We've discovered a few bugs over the past few days, so we've decided to fix them and update the game.
At the same time, we added one small improvement:
Previously, if you pressed the "i" button on the job suggestion screen, you could see additional information about the job. Now we have added information there about rewards and reputation penalties for different management mood levels.
If the management gives you the task of winning a cup in a few seasons or building something in a few seasons, and if you managed to promote to the next league in one of the seasons, the management mood will be improved by +20 for the fact of promotion.
In specific cases the game would crash on the substitutions screen. Fixed.
If you add a footballer to the Watchlist, and he is listed in the transfer list at the same moment, his cost was different in both lists. Fixed. Now the cost in the Watchlist will be the same as the cost in the transfer list.
If a sponsor offered to win a league, the name of the league was not used correctly on the income screen. Fixed.
Small bug fixes
Today and yesterday we made small updates to fix crashes in special situations.
Also after the last big update, there was a bug in the game where if you had little Reputation left, you couldn't join any club. Fixed.
Watchlist and other improvements of Manager's Journey
We continue to work on Manager's Journey.
In today's update, we are adding a feature that we have been asked for many times - Watchlist. But apart from that the update fixes bugs, changes the balance a bit and adds small but nice improvements.
New feature
Watchlist. Forget the pen and paper! You can now add up to 20 footballers to the watchlist. The size of the watchlist is not connected to the level of the coach. This feature is fully available from the start of the game.
Game optimization
Simulation of matches between other teams is accelerated by ~25-30%. The acceleration will not be very noticeable during the open transfer window, as transfers and AI of the clubs during transfers were not affected by the optimization.
Now, save files are loading faster.
We are still working on finding ways to speed up the simulation. But I would also like to remind you that you can reduce the number of countries simulated before starting a new campaign. This way you will speed up the simulation of the world considerably.
Mechanic improvements
The animations of the circles with numbers in the match during crosses have been slowed down. Now you will have more time to examine what numbers each footballer has rolled.
After the transfer window was closed, the top-10 transfers between continents have been added to the transfers report.
The country name has been added to the transfer report (for teams from your country the name is not shown).
Balance improvements
Previously, in almost every club, when manually searching, you could find footballers who cost less money and did not require Glory. Initially, this was a bug that we left because we thought it was interesting. But over time, we realized that this leads to the fact that many players sort out each club in the hope of finding such footballers. This is not how we intended the mechanic of "buying directly from other clubs" to work. We wanted a "direct purchase" to allow you to find suitable but expensive footballers. Therefore, we have fixed the bug where these cheap footballers could be found.
Slightly reduced penalties in some strictness settings for some mood levels.
The mood bonus for getting into the zone of "Satisfactory performance" has been increased by ~2 times.
The mood penalty for not completing the task has been reduced (I remind you that if the task is not completed, the management simply does not receive +50 mood, that is if the task is not completed, the mood is 50 points less than expected. This is not a penalty, you just lost 50 points you could otherwise earn. But there was also a relatively small penalty to the mood for not completing the task. This mood penalty was reduced by ~ 1.5-3 times in different cases).
The Reputation reward for the maximum mood has been reduced from 50% to 30%.
Completely redone the formation of the Reputation cost to join the club. It was a rather complicated system that took into account several factors, such as the complexity of the task, the ambition of the club, etc. As a result, sometimes this cost became unreasonably high (100% of the planned reward or even higher). Now, this cost will also depend on additional factors, and the calculations will be done differently. As a result, in most cases, the cost of joining a club will be in the range of ~30-60% of the planned reward.
Previously, the top clubs in the top countries had roughly equal Reputation requirements. Thus a player with the same Reputation level could be invited by, for example, a top Spanish club that failed in the continental tournaments last season, and a top Spanish club that won the European Cup. Now, the winner of the secondary continental cup will claim more Reputation than other top clubs, and the winner of the main continental cup will claim even more Reputation.
The lower leagues in weak countries generated clubs of approximately the same strength as those in strong countries. This led to the fact that in weak countries, First League clubs often moved to the Premier League and became champions there. We have redesigned the generation algorithm. Now the strength of the country will affect not only the Premier League but also the lower leagues. You will need to start a new campaign for this to have an effect.

