Fleet Star V

Update 1.0.2 Now Available

IMPORTANT

There has been an issue with save files and error logs being created in the game's local directory. This is to do with permissions. If you want to continue playing your existing campaigns, please do the following:

Step 1
1) Go to %UserProfile%\Documents - this is a shortcut to your user documents (e.g. C:\Users\Eric\Documents)
2) Create a new folder called 'Fleet Star V'
3) In 'Fleet Star V', create a new folder called 'Saved Games'

Step 2:
1) Go to Steam, in your library right-click on 'Fleet Star V' and click 'Properties'
2) Under the 'LOCAL FILES' tab, click 'BROWSE LOCAL FILES...'
3) Open the 'Saved Games' folder. Copy your saved games over to the 'Saved Games' folder created in step 1.

Why is my campaign screen so large now?
This is a quick fix to resolve the issue with those with resolutions of 1440p and higher. In a future update, the base campaign will be resized to fit the new dimensions.

Updates

TLDR:

  • Resolutions of up to 4000
  • 2250 now supported.
  • Save files will be stored in user's documents directory.
  • Error logs will be stored in user's documents directory.

  • Campaign background can either be a single image or multiple textures. This is so the game can support all resolutions, though this is dependent on the texture size used in the campaign. Currently the default campaign size is 4000
  • 2250, though this can be increased or decreased, thanks to easy modding! I will provide more details on modding in the weeks to come.
  • Saved game files moved to user documents directory.
  • Error logs now created in user documents directory.

Issue With 1440p Resolutions and Higher. Hotfix Incoming!

Hi everyone! Users who play Fleet Star V with a resolution of 1440p or higher will encounter a 'flickering' screen when viewing the campaign map and campaign builder screens.

This is caused by the base campaign map being too small to fit the resolution. The game engine tries to reposition the camera to accomadate, thus the 'flickering' screen.

I'm working on a hotfix now and hope to get this out to you ASAP.

My apologies for the issue, and many thanks for your patience!
