Exo One

Exo One: Prologue - now available

Hi everyone!

An exciting bit of news today: I’ve just released Exo One: Prologue - a free demo of the game for everyone to try!

The Steam Summer Festival went so well, and it was awesome seeing so many new people trying the game, so I thought I’d make an updated version of that demo available so people can try out the game any time! The Prologue is mostly about trying to help new folks discover games they might not have seen before (but also for those of you who couldn’t get enough of the Summer Fest demo and might just wanna run through it again). The Prologue is super short - only around 10 minutes or so of gameplay - just to give people a little taste of what Exo One is all about.

Download it here:

If you try the Prologue and enjoy it, please chuck us a Wishlist on the main game page - this really does make so much difference for indie games like Exo One! If you have any feedback, please do let us know over on the Exo One Discord.

Have fun!
-Jay

Explore the first planet of Exo One - demo out now!

The Exo One demo is now available!

This is a SHORT demo - only about 7-10 minutes of gameplay, depending on how quickly you pick things up - and is just intended to give people a first little taste of Exo One. I’m pretty much developing Exo One solo, so I had to keep things short so I could keep my focus on the main game! :D

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1320920

Exo One is a single-player, interplanetary adventure game where you pilot an alien craft capable of manipulating gravity, and this demo gives you the opportunity to get to grips with the game’s main mechanics, and take a first-hand look at the game’s very first alien planet.

You can play the demo with keyboard and mouse or most compatible controllers.

Of course, in the main game, you’ll get to discover a whole host of amazing, high-sci-fi planets, float through boiling cloud formations, slide and roll down sheer mountain faces, and drift toward alien horizons!

As part of the festival, I’ll be doing an AMA over on the Exo One Discord this Friday, answering anything you throw at me! If you’ve not joined the Discord, full details about the AMA are in the new Steam Summer Festival “AMA-Questions” channel.

New Monolith Planet gameplay video!

Hi everyone,

As Exo One is getting closer and closer to being finished, I wanted to give you a closer look at the Monolith Planet:

The Monolith Planet is a kind of summation of all the best parts of Exo One - cloud surfing, water skipping, structure riding, speed boosters and wind currents. While other planets show hints of structures and an alien civilization, this one has players traversing colossal floating structures joined by a blanket of cloud.

For a more detailed, longer gameplay video in better quality, plus info about the new beta for Kickstarter backers as well as a general development update, check out the latest Kickstarter update here.

Have a good day everyone, more updates to follow soon!

Exo One playable at PAX Australia in one week!

Only 7 days to go before Exo One will be playable at PAX Australia!

If you're going, look for me and the game at PAX Rising in the Expo Hall, I'll probably be wearing my black Exo One t-shirt!

If things are going spectacularly and it's hard to get on and play the game, you'll also be able to visit the SA Government's booth, which will have a pod with Exo One on it, thanks very much to the people at DTTI for that - I barely had to lift a finger and boom! I'm in two places at once at PAX!

What can you expect in the PAX build?
I was tossing up between a couple of planets and settled on including three - the first tutorial planet, sandy-snowy Sagan4, the ice world and cloud-seas of Gnowee, and the jagged, watery landscapes of Obias III!

All the details including videos of two of the planets can be found in the latest Kickstarter update.
