Here are a few of the notable changes for this patch:
After death players will now be shown a 2 minute countdown screen, during this period they can be revived. If the countdown expires before a teammate can revive them, the player in countdown is dead for good and will be sent back to the ship or enter Spectator Mode.
Upon Death, players will receive a care package containing assorted weapons, and other more standardized items. The weapons range from Tier 1 to Tier 2 (any weapons up to iron tier). The other items include one portion of dried meat, one portion of dried fish, one bandage, one splint, and one pair of tattered pants.
We hope these changes will help improve gameplay for all of our users! Check below for the full list of patch notes, and as always, safe expeditions!

Skill Tree PTR
PTR Server
Hello Expeditioners! On June 29th our hardworking developers will be releasing a Public Test Realm server for all of our adventurous community members! The PTR branch is for volunteers to help our team test before we launch the Skill Tree in July. Players will start a brand new character in PTR, but these testing characters will NOT carry over to the actual launch of the skill tree. When that happens everyone will start fresh again, and the PTR will be taken down.
Classes
Our Developers are also working on a brand new Class System to be released with the skill tree! The descriptions are as follows:
Conquistador (tank, one handed and shield)
Galloglas (warrior, two handed and polearms)
Ronin (melee dps, duel wield)
Acolyte (healer, qi skills, support)
Hashashin (assassin, one handed and a mix of combat Qi skills and Alchemy)
Alchemist (Utility, crossbow, Potions, grenades)
Ascended (fully customizable)
As it stands now, the first 6 classes are for those who wish to jump right into gameplay that offers easy role selection. They will be using a preset skill tree that allows them to spec into a role immediately. However, the Ascended class is fully customizable, and they will have full freedom to control what kind of skills they wish to allocate. As of now these classes will be released in July with the skill tree, but depending on a few factors, may also be released to the PTR server for public testing beforehand.
Note that all features and timelines are subject to change at the discretion of the Expedition Agartha team

PVE, Dueling, Spectator Mode
Hello Expeditioners!
The Expedition Agartha Team is excited to share some new updates with you. Over the past few weeks, the developers have been pumping out some incredible new features that will be ready to launch tomorrow. While we continue to work hard on the Skill Tree, we are excited to announce this next patch will include some of your highly requested features: PVE only Mode, Dueling Mode, and Spectator Mode!
Since being in early access we have taken into account your requests and feedback. We would like to thank each and every one of you who have been here engaging in our community and playing our game! Expedition Agartha wouldn’t be what it is without you.
Note that all features and timelines are subject to change at the discretion of the publishing and development team
PVE Mode
Explore the world of Agartha in our new PVE Mode! Now you can deep dive into the Lost Land of Mu and discover all that our world has to offer without having to worry about attacks from rival expeditioners. Can you uncover the mysteries of Agartha, and survive the dangerous environments and unknown terrors? This journey has so much to uncover - if you can live to enjoy your spoils!
Note: Due to the higher risks, PVP mode will grant more experience and higher quality loot.
DUELING
On the tutorial island before you onboard the ship, there is a dueling arena where you and your friends can battle it out for guts and glory. Just be sure you know exactly what you’re getting yourself into, and maybe stock up on potions before facing off with friendly foes.
SPECTATOR MODE
Something is following you? It’s the spirit of your deceased teammate! Now, when party members perish they have a choice between going directly back to the ship or palling around with their friends still in the game. You can toggle your view between your teammates by using the left and right arrow keys. Opposing teams, don’t worry, their scope is specifically locked on their friends so they cannot use this mode to snipe other players or warn their teammates of impending doom. This is all so your friends can still be a part of the action while waiting to hop into the next expedition!
SKILL TREE
And of course, no Expedition Agartha announcement would be complete without more sneak peeks of our ever growing skill tree! You can equip all sorts of brand new abilities that unlock new styles of gameplay. We personally wouldn’t want to mess with anyone who knows Qi lightning that’s for sure.
FREEBOOTER REMOVED
Freebooter mode has been removed, it has been replaced by a welfare package that players can pick up anytime. You can access the welfare package on the insurance screen. It has a 20 minute cooldown that is only reduced when you are in game. The only mode in which freebooter mode still exists is the Freebooter arena.
That’s all for now! Join our Discord to stay up to date with fun goings on in the community, and engage with other players. We look forward to reading your comments about these new developments and cannot wait to release them for your enjoyment.
As always, safe expeditions!
5/19/23 Bugs and Balancing
Added stats to clothes so they actually matter now
Nerfed light shields and buffed heavier shields by modifying their dodge speed and stamina penalties
Fixed bug where Crossbow Bolt would cause you to lose damage on weapons if unequipped
Fixed bug where you could use trading hub in an expedition
5/17/23 Parry rework and Trading Hub
Parrying Changes: All weapons parry times have been moved to the beginning of the block animation. One handed, Polearm, and daggers now have a 3 frame window to parry. Two handed and Duel wield have a 4 frame window. And Shields have a 5 frame window. We hope this new increased difficulty of parrying helps PvP balance and discourages parry turtling.
Trading Hub has been added. Players can now securely trade with each other in game.
Shields now automatically drop if you try to equip and weapon but have no inventory space.
Support Links added to ESC menu.
Speculative fixes to stop the server freeze hack.
Updated Descriptions for many resource items so new players understand what they are used for.
Expedition Agartha Q&A #1
Hello Expeditioners!
Below are the Questions and Answers from our most recent inquiry! Enjoy!
Will you release a roadmap?
Currently, development is at a very dynamic stage and things change quite frequently, so releasing a long term roadmap wouldn’t assist the community. However, even though we don’t have a public roadmap for viewing, we’re happy to answer some of your questions regarding the game. Just understand that things are always subject to change.
Will there be a wipe before the release of the skill tree? If so, how will the wipe work? What types of content can we expect in the future? (New weapons? Monsters? Maps? Lore/quests?)
Pretty much all of the above. If the game is successful, we plan to have many expansions focusing on diverse settings featuring cultures from all over the world.
Will there be a wipe before the release of the skill tree? If so, how will the wipe work?
Yes, everybody will be reset to a new save. DLC bonuses will continue to be awarded on a fresh wipe, and players will always have their achievement titles.
Will all of the skills be available on release?
There are many skills that we have ideas for that may not be released on time, but everything you see in the “under construction” page will be released with the skill tree update.
Will there be a system in place for unused skill points after maxing?
You will be limited with skill points so you can’t actually fill out the entire tree. This is to promote build diversity so no player can do everything. There will be a way to reset your skill tree for a cost.
Will we have fist weapons as a weapon type?
It’s possible there could be unique gloves that increase fist capabilities.
In the future will there be more focus on PVE-Elements?
Yes, we have big plans for PvE content, stay tuned! We are currently brainstorming a 3 player co-op mode of the game that focuses more on a linear level experience.
Thank you so much for your submissions, we genuinely enjoyed reading through all of them and it's encouraging to know you are so invested in our community. We hope to host more Q&A's in the future and cannot wait to hear from you again!
As always, safe expeditions!