Fixed bugs
On other continents, cards, injuries and fatigue were not updated correctly. Fixed.
Occasionally an AI-run club made a lot of money and started buying more footballers than it needed, which led to overcrowding. Fixed.
The counter of countries to which a scout could be sent did not work correctly. The counter was separate for each continent, although it had to be common for all continents. Fixed.
If you recovered the energy of a footballer in training, he could be injured. It was not intended that way. Fixed.
If you go to the temporary formation screen before the cup match, the cards earned in the league are displayed there. Now, the game shows the cards appropriate to the tournament you are playing in right now.
If you put a footballer from the second squad to the main squad on the temporary formation screen, statistics were not recorded for that footballer. Fixed.
When using Precision Shot on the diagonal, no energy was spent at all (or very little was spent). Fixed.
After the league matches, the statistics of the footballers were collected and then mistakenly deleted. Fixed (now, it doesn't get deleted).
In the statistics of the end of the season, if the club participated in the Club World Cup and the continental tournament, only CWC statistics were shown, although there was no interesting data to display. Continental tournament statistics are now shown.
The achievement 'Old Friends are Better than New' could be awarded on one very rare wrong occasion. Fixed.

Big Update of Manager's Journey
While we are trying to find ways to optimize the simulation of the game world, we decided to work in parallel on improving the mechanics of Manager's Journey. This update is pretty big as it adds very important balance changes, improves one important mechanic, and improves the usability of different parts of the game.
Gameplay Improvement
Earlier, when a coach got a new uneven level, a choice between Money and Glory was available. But if the contract came to an end, the player did not need either Money or Glory. We've added a third option - Reputation. Now you can choose between Money, Glory or Reputation.
Statistics
Previously, you could only view league statistics in the country you are playing in. Now you can see the statistics of any league available in the game, including countries on other continents. Full statistics are available, including top footballers, all match results of this season, league tables for all previous seasons played, etc.
Previously, we did not give the opportunity to view information about a club if this club is in the lower league of another country or on another continent, since the scouts cannot collect reliable and complete information about the team's footballers. Now, you can watch any club, but information about the footballers will not be available. This is useful for viewing the history of the club's development. Also, many players like to change the names, logos and kits of clubs during the game. Now, they have such an opportunity.
When you get a request to sell your footballer, we now give the opportunity to view information about any club from which the request came (previously, we showed information only about clubs from your country or Premier Leagues of other countries).
Quality of Life Improvements
Improved the president's mood scale. Now, you will see how much Reputation you earn or lose depending on the different management moods at the end of the season.
The screen for requesting money from the management has been improved. Now, if the mood of the management is higher than the maximum, we more correctly show information about how the mood will change after the money request.

Balance Changes
Reduced penalties for bad and very bad mood by 2 times. Also reduced the cost of renewing contracts with the current club.
The difference in strength between Strong, Medium and Weak continents has been slightly increased.
Previously, the AI extended contracts for footballers in such a way that when a player joined a club, most contracts ended at the beginning of the second season. AI now renews contracts more evenly.
Bugs
There was a bug in which, when requesting money from the management, one amount of money was shown, and another was given. Fixed.
When a player motivated the team before the second half, the substitutes were not motivated. Fixed.
In the statistics of income and expenses of the Glory, the Glory given for the new level of the coach was not displayed earlier. Fixed.
One of the articles on Footballpedia misused the names of the tournaments in the examples. Fixed.
The achievement 'Walk the Talk' was not working correctly. It was given even when the player failed the task in the club, but stayed and completed it the next time.

If the ability to reduce the likelihood of injury in training is available to you, then you had to click on the arrow to reduce this probability. It might have been very tedious to make many clicks. Now, a slider has been added to make it more convenient.
Now, on the Job screen in the panel of conversation with the management we show the current mood of the management (if you are able to affect the mood).
Bug fixes
When shooting a penalty, the footballer with the highest Accuracy is automatically selected. But in the match simulation mode, the footballers with the highest Control were selected. Fixed.

