NEW RELEASE! Meet Padrya + F2P upon Valve approval!

Greetings Everyone!

Thank you for your patience. I'm sure many of you were wondering if Devcon and I had been eaten by giant snog beasts, but NO...what is a giant snog beast? Well, that is a tale for another time.

What's more important is that we are proud to release our newest hero, Padrya!

You can feast your eyes on her here:

Fun facts about Padrya:

1) She's voiced by Tim Schafer's sister, the fabulous, lovely and artistic Ginny Wescott!
http://www.westcottdesign.com/index.html

2) She's our very first control based hero, with lots of interesting ways to confuse and deny opponents. She likely will need tuning so please give us lots of feedback!

3) As a joke, the artists started calling her skins by various salad names aaaaaaaaaaaand it kind of stuck, so you can earn her "Caesar" skin with shards.

Here are some other updates in this release:

  • Pending approval from Valve we will be FTP - As a thanks, we have reserved the Lunar Guardian Ki skin for anyone who purchased the game premium. This skin will no longer be in circulation on steam once we go Free to Play and will be reserved for our early access premium folks only.
  • Two New Auras - Beserker & Earth's Blessing.
  • New spell icons when mana globes fill.
  • New Premium skins.
  • DLC - please help support the team to keep making new content!
  • Screen size and resolution issues have been fixed.

Issues in progress:

<*>Blackscreen after purchases - if you experience a black screen, just go back and please send details to devcon@wickedfun.com.
<*>Freeze on victory screen - Occassionally when a player leaves quickly post victory, the game may freeze. This is our focus for this upcoming week.
<*>ghost text in black background when game is in Window mode.

3-6 Update - FREEZE/LOAD issues [hotfix on 3/7 fixed it!]

    Hello everyone!

We are working hard to resolve these mysterious freeze/crash issues going on in the system.

As a result, the patch we put out today has a higher incidence so we can track down and isolate the cause. We will be issuing a hotfix tomorrow to resolve these issues, so we ask for your patience.

    Updates:
**Please enjoy the new "Water" battle area we completed, The Oasis! This will be in the random arena rotation.
**You will notice a circle loading graphic if the game continues to load after the loading bar is filled so it won't look like a crash.

    Updates for next week:
    Jovial Tarkin Premium Skin
    Crash/Freeze Fixes
    Tutorial in between Screen

    Thanks again for your support!

    New Build Out 2/24/2016!

Hello everyone, thanks for being patient. We have a solid build out today for you to try out. Here are some of the goodies we have for you:

    1) Stability Fixes - Found and bug killed code that was causing some of our disconnects thanks to all the great community feedback!

    2) Economy Changes - We have adusted pricing on heroes, to make them more valuable. Don't worry! Purchases already made with shards shouldn't be retroactively effected.

    3) New Extended Tutorial! We have the voice talent of Chuck Kourouklis, Just press the "how to play" button on the play menu to start it. It's still a work in progress, but it will teach the advanced concepts of the game. Also, a sneak peak of our "clockwork Vaskos" skin that will be available for players soon.

    4) Fire Arena Background - New cool background that appears randomly with a heavy guitar solo...we wanted to give a nod to old school pvp games like Quake.

    5) Spark Update - Spark's Q effect to take away time from opponents have been halved (3 to 1.5 and 1 turn instead of 2)

We hope you enjoy and thanks for supporting us!

Trading Cards, Emotes and a Badge are Live!

    Greetings everyone,

Our trading cards have been approved! Play to collect 7 cards featuring our hero mastery splash art.

    Game on!

    Spark Backstory

Spark had not yet been born when the goblins’ great airship broke down and descended upon Acharos. They had been traveling from their nation to visit Gnomans Land, a bustling center of trade for many of the non-humans of Acharos. Goblins are an incredibly secretive race, and the humans don’t truly know from where they hail. One of the Airship’s steam engines died and the dirigible slowly lost altitude. The goblins landed in a place between The Praeceps and Sylvland. Without the necessary equipment to fix their Airship, the goblins decided to settle where they’d landed.

The goblins got to work quickly on their new home. They used Celerun for its hydraulic power and established mines along the side of the The Praeceps. It wasn’t long at all before the Gobelinus began to take shape as the group eked out a new home for themselves in Acharos. They had lived for 50 years without any contact with a single human. Everyone considered that route to the North blocked, but the goblins managed to tame the river and could travel up and down it with ease.

When humans first made contact with the goblins, they hoped the goblins would allow them passage up the river to the north, but the goblins declined. They would allow anyone safe passage, but for a price, and a rather exorbitant one at that. Thus began the uneasy tension between the humans and the goblins. There was no open animosity, but neither regarded the other species well. The goblins thought of the humans as miserly, and the humans felt the goblins were greedy, secretive. The two races tend to mistrust and keep their distance from one another.

Spark was among the first generation of goblins to be born in Acharos. Goblins tend to be small, but scrappy individuals who never give up what they want without fighting tooth and nail for it. They have a love for gems, and will do whatever they can think of to get them, be it trickery, bribery, or even deadly force. Spark was a bit different from his peers, though. He was extra small, and never liked to fight. But, Spark has always been an ingenious little goblin, and knew how to get what he wanted without fighting like all the others, through invention and trickery. Spark would devise crafty little weapons to incapacitate anyone who challenged him. In this way, Spark came to know his place in the world.

One day, Spark was surrounded by a gang of other young goblins, and he was no match for them. They took the gems he’d managed to gather and served him a hefty beating for all the times his contraptions had bested them. Spark dragged his broken body home, vowing the whole way that he’d never be overpowered again. He laid himself in bed, but while his body rested, his mind worked feverishly. The morning came, and Spark hadn’t slept. He quickly got to work drawing schematics and in two weeks had a working prototype.

Spark walked out onto the street and he rumbled and roared as he went. He saw the gang of goblins from before, and they saw him and laughed. They approached Spark, who swallowed nervously. But, he was confident in his invention. The little goblin towered above the other boys in a mechanical suit that was powered by a coal engine. The boys jumped on the machine to get at Spark, but he threw them off and beat them all bloody. He took their gems - what he’d had on him and much more. Spark would never be bullied again.

Over the years, Spark has continued to improve upon the rudimentary design he’d created in his youth. He was renowned around the goblins as being fiercely cunning, and powerful as any knight with his mechanical suit. He’s a twitchy little fellow - kinda paranoid, and backstabbing with a huge Napoleon complex - truly the epitome of goblin characters, and he’s respected for his unabashed goblin-ness by his fellows.

Spark leaves Gobelinus in order to amass more wealth and power, as he feels he’s tapped Gobelinus pretty dry, more or less. Argus will offer him great wealth and power, and all he has to do to get it is do what he does best - beat people up!
