Update Notes Sept. 8 - v1.008

Version 1.008 brings the following small adjustments and fixes:

  • The curator now has an unlimited stock of rare resources (purchase limit removed)
  • Recreants no longer drop bullion, but added some bullion to chests in the recreant area of the Deep Jungle
  • Increased item drop chances of most enemies (a few percentage points more than before)
  • Updated scenery in the Chamber of Will to provide a better hint to the solution
  • Fixed a bug with Bone Blade and Bone Ichor that prevented physical damage conversion when striking a fire-immune target
  • Swapping to and from backup equipment now one-hands your weapon

Update Notes for Jan 4 (v1007)

v1007 now available! This patch introduces a small number of tweaks and fixes to the game.


  • Increased the drop rate of certain rare materials from certain late game enemies
  • Created a new icon for Attribute Points
  • Duplicates of the Opal Heart can now be obtained via Anamnesis
  • Increased the Curator's maximum stock of rare resources (note that this will only affect new games and NG+)
  • Increased the Maximum Health of the Nagas
  • Fixed a rare bug that caused the conversation text rollout SFX to continue playing after conversation ends
  • Fixed a bug that caused the Terror Birds to sometimes play the wrong SFX when stunned
  • Fixed a bug that prevented enemies from respawning in Mother's Chamber during Anamnesis
  • Made a certain platforming puzzle in the Obsidian Lagoon easier to navigate

  • Slight modification to the starting tutorial area to better expose the location of the first key.

Release!

I am so very pleased and excited to announce the public Steam release of Fire in the Beastlands!

Like so many games, this development process has been long and arduous, but I am so grateful that it is finally done and available to the public! To everyone who helped me get to this point, THANK YOU, and to everyone who takes an interest in the game and hopefully even tries it, THANK YOU as well!

A brief word about a known issue:
Using ALT+Tab or ALT+SHIFT+Tab to and from the game window may occasionally result in the game believing that one of the modifier keys is still pressed ("stuck"). Simply press the key again to ensure its release.

Examples:
* If your character performs a parry/bash/invocation when they should have blocked, it likely means the ALT key is "stuck" and needs to be pressed again to release it.
* If your character performs a tumble when they should have only dodged, it likely means the SHIFT key is "stuck" and needs to be pressed again to release it.

Again, this only occurs when using ALT+Tab or ALT+SHIFT+Tab to cycle to and from the game window. This potentially affects both mouse+keyboard and gamepad controls.
