Client and Dedicated Server Update - December 12

Added:
- improved handgun throw (perk): keep throw key pressed (V) to charge throw power, then press mouse 1 or 2 to throw left / right handgun as before, or just let the power bar to reach max power to throw both guns simultaneously. Impact damage is proportional to throw force. Power meter and weapon 'charging' animation added
- weapon drop simplified: just press drop key (V) for single weapon drops. Dual wield still requires V + mouse 1 or 2 to drop left/right guns.
- easier weapon pickup/replacement: unloaded handguns are dropped automatically when a reloaded one of same type is picked up (player already owns 2 of that type).

Balanced:
- handgun throw: hit damage decreased (-30% aprox.), notoriety reward increased (+50% vs normal kill from a given gun)
- pump shotgun: slightly higher range

Changed:
- [Break Bad] Jailed players receive 3 seconds of invulnerability to prevent other players target them by mistake (the jail-chain-reaction effect)

Fixed:
- muzzle flash light causing bigger performance impact than it should
- thrown weapon colliding with thrower player sometimes

FoF Competitive League news



The FOFCL playoffs continue this weekend with upper bracket semfinals and lower bracket 1st round matches. Teams will be competing for their tournament lives on a league favourite map, tp_snowy. You can watch all the action live on our Twitch channel, or watch the VODs anytime on our Youtube channel.

FOFCL’s Season 3 will begin shortly after playoffs. If you’re an individual or a team of 5 you can join the FOFCL Steam Group for the latest on how to register for Season 3 and everything FOFCL!

Client and Dedicated Server Update - December 8

Added:
- Crosshair accuracy stats. This is a numerical value that displays the approximate accuracy for a given crosshair size. It can be turned off in Options/Multiplayer/Advanced (fof_ch_drawstats).

Changed:
- fof_winterlong: fixed framerate issues at certain spots, fixed non breakable railing models, improved navigation mesh, area around mirror redone
- Cvar muzzleflash_light set to 0 by default for non Windows platforms as it tends to kill framerate in OpenGL renderer

Balanced:
- Smith carbine +1 notoriety per kill (total 8)


FoFCL Playoffs



"Going into the post season team Y3*YO*Y3 went undefeated in the regular season and secured the 1st seed position.The challengers were 8th seed Sesame Street who were looking to prove themselves in their first playoff birth. This match took place on the Y3*YO*Y3 server on tp_eliminator and was casted on Twitch by the FOFCL staff."

- map fof_winterlong (Shootout/Break Bad). Design by R_Yell, some brushwork reused in this map was created by Leon Kilean (saloon) and Red Yager (warehouse in front of saloon)

- fof_fistful/fof_robertlee: minor fixes and optimizations

Fixed:
- Round timer not being reset properly in some Teamplay maps

About fof_winterlong:



A winter themed map featuring some new design ideas and quite a few surprises, including a super secret passage, a magical mirror and the mandatory choo choo train. This is the 3rd deathmatch based level added since release, and well, hope you have a blast playing it!

Fixed:
- fof_fistful crashing on systems where model detail was set below high level
- breakable railing models getting damage from shotgun/axe (only are meant to break from players colliding against them or explosions)

Changed:
- fof_robertlee: added breakable railings in bar area, new door with lock system in the small room at back area, new door at back side cabin, additional optimization, easter egg added somewhere...

Client and Dedicated Server Update - November 27

Howdy! Today's update introduces a new player-physic props interaction that should add extra fun and planning into kick related attacks. Please check it out and let me know what do you think!

Added:
- a kicked player damages physic props when colliding into them in mid-air. Player also receives some damage from the prop. A prop related kill also counts as frag for kicker
- player burps when trying to drink whiskey and their health is full
- cvar fof_secondary_toggle: toggle mode (on-off) instead keep pressed secondary attack for iron sights/fanning. Check it in Options/multiplayer/advanced
- usable items are hinted in HUD when player looks at them (doors, buttons, whiskey, weapon crates, etc). Note that some random props may generate unexpected outputs now ;)
- [Teamplay] cvar fof_sv_spawn_invul_time to control spawn invulnerability time

Changed:
- fof_fistful: railings break when a player is kicked into them. Added a new safe at bank, it may not work as expected. Also added a secret passage, its location is unknown. Improved cubemap reflections

Balanced:
- Player speed while using pump shotgun increased to handgun level
- Henry rifle damage over long distance slightly decreased


New map showcase



Here are some captures for a new shootout/break bad map called fof_winterlong. It's coming along nicely and should be added next week. Notice the amount of destructible railings :)

Added:
- Improved team selection. A team shows transparent in team selection panel if full. Panel doesn't reset if player can't join selected team.
- Updated Russian translation by Zero
- Updated Chinese translation by ReShine

Changed:
- fof_revenge: further optimizations that should increase performance / reduce bandwidth usage
- [Break Bad] Most wanted warning sound volume decreased, only plays for nearby enemies

Fixed:
- [Teamplay] Round not ending when time is over in tp_yosemite
- Bots not being able to use bow weapon
- Some player respawn issues

Client and Dedicated Server Update - November 10

Added:
- [Break Bad] Most Wanted objective: players who reach 5 kill streak get "most wanted" status. It allows higher cash rewards for each kill and the player who finish their streak also gets a special reward. A most wanted player can be tell by a red dollar sign at their feet.

Changed:
- coachgun damage over long range decreased up to -15% (damage dealt when target is 1000 units far). This change was introduced in previous update, but wasn't mentioned. So it's not a new damage decrease.
- [Ghost Town] Ghost speed +10%
- auto-start of slide based panel in Linux/OSX gets disabled since some players report issues when it opens

Fixed:
- [Teamplay] autobalanced player spawning in wrong place
- [Ghost Town] team scramble started incorrectly
- fists related exploit that allow higher hit rate
- Some notoriety log events may not get removed
- tp_eliminator/tp_snowy: round end score may not be correct sometimes (wrong winner)

Fixed:
- tp_yosemite: round doesn't end when all vigilantes die, second area doesn't start sometimes
- [Teamplay] Players can respawn while round has started upon joining server
- some general player spawn related issues

Changed:
- fof_depot: small navigation improvements, exploit fixed, some cover added
- fof_revenge: more spawn points added, initial blockvis optimization
- [Ghost Town] Human controlled ghosts get pushed by close ghostly gun shots

Balanced:
- [Ghost Town] Melee damage decreased 25% for human controlled ghosts
