We heard you and we have been working hard to fix the issues you have with Fade to Silence, especially the crashes.
Hotfixes.
We today released a Hotfix 1 that should solve the map- and sled-related crashes.
Thanks to your crash logs and crash reports we were able to identify another possible crash cause. While this one will not be fixed in Hotfix 1, there is another hotfix in the works which will be released soon. For this fix, we will need your assistance since it’s not easy to replicate or even test the fix. We will publish another statement with more information on this soon.
Connection Issues
We also have a possible solution for the connection errors that some of you experience when they want to start a Co-op session. The reason for these issues is most likely resulting from router configurations and/or antivirus or firewall settings on the individual computers.
The solution to the connection issues is simple. You need to open the following ports on your PC or router to enable communication between Host and Guest computers.
61110 to 61119
30000 to 30009
It may be the case that your co-op partners have to do the same. On information on how to open ports on your machine, please check with the manufacturer handbook of your router, antivirus or firewall.

The day is here. It has finally come. Corruption is upon the world and we need you to get rid of it. These are our Release Patch Notes. We might have missed a thing or two. It's a lot of Notes.
NEW
THE STORY IS HERE! What happened in the world of Fade to Silence?
Dream Sequences and the Dream Gallery: You will learn more about the world and what happened when you let Ash rest at a fire. The dreams he is having will be gathered in the Dream Gallery, where you can re-watch them in chronological order.
We think you all have been getting a little bit too comfortable in Survival Mode with six lives. So we've cut it to THREE initial lives. Yes. Really.
On the bright side, we have added Flames of Hope you can find scattered around in the world that will give you an extra life when picked up.
We have completely reworked the tutorial of Fade to Silence to give you a better introduction to the world.
Missed a hint? Not sure how that one thing you did an hour ago worked again? The Survival Book gathers all information you find out while you play and lets you re-read everything on the go.

Tiny Patch Information
Hello Survivors!
We're almost there! We hope you are as excited as we are for the full launch of Fade to Silence on April 30th when you finally get to experience the whole story of Ash!
In preparation for the launch, we just pushed a tiny update to Steam.
In case you have previously fiddled around with your game files (yes, you, I'm looking at you!), you may encounter an issue that prevents you from starting the game. In that case, take these steps to resolve the situation:
Go to your Library of Installed Games
Right-Click on Fade to Silence
Click Properties at the bottom of the pop-up
Navigate to the "Local Files" tab in the Properties Window
Click on "Verify Integrity Of Game Files"
You should now be able to start the game up as usual. If this does not resolve the issue, you will have to re-install Fade to Silence.
You might also notice that some hidden achievements have appeared in the wild! Prepare to be able to unlock these when the final release hits!

On the 30th of April, Fade To Silence will emerge from Early Access and at the same time also be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The suggested retail price will be $39,99/39,99€ on PC. Console editions will be at $49,99 / 49,99€.
New Content and Features in the Release Version
Experience the final story line, telling the history of Ash, his daughter Alice and the apocalypse that befell the world. Players will find out how it all came to pass, who is responsible for the eternal winter, and what role the entity, known as Inner Voice, holds in all of this.
The story will be told in dream sequences. Whenever Ash is resting there is a chance for him to experience mysterious dream snippets in which the story unfolds.
We have completely overhauled the tutorial phase in the beginning of the game. Fade To Silence is a complex game that needs explanation, especially for first-time players. So the reworked tutorials offer players a streamlined pacing, and safer learning spaces where they can learn the mechanics of the game.
In the new survival book, you can look-up game and survival mechanics. This is a new feature that helps you to better familiarize yourselves with the game. As new mechanics are introduced, an entry will be added to the survival book which you can look-up at any time in the game.
Access the dream gallery to watch the unlocked dream sequences in chronological order. The dream sequences are broken down cut-scenes and appear in a random order. To enable you to revisit your dreams, and experience them in chronological order, each unlocked dream sequence is displayed in a dedicated gallery.
Enjoy new and reworked “quality of life” features. Our designers reworked the UI and HUD to improve accessibility and clarity, improved the game economy and overall balancing. In addition, the combat system will be fairer and more responsive.
We will use the time until release to continue to polish the game, work on performance, and fix bugs. Watch out for a full change-log on release.

Possible that the Guest can be stuck if you leave/cancel the campfire in rare cases or a monster is triggering the “abort” state.
Black screen after the resurrection sequence if the in-game menu was open during the Host was triggering the resurrection (both players are dead)
Possible that game break if you minimize the game during teleport or loading screen (mainly AMD graphic cards)
After sled crashed, it’s possible that the Guest character orientation is wrong. Workaround: Host has to mount/unmount the sled again.
Possible that some objects not correct replicated on Guest side like destroyed buildings and such
Possible that in dialogues the follower/NPC still have the weapon/item in the hand on Guest
Some enemies still have broken behaviour during movement/attacking on Guest
Various other small glitches during using the sled on Guest
Possible that the HUD can be visible during dialogues on Guest
Broken follower behaviour during banishment cutscene on Guest
Crashes
In rare cases, the game can crash after you cleansed the crystal in new game tutorial
In rare cases, it’s possible that the game can still crash during running around in the world or use teleport and such.
World
An object dropped by the Eclipse can fall through the ground
The guardian from the Shuttle’s Outpost can be incorrectly positioned behind the corruption barriers (Workaround: Leave the wider area and go back so that it will be reloaded)
Possible that an enemy can be stuck inside the ground if you start a recruitment event
The container doors from the Shipland outpost are doubled blocking the enemies or the character to go in/outside
Followers can show a broken behaviour if you assign them to an expedition or similar while they are busy with special animations like a sweep.
Performance
Possible to have performance issues if you tab out of the game (e.g. windows key) on AMD graphic cards.

A tiny message about the current bugs/balancing reports we are seeing.
Hey everyone!
So we have seen a lot of reports lately about certain bugs that were fixed quite a long time ago.
We are not usually asking people to start fresh games and then use that to report bugs.
So here are a few things we would like to help you guys with.
First due to the fact we know some of you have put 60-90 hours into your current save game, do back it up.
You can find the save file - Location: C:\Users\[User_ID]\AppData\Local\WhiteSilence\Saved\SaveGames\ -> autosave.sav
and place it somewhere safe on your desktop or somewhere else where you won't accidentally delete it.
Now the reason to why we are asking people to start COMPLETELY over is simple, we are getting reports both on forums and via the crash reporter about issues that are solved in former patches and that doesn´t exist in the newest build, we are aware this is a lot to ask and it is, therefore, we are giving you guys the choice to be able to back up your save game fully before doing so.
We would like to point out that when you play an older save game there sometimes are issues that we fixed already that doesn´t carry into older games and it can and have created issues for others.
So now what to do after you backed up your save game?
Well, you make sure your drivers are fully up to date and then verify your steam files.
Now after you have done that boot up the game and start a new game and play it as intended.
Now about the balancing issues some people have reported, I wanted to give you guys a few hints that I use myself and never had issues with the balancing of resources.
For wood, I will strongly recommend go with 1 hut pr follower and try to upgrade them asap as that helps a LOT on the wood issue.
The food issue is tricky and takes some management but as soon as you get a butchers hut up and running it helps a lot.
Don´t expand too much to fast!
