Updates and Fixes #19: Video and Game Options, Transport Conduit to Machine and Coal Power Plant, Hydraulic High Speed Press.





The main objective of this update is to disable the popup tutorial windows in the game options. Also I added in the update more video options so the game is more configurable.

Finally I added the Coal Power plant, so the player could use coal to get power, and the Hydraulic High Speed Press and Hydraulic High Speed Gear Press in order to decrease time production of plates and gears.

I added a new machine called Transport Conduit to Object. This new machines introduces mineral or objects directly to a machine or a chest. This machines is useful to decrease the number of minerals at the same time in the conveyor belts and also the number of robotic arms.





I'm also finishing the Space Port/Landing Zone and the SpaceShip, so I hope to have those machines very soon.

Updates and Fixes #18: Train.





In this updates and fixes I would like to talk about the Train.



The idea of the train is to give to the player a better tool to transport products or minerals from far distances to the core of the base. In the past could not be useful because far of the center of the map, there is nothing. However I added a second layer of mineral veins in a far distance of the center of the map.

The mineral veins of the center of the map have a quantity of mineral around 1500 units, more or less, the veins on the edge of the map have around 5 or 10 times the normal quantity. It looks great, so it is interesting to extract in the far places, however there isn't water spots far of the center of the map, so it is not viable to build a base at the beginning of the game far of the center, because the player couldn't survive without water.

So the idea is to start with a base in the center of the map, and when the player has all the machines to survive, search for a good mineral vein in a far distance from the base, build a little outpost and connect it with a train to the core base in order to transport minerals or products.

The use of the train is easy. The player only has to build the locomotive, and place it over a rail. behind the locomotive place some train wagon. The direction of the train is based of the direction of the rail. The player can select the train locomotive and press use key to configure the speed level of the train and the time in seconds that the train will stop in each station.

I added also a robotic arm for the train. It will work only if it has a stopped train behind. So when there is a stopped train, the robotic arm could pick some products from machines or storage and put them inside the train wagon. All the others robotic arms can pick objects from the train wagon.

What Next:



I'm working on the SpaceShip and the SpacePort/Landing Zone. I made a SpaceShip chassis with all the necessary machines inside and outside, so the player has only to deploy the spaceship and connect the different parts with the wires and pipes.

When the player deploys the SpaceShip for the first time, It will search for an empty spaceport to deploy, the same for the SpaceShip Core.

I hope to finish it as soon as possible and show it and explain how it works.

New Engine PREVIEW

Finally the Game in the new Unreal 4 Engine is here



After three months of insane work, I finally moved the game to the new Unreal 4 Engine.

First of all, I apologize about three months of lack of information, but I wasn't really sure if I would port all the game in a short amount of time, so I preferred to have the game port in a near end status in order to make the first announcement.

First reason to move the game to the new Engine is because with the new Windows 8 and 10, I wasn't really sure if the old game engine could work properly on those OS. So If any player test the new game version in a windows 8 or 10 and works well please post it.

The other important reason is the use of 64 bits, right now the game should work more smooth than the old 32 bits version.

The third reason is because all the reflection effects and metal materials are really awesome, and everything in the game is made of metal so when the day is in the sunset all the orange color is reflected in the objects and the vibe is amazing. Try the Ice planet, the reflects on the terrain are really great.

Of course there are more reasons, but for me, I started to move the game to the new Engine because of the last three reasons.

New Gameplay



I totally change the gameplay of the game, I mean, I got rid of the mouse in the gameplay, right now when I play the game I feel really free, and for me is really easier to build and move with the current building system, and with the new highlight is really easy to know which block are you selecting. Please try it and tell me what do you think about the new gameplay.

Not finished yet



The new version of the game don't have yet all the old features, like jetpack or the research tree or certain blocks light the beacon. I'm still working on it, and I hope to finish all of them as soon as possible. So it is very possible to find crash bugs or lack of machines.

Updates and Fixes #17

Laser Drill, Singularity Gate, New Conduits and New Machines Update



This update add a lot of new machines and products to the game. Also it add the Singularity Gate, The Laser Drill and more conduits like the Splitter.

Singularity Gate



Singularity Gate, the last building machine that the players has to build in order to come back home and finish the game. The Singularity Gate still in progress but soon the player could complete it. The player first has to build it in the center of the galaxy near of the black hole. Is the unique possible place. Once the foundation is built, the player will have to add more resources to the Gate, so the Gate could add automatically more parts.



When the Gate is finished, the player could go to the center of the Gate and return home and finish the game. The last part still in progress.



Laser Drill





The Laser Drill and other first person objects. We have a 3d model for the laser and a PDA and we will have more objects. Now extract resources from the vein is easier, because the ore will go to the player, so the player only has to extract all the mineral that need to work.



New Factories



New Factories. A long list of new factories that the player will need for creating new products. The goal of the new products is the building of the Singularity Gate. The Gate needs some special products and the player has to add this products to advance in the next part of the Gate. It still improvement, however the main idea is developed and now it needs to be polished.





New Conduits



New Conduits. With the new conduits, the player could build factories in different levels of altitude. The idea is to compress the factories, because in the future the building area will be limited. With the splitter, the player could design easier the production lines.







Improved Solar System Map



The Solar system map has been upgraded. Now the player can see asteroid belts and also see different orbits.

Robotic Arm SMART and Transport Conduit Update



This update is related to the production, adding new elements like the Robotic Arm SMART and the Transport Conduit.

Robotic Arm SMART



The New Robotic Arm SMART is the best solution to optimize and increase the production of the base. The player can put different products in the same conveyor belt line and each Robotic Arm SMART will pick up only the product that has been chosen in the config.