In case of an early failure of a long objective, the friendly management still rewarded the player. Fixed.
If you had the task 'Promote to the next league in N seasons', but you were relegated to a lower league, and the mood of the management was not minimal, then the management ignored the fact that the club was relegated. Improvements and bug fixes of Manager's Journey
Balance improvements
Earlier, the maximum duration of an injury on the individual training could be the same as in a match (up to 8 months if you do not have medics). Now, the maximum duration of an injury on individual training is always 7 days. I.e. now, on training, a footballer can be injured for 1 to 7 days.
Now, when requesting money from the management, the amount of money depends on the strictness. For Adequate, Strict and Very Strict management, nothing has changed. Loyal management gives less money. Friendly management gives you significantly less money. This is important because the ability "Asking for money" should provide a good advantage, but also carry great risks. And since playing with Friendly Management the player does not risk anything, then the payouts should be significantly lower.
Bug fixes
If the save file was more than 100MB, Steam Cloud did not accept this file and overwrite your save with the last one that was stored in the cloud (this led to the loss of progress). We have reworked the cloud communications system to work around this limitation.
Copy-paste function was broken on the screen for renaming tournaments. Fixed.
If you change the number of teams in the Premier League in the modification, and then start the game with a tutorial, the game crashed. Fixed.
The game crashed after passing a hot-seat tournament. Fixed.

Improving the modification support and bug fixes
Mod support
Previously, modifications that were made or updated in Manager's Journey were not supported in previous versions of the game.
We've begun work to ensure that players who create mods in MJ can make them available to all other players, regardless of version.
Now in the modification settings, there is a button that changes the backward compatibility of the mod. If "Maximum" backward compatibility is enabled, the mod will be available for all versions of the game. If "Manager's Journey" backward compatibility is enabled, the mod will only be available in the latest DLC.
If you used new content from Manager's Journey in the modification and then selected Maximum compatibility, this content will automatically be replaced with random ones.
We'll be keeping an eye on your forum posts and will continue to polish the backward compatibility feature so that as many players as possible can enjoy your mods.
So, for everyone who published the mods from MJ, you can open your mod settings and change the backward compatibility.
Other fixes
Improved the balance of the Loyal leadership (harder than friendly and easier than adequate). Now fines and contract renewal costs have been reduced by approximately 2 times. In the past few days, you may have noticed that the game has been updated. We fixed bugs and crashes that appeared in some cases. As most of the players were not affected by these problems, we did not write about them.
In the last update, we fixed some issues that could affect many players:
If you support an injured football when a gamepad is connected to the computer, the confirmation window did not close. (As a reminder, in the game properties in the Steam library, you can turn off the gamepad interface if you are not using it in the game).
The name of the cup in the sponsor's payments was displayed incorrectly in some places.
If you look at information about a club from another country, important tournaments won by this club were not displayed.
If the start year was '1' and job offer has been selected, the game crashed.
When creating a hot seat tournament, not all modifications were selectable.
Before the start of the new season, you could go to the tables and from there try to buy a footballer. This caused the game to crash.

I also remind you that if the simulation takes a long time, you can start a new campaign and remove those countries that you are not interested in in the country settings. But we are also working to speed up the simulation.

In the reviews, I read that the game is slow. Is that true?
As with any serious football management game, the more countries are simulated, the longer you have to wait between match days. Previously, in FTG, we fully simulated only one country. And now in Europe alone, 35 countries are fully simulated. Premier leagues on other continents are also simulated. We've greatly optimized the simulation process, but there are quite a lot of different processes going on in the game world that need to be calculated.
Therefore, before starting the campaign, you can disable countries that are not very interesting to you. You can either delete them altogether or leave them in the game, but do not expect the job offers to come from there. In the second case, only the Premier League will be simulated in these countries. You can also turn off the simulation of countries on other continents. As a result, the speed of the game can be quite high if you find the optimal number of simulated countries for yourself. I think that if you leave 10-15 countries, the game will simulate pretty quickly on most computers.
