Two new Team17 games to be announced next week!



With E3 approaching and Hell Let Loose releasing on the 6th of June, it’s fair to say that Team17 has a very busy week ahead! In fact, next week we’ll be unveiling not just one but TWO BRAND NEW GAME ANNOUNCEMENTS!

Team17 - 100th Game Celebration



With the release of PLANET ALPHA on 4th September 2018, Team17 will have released 100 games! Forged Battalion has left Early Access!

Forged Battalion has officially left Early Access and is now a fully launched game!
We want to say a huge thank you to you, our players, for all your time and feedback during the Early Access period. Your experiences helped us craft, balance and develop Forged Battalion during Early Access into what it is today.

At full launch, Forged Battalion contains:

  • 2-8 player (or AI!) unranked Online Multiplayer
  • 1 v 1 ranked Online Multiplayer.
  • AI skirmish battles – play against up to 7 AI players.

Forged Battalion is leaving Early Access on Tuesday, August 14th at 5pm BST!

The full release of Forged Battalion will see the addition of five new campaign missions, as you seek to bring the war against The Collective to a climatic end.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to you, our players, for all your support and feedback throughout the Early Access period. Your comments constructive criticism have helped us shape and develop Forged Battalion throughout Early Access.

Five New Maps - Live Now!



Hello Commanders,

Today we’re excited to add five new multiplayer maps to Forged Battalion’s Ranked, Unranked and AI Skirmish modes:

When designing the above content, we took onboard your feedback, sculpting the landscape based on what you’ve told us.

The aim of these new maps is to change the pace of battle and open new tactical options and situations that you may not have experienced on the existing maps.

Introducing the Saturday Showdown - New tournament for players of all skill levels!



Calling all new, experienced and veteran players,

Today we are excited to announce a new tournament format that will alternate with our existing Commander Clash 1v1 Tournament, the Saturday Showdown!

This new format is designed to be a more relaxed PvP environment, open to all players, whether you’re brand new to the game, normally only play vs AI, new to PvP or a veteran PvPer.

We want the Saturday Showdown to be a bridge into PvP, for new and experienced players alike.

Below are the details of the Saturday Showdown tournament:

Date & Time: Saturday 7th April at 7pm BST
Tournament Structure: 1v1, BO1 knockout
Prize: 1 x Forged Battalion game code

For those new to the Forged Battalion tournament scene, both Challonge and the Forged Battalion Discord room are great places to talk to the Forged Battalion Community Manager, Jonno, as well as your fellow tournament participants. You can have questions answered, engage in some friendly banter and pick up some tips!

What if I’m knocked out in round one/two?



A new addition that the Saturday Showdown is bringing to our tournaments are knockout games. If you’re knocked out of the tournament before it finishes and you’d like to play some more matches, our Community Manager will be hosting some friendly PvP and comp stomp matches so players can continuing getting stuck into the battlefield, despite exiting the tournament.

Below are the formal rules for the tournament, these can also be found on the Challonge tournament page. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Saturday Showdown – The Rules



Rule One – Technology and Units



All currently available technology and mods are allowed for use in the tournament. All players are welcome to play in the competition, irrespective of tech level or faction build.

Rule Two – Results Reporting



At the conclusion of a match both players should take responsibility for ensuring the correct results are logged on Challonge.

As proof of result both players involved in a match should take a screenshot at the conclusion of the match where the end result can be seen. This will help should any disputes arise.

Rule Three – No Shows



The tournament will begin at 19:00pm BST on Saturday 7th April. Players should aim to arrive no later than ten minutes before their first match is due to start.

There is a grace period of ten minutes following 19:00pm GMT (tournament start) in which late participants can still enter the competition. After 19:10pm BST participants that have not arrived for their first match will be disqualified from the tournament.

Following the first round of matches, successful players should add their next opponent on Steam and co-ordinate the next match to be played immediately.

Rule Four - Player Disconnections



Please ensure your connection is stable before your match begins. Due to the nature of RTS games and the importance of the early game, there is no disconnection grace period. If a player loses connection to the game at any point during a match, then they will forfeit the match. This rule can be overturned if the player that remains connected is happy to rematch.

Game Rules



Forged Battalion operates dedicated servers for multiplayer, as such no host advantage can be gained. Due to this both players can create a match lobby.

In the case of a disagreement on who will host the player on the top of the match bracket will default to match host.

Lobby settings



Both players should take responsibility for ensuring the following lobby settings are in place prior to the match starting:

Map: Gridlock
Mode: Standard
Victory Condition: BO1


If it is discovered that the game has started with the wrong settings the match should be restarted immediately.

Complaints raised for incorrect match settings are invalid after the first thirty seconds of the match.

Forged Battalion Patch 4 - Bug Fixes, Balancing and Pathfinding!

Hey Community,

Headquarters has deployed the fourth patch based on your feedback.

This patch focuses on campaign improvements, creating better balance and a better pathfinding for multiple units.

BUGS & GENERAL CHANGES



  • All Campaign missions: Cinematic triggered by a "Base Lost" will now play at the last victory structure killed.
  • Campaign Act 1: Objective marker no longer appears on the minimap when the AI rebuilds their base.
  • Campaign Mission 5 balancing changes:


    • Enemy allies no longer rebuild their HQ.
    • AI starts 90 seconds after the match begins.
    • AI are only able to build 2 of each Factory type.


  • Campaign Mission 6: Additional audio barks added.
  • Campaign Mission 7: Starting infantry renamed from “Light MG Infantry” to “Flame Infantry”.
  • Campaign Mission 7: Chemical store barrels no longer release gas after being destroyed with a Fuel-Air Bomb superweapon.
  • Campaign Mission 7: Chemical explosions no longer occur after destroying a Chemical Store barrel with a single flame unit.
  • Campaign Mission 9: Additional audio barks added.
  • Rail Town Map: Infantry equipped with Proton Bazooka, Plasma Bolt Rifle and Sonic Pulse Guns now pathfind correctly when firing down from steep cliffs.
  • Available upgrades tab now updates after tabbing off and back onto the Faction Creator’s Customize tab.
  • The Faction Creator’s Customize tab now defaults to “New Unit” after deleting a unit.
  • Opponent base colours on the minimap are now consistent between campaign levels .
  • Caustic Grenade, Turret Gas Dispenser and the Gas Bomb Rack have had their base damage stats updated to reflect recent balancing changes.
  • Creating production waypoints after loading a save game no longer creates a line from each production structure.
  • Hover chassis and jumpjet tech values have been reduced. This will mean some custom units using these attachments may be reduced in build level.

Welcome to the fourth official 1v1 tournament for Forged Battalion!

This tournament will challenge you to 1v1 combat, as you fight for ultimate glory, bragging rights on the battlefield and a £20 Steam Wallet Code!

Players MUST check-in to the tournament on Saturday 24th March prior to 18:00 GMT. Check-in opens at 17:30 GMT on the day. Please make sure you check-in between 17:30pm GMT and 18:00 GMT. This must occur in addition to signing up, otherwise you will not be able to compete.

Please remember that brackets are not final until check-in has closed.

Prize: 1 x £20 Steam Wallet Code