Optimization is the new goal for the player, because the base has a limit of number of products at the same time, so the player has to keep a low number of materials over the conveyor belts. The first best option is using Transport Conduit, the second step is using chests to keep the materials and the third step is using Robotic Arms SMART in the same conveyor belts line.



The Setup of the Robotic Arm SMART is really easy, the player has only to select the Robotic Arm and press the Use key, A new info inside the inventory will appear and the player could configure the parameters, like the product that the robotic arm can pick up or the maximum angle of movement.



Transport Conduit





The Transport Conduit is the best solution to avoid the long lines of conveyor belts. it is faster and keep the number of products low.

The list of Updates and Fixes:




  • Added Transport Conduit. Now you can replace you long conveyor belt lines to a line of transport conduits. With this change the products will travel faster, safer and it will allow the player to have the number of products at the same time in a normal situation.
  • Added Robotic Arm SMART. In this configurable robotic arm, the player can choose which product will pick up the robotic arm and the maximum angle of rotation.
  • The Robotic Arms will not get products from machines or chest until the number of objects at the same time is less than 100.
  • Added High Speed Hydraulic Press. This new Hydraulic Press will increase your production of plates and gears.
  • Added Message: Asteroid hits object.
  • Added Message: Too many objects on conveyor belts.
  • Added Particle System to Asteroid, added new explosion particle system when the asteroid is destroyed.
  • Fixed Laboratory Screen of the Laboratory computer 3d model.

SpaceShip Fuel Update



This update is related to the spaceship, the fuel and the galaxy map.

Fuel Generator





A new machine has been added, the Fuel Generator, It generates fuel from coal, water and electricity. The player will need two of those machines in order to refill a fuel tank. Right now the spaceship needs fuel to travel and the oil is not in the initial planets so this machine is needed before the refinery.

It has been added new info to the spaceship. In the spaceship info you can see the total mass, total fuel, and the ratios power/mass of the warp engine. Now the player has to build the most efficient spaceship as possible because the spaceship has weight, needs fuel to go to others planets and the fuel needed to go to other planets depends on the total mass of the spaceship and the distance. Also the player needs to put engines to the Spaceship, each engine can carry an amount of mass. If the ratio power/mass is greater than 1, the spaceship will jump to the galaxy map. Each engine needs water and electricity, so it is important to carry some water tanks and some batteries if you want to come back to your homeworld.

  • Now the player needs to put engines to the Spaceship, each engine can carry an amount of mass. If the ratio power/mass is greater than 1, the spaceship will jump to the galaxy map.
  • Added info in the galaxy map GUI about the distance between planetas and the fuel needed to jump. The fuel needed depends on the mass of the spaceship, so a ratio fuel/mass is showed because this ratio is constant.
  • New machine and 3d model, Fuel Generator.
  • Now you can refill the spaceship with fuel. First you have to put some fuel tanks to the spaceship, then build a fuel plug pipe and plug it to your base fuel network. You will need time to fill the fuel tanks. The more mass you spaceship has the more fuel and engines needs in order to travel to other planet.
  • Added Oil Plug Pipe.
  • Updated Oxygen Plug Conduct 3d Model.

  • Fixed the problem of the spaceship falling a little each time the map is loaded.
  • Added SpaceShip info when the player selects a piece of the spaceship. In the info you can see the total mass, total fuel, and the ratios.
  • Improved the orientation when the player puts new pieces, added automatic rotation to new pieces. With this method is easier to build network wires or pipes.
  • Fixed problem with the mass center of the spaceship. Now the problem of the spaceship camera that sometime was far of the spaceship is solved.
  • Fixed issue of positioning a piece even if it is marked as red.
  • Removed the green colour when positioning new pieces, now is easier to see the rotation of the new piece without the green colour.

Chemical industrial Update





The beginning of the chemical industry is here. This update add to the game the core of all the chemical industry machines. The goal is gather oil in order to produce fuel and petrochemicals that will be used to create other products like plastic.

The Petrochemicals fluid is used to produce plastic in the plastic factory and other future components. Plastic will be the base product of some future machines in order to produce other valuables products.

Right now the fuel is used to generate power in the fuel power plant, however it will be used in the near future to fuel the spaceship. The idea is that the Spaceship will use fuel to travel to other planets and the amount of fuel will depend on the mass of the spaceship and the distance, so the player has to build more efficient spaceships or some gas stations in order to fuel the spaceship in long trips.

Some Updates and Fixes:


  • Added Current Planet in the galaxy map GUI. Now the player doesn't have to remember the name of the current planet.
  • Added Last Planets visited in the galaxy map GUI.
  • Added Marked Planet in the galaxy map GUI. Now the player can mark some planets as important planets. To do that the player needs to build a Planet Marker in the Planet.
  • Added new piece. Planet marker. This new piece marks the planet in the galaxy map. You can mark three planets at the same time. It will be improved in the future.
    The 3d model of the Planet Marker is not definitive.
  • NOTE: The players who are playing before this update. If they have a spaceship, they will need to go to the galaxy map and come back to the planet if they want to use the planet marker or other GUI properly.
  • Updated 3d model of the Steel factory.
  • Removed Teletransport when player reaches the edge of the map, now there is an invisible wall.
  • Fixed Asteroids bugs related to collision.
  • Asteroids not longer destroy chests.
  • A little improvement in the core of the spaceship, it avoids falling a long distance when loading. Now it falls a little, Still need more improvement.

Some Updates and Fixes:


  • Added Foundry: Now the player can drop ores over the foundry and melt in the core. The ingots will appear in the output. The player only have to put a conveyor belt in the output. This machine can be used with robotic arms too.
  • Fixed the issue of ores falling through the veins.
  • Changed Food Generator Model.
  • Added ingame messages, in order to guide the player during the first survival day in the game.
  • Added new material to the sun in the galactic map.
