Fallen Tear: The Ascension

March Week 1 Developer Update: Animation

3 months into 2023 and we got a bunch of animation updates for you!!
Anyone a fan of Avatar the Last Airbender? These animations may be a treat for you ːsteamhappyː

Early in January, we worked on our punch animations! This time we paired it up with 4 different elements, namely, fire, water, air, earth. Our team tried to give distinct personalities to each element so it expresses different feels to impacts.

Into February, just like our elemental punches, we also finalized our meteor stomp animations! You can see them in action down below! Hira sure knows how to pack a punch!!

Let us know how you feel about them! ːsteamhappyː

You can also join us on Discord if you'd to talk to us and give real time feedback or follow us on other socials for more visual content.

NEW OFFICIAL 2022 TRAILER, STEAM PAGE AND WEBSITE UPDATES

Hello, Wanderers!

It’s been a weird couple of months...

We were both very aware of the time, but also very surprised to find ourselves done with the whole half of 2022!

Here’s what we’ve been up to:

We’ve got a new trailer! Our previous trailers were for our first demo, a game concept that didn’t quite reflect what we wanted in the game.

Steam page updates! If you’re curious about the new elements you’ll find in our trailer, you will find more answers on our Steam page, with tons of our new game features. Side note: have you wishlisted us yet?

Website updates! We've been posting about our Bonds a lot on Facebook and Twitter. #BondDayMonday anyone? If you've missed any of them or are curious about how they can help you progress better and faster in our game, we've updated our website with full character descriptions and more!

Our biggest surprise… Our game will be fully voiced!

If you follow us on any of our socials, you might have seen us upload some photos of our voice actors a few months ago. But we never specified anything… Well, now we are. A fully-voiced cast of characters, creatures, and bosses! We’re super excited about this feature as it was one of those things we really wanted but weren’t quite sure if we could ever get it done.

We have tons more in store for the second half of the year so please follow our socials, stay tuned, and wishlist us on Steam!

Our 2021 in Review

Hey, Wanderer!

What a year, eh? We just want to cap off the last few December days by saying, we hope you had a good year. Here’s how ours went!

We…

- launched our Steam page

- opened the official Fallen Tear Discord Server

- released a playable concept demo

- started and restarted our newsletter

- reached 3,000 followers on Twitter

and last but not least…

We won the Audience Choice Award at the Level up KL Sea Game Awards!

It was very surprising for us to even be nominated and even more surprising that we won. Again, if you follow our socials and also voted for us, a huge thank you for helping us win! It’s been a very busy year full of ups and downs for us; and we’re excited to see what 2022 will bring.

FOR THE LAST LEG OF 2021

The last and biggest news for 2021 is us removing our playable concept demo from Steam. This will happen on December 31, so this is basically your last month to play it!

The game development has changed a lot since the demo and it's no longer accurate to the gameplay/experience we were aiming for. Expect exciting stuff next year and wait for our next announcements; plus an update to the Steam page.

Once everything's ready, you will be the first to know!

Where We've Been, Where We're Going, and the KL Awards

Hello, Wanderer!

So, we disappeared for a while and, first off, we want to thank you for your support! We honestly don’t know where the year went. We put our heads down to start working, looked up, and people are doing Christmas countdowns!

And here’s why:

1. We got hyperfocused on our art. There’s absolutely no sugar coating it. We’re artists and have been working so hard to create and improve the characters, environments, and animations for Fallen Tear: The Ascension that we just looked up one day and found ourselves halfway into 2021 with just three emails sent.
2. We were still consulting marketing experts. We know our way around games. Not so much with marketing them.
3. We’ve been doing our own writing. And, let me tell you, as visual people, it’s been painful.

Luckily, we DID manage to wrangle a team to help us write and organize our efforts to stay in touch with you guys because we really wouldn’t be where we are without your support. Thank you so much for continuing to engage with us on Discord and other social media platforms. We have so much more to share! So we will get better at this. Starting now!

Did you know that we restarted our newsletter? If you’ve signed up for it, you probably know and have actually read the part above in an email a few weeks ago. If you still haven’t, please head over to fallentearascension.com and you will get dibs on all the updates and exclusives we have for the game. Every month, you will learn more about the characters, the story, and how our production is going.

And speaking of, the whole team is in full production mode creating new game levels, enemies, and new abilities! Though we are nowhere near finished, it IS starting to take shape already, which is why we will be pulling our concept demo from Steam by December this year. That demo isn’t actually an accurate depiction of our goals, and definitely not of our progress.

Here is our roadmap for next year...

Trailer for 2022

For the rest of 2021 till next year, we will be working on a full-on trailer with all the fixins and more game features. Compared to the cinematic concept demo, which was initially just going to be a teaser, this trailer will show what makes our game new and badass. There will be more gameplay, less of the story, and more cinematics.

Kickstarter in 2022

We also intend to run a Kickstarter in 2022. This would be an opportunity to fund even more features that, right now, are looking like a pipe dream working on our own. Supporters will also get merch! We did a similar thing with our loyal and active Discord community members earlier this year, and we sent them some Fallen Tear: The Ascension shirts.

Game Release 2023

Game release is scheduled for 2023 and we are incredibly determined to meet our goal. This is, after all, our love letter to the gaming community that has shaped who we have become now. However, it would all depend on how 2022 and our Kickstarter goes. So sign up for our newsletter and join us on Discord to stay updated and let us know what you want to see in our game!

SEA Games Awards

Before we sign off, we’re super excited to share that we are part of the Level Up KL’s 4th SEA Games Awards! Could you visit the link and give us a little vote if you could spare a couple of seconds and three clicks? The deadline is October 15, so vote now and tell your friends!
