We just wanted you to know that we rolled out a new build. And while we send out little build updates real sneakily sometimes, we thought now would be a good time to address the changes.
First off, there's a small number of people who experienced having their save files unrecognized by the game. This is usually due to hardware and/or registry changes that mess with the save files. We've added a new save backup system to avoid this - now, when there are changes to the registry data that damages the save file, the system will revert to the backup.
We've also added a few quality of life features, such as decreasing the speed of auto text and making auto text start automatically when you turn it on (there were some instances before where it wouldn't).
A lot of our other work is happening on the backend, but this just means we're much closer to releasing the full game! We hope you're enjoying it so far (and maybe leave a review when you do? ːsteamhappyː ), and we look forward to sharing with you the rest of the story!
P.S. There was a report of someone getting stuck in Chapter 5. If they are where we think they are in the game (they haven't provided additional information), then it should be impossible to get stuck there. If you are experiencing this, please do let us know.
May 19th Update
An update has just been pushed for Exogenesis ~Perils of Rebirth~. This addresses an issue some users were having where hitting an old flag would cause the game to end at the point the demo ends despite running the full version of the game.
The Final Chapter! Are you ready for the BIG reveal?
Hello, everyone!
We know it's been a while. Sorry about that. Our last update was in October, and it has been a bumpy ride. Recently, it's been tough for everyone all over the world...but, we bring good news!
Our new content update brings the FINAL CHAPTER to Exogenesis ~Perils of Rebirth~! Without spoiling anything for people who haven't played through the end of the current Early Access content, we admit the ending is *quite* a tease. Now you can play past that. ːsteamhappyː
It's a small-ish slice of what's to come, but we hope it conveys how we're combining the narrative and gameplay segments in the final chapter of Exogenesis. We have much of the rest the game already playable. However, we would like you to be a part of this journey as we enter the final stretch.
Lastly, we'd just like to thank our gracious publisher - Sekai Project! Without them, this wouldn't be possible. So please, check them out and be sure to try their other great titles!
And of course, thank YOU for being here! We're excited to show you the finalé of Exogenesis! :)

Welcome to Exogenesis ~Perils of Rebirth~!
Greetings!
Thank you for checking out our game! We'd like to take this opportunity during the Steam Summer Sale to talk more about what we've been up to.
Exogenesis ~Perils of Rebirth~ was successfully funded (thanks to over 1600 backers) on Kickstarter a few years ago. Since then, we've faced a lot of challenges, but now the game is playable for you to enjoy.
This post-apocalyptic visual novel/adventure game hybrid is heavily inspired by Zero Escape, so you'll find mature dark themes and an overarching sci-fi mystery plot.
It also takes inspiration from the lively and emotional character sprites from the Ace Attorney series, as well as the intense court room moments. The latter translate to "interrogation" sections in Exogenesis, where you use profiles and evidence you've acquired to unravel hidden secrets.
If any of that sounds promising, you can try our demo - it offers a few hours of gameplay, and we hope you like it!
