoughts before venturing into their path, agreed?
And if the presentation alone doesn't convince them, we're more than willing to treat them to something stronger! As luck would have it, we've recently been working on a 3D model of a grenade - a truly explosive toy.
Moreover…
Certainly, visuals matter, but what would game graphics be without proper animations? In the past few weeks, we've also dedicated our efforts to this aspect, focusing heavily on grenade animations.
That’s not all!
Did you make it this far? Know that we greatly appreciate it! As a reward, we have a little surprise in the form of a Staten Island concept art. As you can see, it's very atmospheric.
And even though you'll often encounter many dangers there, we're striving to make the exploration itself a unique experience!
In the end...
As you can see, a lot is happening! And while the road to the release is undoubtedly long, we're continuously working on implementing various features, big and small, to bring Exekiller closer to perfection.
If you want to actively participate in the game's creation, we encourage you to join our Discord. That's where information surfaces first, and you can have direct conversations with us. Don’t hesitate - click here and join now!
We have incredible news to share with you! We are absolutely thrilled because we have just signed an agreement with an amazing publisher, Null Games. This is exactly the moment we never even dreamed of, not even in our wildest dreams. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our publisher for the immense trust and support we have already received.
At the same time, we want to inform you that due to the financial support we have received, we will have to postpone the release date of the "ExeKiller" to 2025. It's a tough decision, but we are doing it all to deliver a better game to you. Your satisfaction is our top priority, which is why we want to dedicate more time to perfect every detail.
We understand that you may be concerned about this delay, but we kindly ask for your understanding. Our goal is to create a game that exceeds your wildest expectations. We are working on "Exekiller” with tremendous dedication, striving for perfection in every aspect.
We are incredibly grateful for your support and trust, which you show us every day. You are the driving force behind our team, and without you, nothing would be possible. We promise that the delay in the release of "Exekiller" is in your best interest.
Thank you for being part of our journey and patiently waiting for what the future holds. Over the next years, we will be working to create a game that will amaze you. Stay strong!
Well, for us it’s been one hell of a ride. Since we last spoke, we've begun the transition to Unreal Engine 5. It's not a walk in the park, but it's a necessary step so that you can immerse yourself in the world of Exekiller the way it was always meant to be - graphically rich, smoothly running and, above all, bug-free. UE5 will help us do this faster and better, especially with new features such as nanite, lumen and so on.
We left you dry for a few months, but you were never forgotten. We have a treat for you - the latest gameplay from Exekiller's scorched earth homeland,
We hope you will continue to give us that credit of trust, and we promise, it will be repaid with new updates or exctiting news.
