Hello Steam Community members and fans of the XG2 experience. We are happy to report that XG2 is back in purchasable status as of today.
We have spent the last month fine tuning, and addressing as many of the issues as is possible with the title. A very special thank you goes to Dege for his outstanding support, and critical input to the issues we had experienced.
To summarize what has been addressed with this update
We have been able to address the low FPS issues reported.
We have also been able to address issues with game play being too fast for some customers via a FPS Limiter function we have built into the launcher
(for those that find the game is running too fast, we find that 80% game speed is).
We have mitigated the issues of crashing on startup. We have tested as many scenarios as is feasible on this one.
We have fixed the soundtrack matching/missing issues.
Known/Outstanding Issues
We have found a small percentage of test machines for which the controller config does not work consistently.
Tabbing out of the game can cause controls to be lost (keyboard and controller)
Control configurations are not saved depending on OS build version running
In-Game menus does not have controller support
We have spent more time testing across various machine setups, and we are hopeful we have addressed the majority of concerns which have been brought to us by our customers.
As always, we thank the Community for its honest, candid, and in most cases, helpful feedback for us to bring XG2 to a quality level that is in keeping with the expectations of the fans.
Hotfix - May 19, 2017
We have recently pushed out an update that hopefully addresses 90-95% of bugs reported by the community and adds some additional functionality to the launcher.
There is a thread in the community hub that details some of the development progress we've been addressing these past couple of weeks.
We hope to re-enable purchases soon
Extreme-G Purchases Temporarily Disabled
Due to a few game impacting issues that have been brought to our attention in the community, we felt it was best to disable further purchases of the game until we are able to address them. Although we did conduct fairly rigorous testing, clearly we missed out on issues that our fans are seeing, and we feel it appropriate to get them resolved before putting XG2 back up for sale.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and promise that we will re-enable purchases again as soon as possible, after some of these problems have been addressed.
May 3, 2017 - HotFix
Day 1 Update
Through the course of the day we have issued a few hot patches and are continuing to fix items as we become aware of them. Although we are working diligently on them, we do need to apologize for not being proactive on that front but we do appreciate the feedback in the community section.
Fixed a soundtrack issue of tracks missing. This was due to a bad upload to Steam. A single track however is not playing and the reasons are being investigated.
Soundtrack MP3s were updated as well, restoring missing files for the XG2 PC version.
Launcher was updated with controller support for big picture mode users.
Launcher was also updated blocking resolutions higher than 1440p (QHD). Unfortunately, this is a patch scenario while we investigate some of the graphical glitches and problems happening beyond QHD. We hope to restore additional resolutions quickly and add some additional aspect ratio support.
We will keep the community apprised as rollouts take place. Thank you.
Extreme-G 2 To Launch May 2, 2017
We have a confirmed date of May 2, 2017 as to when Extreme-G 2 will finally be made publicly available for purchase.
Original aim was for mid to late April release, however for reasons beyond our control, we are no longer able to guarantee an April launch.
The game is now currently under review and awaiting for final approval.
Throwback Entertainment would like to extend it's thanks to all of it's community members for their wonderful aspirations, thoughts, ideas, contributions, and feedback towards this classic title, and we would like to say that we are far from finished with this franchise!
