[p]Greetings, cultists![/p][p][/p][p]As Steam Summer Sale starts, we're here to bring you a peek into some interesting statistics! We peered into the abyss... and the abyss peered right back – this time with a spreadsheet.[/p][p][/p][p]Yes, we’ve been crunching some eldritch numbers, comparing how our fearless Steam cultists perform against the PlayStation faithful, achievement-wise. Are mouse-and-keyboard warriors more resilient to Madness, or are console prophets more blessed by the Ancient Ones?[/p][p]Well, here’s what the dark data says:[/p][p][/p]
Steam Dominates the Madness

[th][p]Achievement[/p][/th][th][p]% Steam[/p][/th][th][p]% Playstation[/p][/th][th][p]Verdict[/p][/th]

[p]It Came from Space[/p][p]41.7%[/p][p]35.1%[/p][p]PC wins[/p]

[p]Perfection[/p][p]28.8%[/p][p]28.3%[/p][p]Neck and neck[/p]

[p]Enemy of the People[/p][p]28.5%[/p][p]22.2%[/p][p]PC again[/p]

[p]The Holy Gun[/p][p]26.2%[/p][p]23.5%[/p][p]Slight PC edge[/p]

[p]Ocean Nightmare[/p][p]18.9%[/p][p]14.8%[/p][p]You guessed it – PC cult prevails[/p]
[p][/p][p]And the rest? A similar pattern! Across nearly every spine-chilling achievement, Steam players walk a bit further into the dark, survive a bit longer, and push a bit harder before Madness claims them.[/p][p]Don’t let these numbers get to your head, though! While you’re slightly ahead, the Playstation acolytes are right behind you, and sometimes matching your every step.[/p][p]We challenge every one of you to dive deeper. Finish that run. Unlock that final achievement. Face the horrors that still lurk just around the corner.[/p][p]Tell us in the comments – which achievement made you sweat? And if you’ve done it all… we want to know.[/p][p][/p][p]And if you're struggling with any of the achievements, you can either get in touch with us here on Steam, on the Forgive Me Father Discord server or simply follow the guides that your fellow cultists uploaded![/p][p][/p][p]Forgive Me Father 100% Achievement Guide (Steam)[/p][p]Forgive Me Father Trophy Guide (Playstation)[/p][p][/p]
Discounts and Bundles, Bundles and Discounts
Greetings, cultists!
It's always a pleasure to share good news with you; and there's plenty of those today, if you like great deals on great games!
Let's start with the first installment of Forgive Me Father. The game is now discounted by 50% for the duration of one week, until June 5. If you haven't picked up the original comic-like Lovecraftian FPS yet, now is the perfect time to do so!
Don't forget that it is a part of several bundles which give you an additional discount – and even if you already own any of the bundled games, it will still apply to the ones you don't have yet! One of these is the Lovecraftian Madness bundle with Stygian: Outer Gods and Lovecraft's Untold Stories; both games are heavily inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft, and both are running their own discounts, making this bundle a truly insane bargain!
As for our sequel, Forgive Me Father 2, there is a 40% discount for the sale's duration, and we have introduced a couple of new bundles for you to check out too:
One of them celebrates the recent full release of Project Warlock II, which has just left Early Access. Congratulations!
And that's it for today! Sorry for the overwhelming torrent of deals and discounts, but we hope you appreciate the bargain opportunities and will find yourselves a couple of worthy additions for your Steam library!
Happy shopping!
Let's Talk About the Black Screen Issue
Greetings, cultists,
Let's not beat around the bush and address one of the most obnoxious issues we've encountered since releasing Forgive Me Father – the "black screen bug". To briefly identify it, it's the issue that a very small percentage of players have experienced, which prevents them from starting the game at all, while only opening a black screen window that cannot be bypassed in any way.
We were able to help some of the affected players ourselves, and there have been reports that some players managed to solve this issue by reinstalling the game, deleting the AppData files and some other, unconventional methods. None of them were, however, reliable enough to help every single player who experienced this issue.
Even though the number of players unable to access the game because of this problem seems to be less than one percent, we still want to find a way to help you. Over the months, we've been collecting as much data as possible about the issue and investigating affected save files, yet we have not been able to locate the source of the problem. So far it seems that it can have a different cause every time it happens: some cases might be related to the Unreal Engine the game is made in, some of them can be caused by players' Windows settings and those are just some of the possible causes.
We are not giving up, though; we want to figure this out and we’d like to officially ask for your help one more time. If you're among those who do experience or have experienced the issue, please, contact us preferably on the Forgive Me Father Discord server, as we'd like to request specific information about your systems. You can upload the needed files here on Steam on the discussion forum where there is a thread dedicated to this issue, we strongly recommend to use Discord, though, as it offers much clearer and easier communication and room for potential follow-ups.
Once you're on the Discord server, please, head to the FORGIVE ME FATHER category and the #bug-report channel where you can report your issue and share your files, or reach out directly to BB_Lucas, the Community Manager of Byte Barrel.
First pack of things we'd like to ask from you is composed of your game files (saves, logs), PC Specs and DXDiag logs.
The game files can be found in this folder (please, send the whole folder):
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\FMF
To access these files, open the Windows search bar and type %localappdata%, then press Enter.
Your PC Specs can be found by accessing your PC details, which is usually done by opening "Settings" and then opening "System" and "About" (these might be called differently on your system).
The DXDiag logs can be obtained by following these steps:
Press Win + R on your keyboard.
Type dxdiag and press Enter.
Wait a few seconds for the window to load.
Click “Save All Information...” (bottom-right corner).
Choose where to save the file (e.g., Desktop or Documents).
A file named DxDiag.txt will be created – this is your log.
Once that's done, we might follow-up with additional questions regarding your anti-virus settings, Steam settings, hardware specifications and other details.
It might sound like a lot, but we are determined to find out what's causing the issue and your help would be invaluable.
We also want to apologize to any of you who have purchased the game and were not able to start it. We're doing everything in our power to find a solution so that everyone could experience the Forgive Me Father madness first-hand.
Thank you for your continuous support!

Cyberpunk Nightmares Bundle
The first new pairing we bring before you today is that of Forgive Me Father 2 and Deadlink, connecting nightmares of the past and the future.
In Deadlink, dive into a high-octane cyberpunk universe. Take on megacorporations with your guns blazing as you pilot a humanoid combat shell on covert ops missions. This FPS with roguelite elements promises intense action and strategic gameplay.
Both Forgive Me Father 2 and Deadlink are a testament to the innovative spirit of Polish game development. The teams from Byte Barrel and Gruby Entertainment have exchanged ideas and collaborated to push the boundaries of the boomer shooter genre, meeting at events like Digital Dragons to share their passion for creating unforgettable gaming experiences.
Forgive Me HROT Bundle
Forgive Me Father 2 also teamed up with one the boomiest of all the boomer shooters out there, HROT!
A true blast from the past, HROT is a single-player retro FPS set in a small socialist country neighboring Soviet Union (Czechoslovakia) after an unspecified disaster in 1986. Those times were dark and terrifying and so is the game.
