The Steam Spring Sale has begun! You're getting a 40% discount if you buy Forward Defense from March 16 until March 23. If you've wishlishted the game, you should be receiving an e-mail about the discount.
We're very happy to share two completely new maps with you: Baghmar Airport and Desert Base!
Baghmar Airport is the biggest map we've launched so far and takes place alongside a giant runway. The RFA has breached the runway perimeter. You must protect the terminal at all costs.
Desert Base houses thousands of UCF troops and ammunition. It’s a vital staging area for Coalition operations across the country. The RFA is now launching a daring raid on the base. You’ve got a significant amount of resources at your disposal. Engage and destroy.
We hope you'll enjoy playing these new maps as much as we enjoyed designing them. Have fun and stay tuned for future updates!
Change List:
Added in Baghmar Airport level
Added in Desert Base level
Slightly tweaked ingame UI layout
Price Update Announcement
Valve has adjusted their regional pricing suggestions. We've postponed applying these changes until the Steam Winter Sale was over. Our goal here is not to increase the price, but to better match current exchange rates. Pricing for many currencies will be changed today.
Our basic USD pricing stays the same at $6.99. Euro and GBP pricing get increased from €5.99 to €6.99 and £5.19 to £5.99. We want to offer our apologies if this may seem unfair, but this pricing better reflects the latest currency values.
Thank you for your understanding and stay tuned for future updates!
Patch V0.2.0
Patch V0.2.0 introduces three features that were requested a lot: range indicators, edge scrolling and a controls menu.
A range indicator now shows up during Turret placement. It shows minimum and maximum range for all Turret Structures. No more need for guestimating how far your Howitzers can reach!
Additionally, we've added in a button next to Repair All Structures which shows coverage for all the Turrets you've already placed. If you're afraid of gaps in your defenses, this button will make your life a lot more easy.
We've added in a controls menu, both ingame as well as in the main menu. This allows you to check which buttons you need to use and allows you to change your key bindings ingame. You can now also change mouse sensitivity, camera movement speed and camera zoom speed.
We've added in edge scrolling, which allows you to move the camera around by moving your cursor against the edge of your screen. This is a common feature in many RTS games which we did not want to leave out. The feature can still be disabled in the controls menu.
Change List:
Added in range indicators during Turret placement
Added in a button to show range indicators for Turrets already placed
Added in a controls menu in the main menu
Added in a controls menu ingame
Added in the ability to change key bindings, mouse sensitivity, camera movement speed and camera zoom speed

Improved post processing with increased saturation
Improved some terrain textures
Updated Armored Car diffuse texture
Decreased Burst Cannon projectile damage from 500 to 400
Increased Burst Cannon projectile capacity from 3 to 4 (roughly the same TTK but improved hit probability)

Patch V0.1.4 introduces two brand new vehicles: the HMG APC and the Mortar APC. These vehicles are very loosely based on the BTR-70 and BTR-80 2S23.
These vehicles are the most heavily armored enemy units we've added so far. While the HMG APC deals the same amount of damage as the Armored Car, the Mortar APC fires much more devastating 120mm shells across much longer distances. This makes the Mortar APC one of the deadliest units you'll be encountering.
This patch also rebalances some of the Turrets and the Hesco Walls. GSGKingGamer reported each level could be beaten using only Howitzers. We've increased Howitzer minimum range from 60m to 80m to emphasize its role as a long range defensive structure, and made it a bit more expensive. This makes it more of a late game Turret than it was before, and (theoretically) unable to beat every level on its own.
We've also lowered health for the Smoothbore Cannon and Howitzer, which makes them less tanky. In return, we've made Hesco Walls less expensive and have given them more health. This means there's more incentive to use Hesco Walls to protect your Turrets.
Change List:
Increased the amount of waves for every level from 15 to 18, introducing the HMG APC and Mortar APC as new enemy units
Increased Howitzer price from 1.500.000,- to 1.700.000,-
Decreased Howitzer damage radius from 15m to 12m to bring it in line with the Missile Launcher
Increased Howitzer minimum range from 60m to 80m
Decreased Howitzer and Smoothbore Cannon health from 3500 to 3200
Decreased Smoothbore Cannon reload speed from 3.25s to 3.5s
Decreased Burst Cannon magazine capacity from 5 to 3
Increased Burst Cannon damage from 400 to 500
Decreased Hesco Wall price to 200.000,-
Increased Hesco Wall health from 1800 to 2500
Patch V0.1.3
Patch V0.1.3 is finally here. Thanks to all of your feedback we've been able to make some significant improvements. Fixing bugs and issues has been our primary focus over the last few months.
We've also added some basic functionality like a sound effects volume slider, and have improved the way turrets are placed and rotated. You'll find a detailed change list down below.
Change List:
Fixed an issue where placement areas would stay onscreen after relocating a structure.
Fixed a persistence issue where changes to the music volume wouldn't be applied after restarting the game.
Fixed an issue where settings applied in the launcher wouldn't be applied ingame.
Fixed an issue where changes to the graphics quality wouldn't be applied immediately.
Fixed the selection box in dropdown menus not being fully visible.
Fixed a small gap in the ingame Information Window.
Removed an outdated menu that would show up when trying to repair structures without enough Credits. This also resolves the game getting stuck at extreme ultrawide resolutions.
Removed ability to keep on selling a structure after it had already been sold. This can no longer be used as a cheat to get unlimited Credits.
Removed unused inputs from launcher input window and input manager. This may also improve controller compatibility issues (controllers are not yet supported).
Added more space to the level selection menu to allow for more maps to be added.
Added a sound effects volume slider.
Slightly lowered default sound effects volume.
Increased the maximum amount of sound effects played simultaneously. This improves sound effects playback during the biggest battles.
Improved structure placement rotation. You can now leftclick and drag in any direction to rotate a structure.
Added turret idle rotation. Turrets now rotate back to their default orientation after five seconds of inactivity.
Decreased turret rotation speed for Smoothbore Cannon, Burst Cannon and Rotary Cannon to appear more realistic.
Improved Hesco Wall orientation to align with the cursor.
Renamed Martial Law level to Downtown Uprising, to make the level name more descriptive.
Valley Village level gets a slightly increased amount of Credits during the early waves.

Oil Fields level gets a slightly increased amount of Credits during the early waves.
Oil Fields level is less foggy.

Patch V0.1.1 - Camera Fix
Several users reported the camera getting stuck in the Oil Fields level. While we were unable to reproduce this issue, we suspect this was caused by the camera spawning outside of the camera bounds.
