Welcome back, ladies and lords! Thanks for stopping by and checking out our latest news!
There are a lot of things that will set Feudums apart from other games but the one we want to talk about today is how we plan to finance and maintain - monetize - the game.
I want to state right out of the gate that Feudums will be “Free to Play” (FTP). Now, before you lose your heads on that news, I would like to invite you to read a little further, ‘cause we plan to do it the right way.
Unlike most FTP games, Feudums also will be a "Free to Win” (or “Fair to Play”) game.
Our core promise to our players is that there won’t be anything in the game that you can buy for real money that would affect the game’s outcome. Winning or losing a game will be on you – not on your wallet. Victory is sweetest when you have worked hard for it. There is one downside though: you can’t blame us for losing your lands. If that’s not an issue, come and look behind the curtain!
We put all our cards on the table with this article: https://feudums.com/content/feudums-monetization-strategy
It’s about a 5-minute read and well worth it! The article lays out our promises to our players and how we plan to make our money. Spoiler alert: it still involves you!
Let us know what you think of our strategy in the comments below.

Putting out the Welcome Mat
Hi there, ladies and lords! Thank you for your interest in Feudums!
We have two gameplay-related milestones completed – one economics and one warfare related – which means the game is playable if you wish to take an early look at what we’re working on!
The economic milestone allows you to start your feudum, use the labor system to assign workers, build your cities, castles and local economy under the hazards of the seasons. The warfare milestone allows you to levy or train military units, form companies and send them off to raid or scout or battle your neighbor’s units. We consider it “lite” since there isn’t total destruction – think sieges and conquering opponents. Those fun things will come a little later down the developmental path.
Of course, if enough people vote for total destruction, we will probably do it earlier. What are we talking about? Well, we love to involve our growing community to help us decide how to proceed. You can take a quick poll at the website - direct link: https://feudums.com/content/next-feature-group-2 - to let us know which direction we should start moving towards next. There are lots of possibilities - make your opinion heard!
If you want to obtain a rough, pre-EA build, you can download it here: https://feudums.com/download, and kick the tires - you can also use your Steam credentials. Then please tell us what you think!
We are just a small, dedicated indie team that happen to be gamers too. We’re trying to create a game for gamers of all stripes – hardcore or casual – and we have a bunch of ideas on how to do that.
