Cross-play arrives in F1® 22
How do you use cross-play?
You’ll need to enable cross-play in the Game Options > Settings menu.
After enabling cross-play, when you select Social Race you will have the ability to invite and join other sessions across all platforms. Disabling cross-play will only match you with those in your console family (e.g. PC players).
The Friends Hub is where you can review any pending friend requests or session invites. You can also search for and add friends as well as those you’ve recently raced against. Friends Hub can be accessed from the Main Menu by clicking F10 on a keyboard and then selecting the Friends Option.
As a session host, in order to invite someone to your lobby from another platform, head to the Invite Friends option in the lobby and invite them from there. They’ll receive an invite through the Friends Hub.
If you come across any bugs or issues with the game, please visit Answers HQ where you can report these for a member of the team to look into. Also, our Community-raised issues thread where you can track upcoming tweaks and changes can be found here.

F1® 22 | Portimao
The Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, better known as Portimao, has been added to EA SPORTS™ F1® 22 as a free circuit update for all players*. Players will also receive China’s Shanghai International Circuit on September 12**. Players can re-live the historic track through F1® 22 footage captured using back-to-back FORMULA 1 GRANDE PRÉMIO DE PORTUGAL winner Lewis Hamilton in this year’s W13 car:
“We know our players love the thrill of competing on more circuits, and they don’t get much better than Portimao,” said Lee Mather, F1® Senior Creative Director at Codemasters. “Portimao is highly revered with a proud history, and our players will love the challenge of taking the 2022-designed cars onto the hallowed circuit for the first time.”
Portimao returned to the Formula 1® calendar for the 2020 and 2021 seasons as part of the revised F1® calendars. Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes dominated both years, taking victory, with then-teammate Valtteri Bottas claiming second and third place, respectively. The 4.684 km undulating circuit is famous for its sharp descent before a final right turn and full-throttle to the finish line.
F1® 22 available to purchase now on the Steam Store. Purchase the F1® 22 Champions Edition for bonus content.
