FEAR is upon you and bears the gift of more content.
New Region: The Pit is dominated by deep canyons and POIs to explore. Central point is a refinery which is located in the middle of the map, as well as some minor POIs hidden in the canyon. It also features new gathering areas you can make use of. But being the farthest region from your refuge, you need to equip the best gear you can muster.
New Followers: Gani and Ezra join the fold. Ezra, called "The Alchemist" managed to survive for a very long time, despite the harsh conditions. That is partly thanks to his widespread knowledge of every plant and herb that can still be found in the icy cold.
Gani, the Huntress, is determined to reverse the Eclipse’s devastating effects on the planet. Ready to take on any task, Gani expects the same of everyone else. Likewise, Gani won’t hesitate to call out faults in camp leadership when she sees them.
You can find her in the world and defy her challenge to recruit her into your camp. Ezra, however, will approach your refuge on his behalf if certain conditions are met.
New threats: Our Tech-Artists and VFX Artists did a tremendous job to introduce a new threat into the game. The snow tornado roams the canyons of The Pit and forces you to be extremely careful when you explore the new area.
New Refuge Upkeep: We implemented a new upkeep system for the refuge. From now on, your followers in the camp are affected by the amount of firewood and food you have stored in the refuge. They also start to use resources that are stored in the refuge stash. The amount of resources being used depends on the number of followers, the constructed buildings, and if a follower is in the camp. Followers on expeditions do not use resources in the camp. Followers on gathering runs (e.g., hunting) are considered "in the camp". Now you have to ensure you have a steady supply of food and wood, so make sure to put your followers to work.

In rare cases the Impaler Guardian from the NW Outpost may be invisible.
The game may become unresponsive if “ALT+TAB” combination is pressed during the loading screen.
In some cases the Gani recruitment event will break if you enter the shelter before she does.
Workaround: Leave the event area and restart the event. Make sure you enter the shelter AFTER Gani.
Dependent on snow height the tools in the Gani recruitment event are not visible because they are buried in the snow. They still get highlighted if you place the cursor above them.

You can restart the game after you've saved & closed the Options menu, and as mentioned, you can use the Main Menu with the Gamepad or keyboard & mouse as long as you know where to click.
Up with the gamepad is Continue, Left with the gamepad is New Game :)

With this patch, we fulfill the promise we made in the wake of the Unity update. In the last couple of weeks, the team focussed on addressing the various issues that arose with the last update. It fixes several crash bugs you reported as well as some other bugs that affected gameplay or visuals.
The sheer amount of fixes wouldn't have been possible without the support and feedback from you, our community. We cannot tell you enough how much we appreciate this. Thank you!
Another priority was, as always the performance of the game. We made some improvements that should result in an overall performance increase for most players, fewer FPS drops and smoother gameplay.
While we have thoroughly tested all fixes, there might still be certain cases where players will experience some issues. Should you be affected, please let us know either here in the comments, or in the Steam forum.

An episode of how Adrian and Andreas is doing at GDC 2018 and how we use that to improve our own games and company.
As Adrian mentioned in last week's "BFG Unlocked", the team has put a lot of effort into fixing the most pressing gameplay bugs. Understanding what is "most pressing" is half the work, and as we've been also working for performance fixes, we decided to separate our efforts into a two-forked approach:
In raw numbers, the team managed to eliminate 146 bugs. Today's hotfix focuses on the bugs below as well as a large bunch of minor improvements that are too numerous to count. The list below was considered to be the safest to publish in this hotfix - as systemic fixes into performance or crashes require more testing to be deemed safe right now. But do not fret, stay tuned, we are planning to go forward with performance optimizations and more fixes as soon as we feel confident they improve the experience properly without creating more issues.
Bug Fixes
FIXED: Guardians were easy kills with the cleansing wave from outposts & totems. This was an unintended side-effect that made outposts less challenging, and has been fixed.
FIXED: Ambush monsters "ignore" spawn animation.
FIXED: Hero could not be teleported back to a respawn point if he died while riding the sled.
FIXED: Totem can be cleansed multiple times in a row.
FIXED: In some rare instances teleportation would teleport the player into nothingness
FIXED: Saving the game while riding the sled is now active again, enabling players to quit the game while sledding.
FIXED: Falling damage could kill the hero if hero initiates a teleport while jumping.
FIXED: Corrupted ground not disarmed after cleansing a totem.
FIXED: Crafting - Follower will not continue the crafting after they did a break.
FIXED: Broken face problem on LOW art quality settings.
FIXED: Inner Vision highlights were not properly calculated and displayed.

First: Since the last update we integrated the latest version 4.18.3 of the Unreal Engine 4. (Details: https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Support/Builds/ReleaseNotes/4_18/). The decision was made to take advantage of some new and updated features from which Fade To Silence will profit. The engine update also fixed some bugs that caused some serious issues for us. The downside is that it also caused some new issues. While we identified most of the bugs so far and fixed them already, there may be still some left, potentially also issues with elements that worked before. If you encounter bugs, please continue to report them to us.
So Unity has finally arrived. Ash will be united with his daughter Alice. Ryme, a new follower, will arrive at the refuge’s gates if your community is big enough.
There is also a new explorable region called The Wreck, which features the massive container ship that was visible from your starting camp.
Alice, Ash’s daughter, will be in the camp right from the start. She is one of Ash’s main motivations to survive the Apocalypse. He wants to keep her safe and alive. While she won’t have an active role in the game now, she will make her presence known. We strongly recommend starting a new game to see the new, more extended introduction which now includes Alice.
Ryme on the other side will be the fourth follower you can select to contribute to your refuge.
The Wreck – our internal name for it was “Shipland” – opens up for the general public. It represents a once trendy recreational area – before the Apocalypse. It’s not as big as the Prairie, from which you will enter the Wreck. But it spurs some nasty surprises and makes you tread carefully. There is a lot to do there. Including a shortcut back to the camp – if you dare to cleanse the tunnels.
We improved the inventory to be more convenient to use and more consistent in its functions. Equipped items will now move to your character. It will no longer use up space in your inventory. With this comes a reduction of your backpack space to the initially intended amount. While this means reduced space at the start of the game, we tweaked the additional slots that you receive when you equip the pouch, for example.
As always we are working intensively on the games’ performance. We did manage to identify some features and functions that were causing a huge drain on performance, and we’ll continue to work on fixing them as we isolate these issues.
Interface - The items from the Inventory are incorrectly displayed after spamming the equip/unequip button.
Interface - A corrupted outpost is displayed on the map as being cleansed.

Known Issues
Totem status (active/cleansed) might have wrong status on map.
Corruption zone around Totem might still be active (including blocking the sled) even after cleansing.
Fog of war on the map currently has visual artefacts depending on camera position.
Event log temporarily deactivated.
The 'lock-on' HUD sometimes does not go away when a monster is killed.
Workaround: unequip weapon (e.g. hold ) to release the lock.
In certain cases teleportation prompts in outposts don’t work.
Localization: Non-English languages are still missing translations for dialogues.
Localization: Gender sensitive languages are still missing the proper forms. For now, it is recommended to play in English.
Region names, player feedback about follower activities, some mission names, some reworked
Interactables, and new or reworked menu items have not been localized, will show up in English.
In rare cases and certain hardware types game crashes while exploring the third outposts map area.
Corrupted area may still be present in a specific location in the Flats.
In rare cases the Crusher can remain stuck in a specific location.
The game becomes unresponsive if “ALT+TAB” combination is pressed during the loading screen.
Fire barrels and Campfires in buildings don't have the correct camera when you interact with them.
The Spitter becomes unresponsive after getting hit by an arrow from a long range.
